These are graphs showing the average score for Star Fox games including Star Fox Command.

This is what the reviewers think:

Not sure about the general/Star Fox fans but review-wise Star Fox has bounced back into the 80s section.

oh my goodness, that's not good at all....fans are rating it lower than Assault and Adventures?

I hate to say it, but this might be the nail in the coffin, to speak in cliche' terms.....I have a feeling that the odd control scheme (to newcomers and dire-hard fans alike) may be driving them away...

Hopefully things will change. I can definitely attest to the fact that it's not catching on in my town...I bought it the very first day, and I later visited approximately two days later. The results? No other copies had been sold....they didn't get that many in to begin with; only 6 (unless they were keeping more in the back).

Some of these players wouldn't know a good game if it bit them in the.....well, you get it.

Wow' date=' fans don't know quality games if they say Assault is better than Command.[/quote']

It is, command had horrid multiplayer Assaults was pretty good.

Well, I disagree and agree at the same time.

Assault has more variety and stages and there's no wireless complications (Lag lag lag) so yeah the multiplayer's good for that. But that was Assault's saving grace. Command's multiplayer coulda used some work but it's not horrid. It brings back the simplicity of SF64.

But, WHAT!? They thought Assault was better than Adventures AND Command!? Where did they get their perscription drugs from?

Those fan statistics are suprising. I say we conduct our own to see what people say here. Nothing like polling the second biggest fansite.

Actually, Infinity, that would be an extremely flawed poll.

Typically the people who join up on Star Fox forums are loyal fans, and not many of them are going to rank the game low....thus, a public opinion is vastly superior (whether or not I like the results, it's true).

Anyway, IF Assault would have supported online play, it would have blone SFC out of the water, but SFAs didn't have online play....sadly.

On the other hand, SFC has a vastly superior storyline to SFAs.

We all do have a variance of interest in each game.

Some people like SFAd, but some hate SFAs. Sure we are loyal to the series, but our interests for each game can vary.

still, overall, the results would be rigged; a public poll is just way better.

Wait I didn't notice that better than ADVENTURES? NOT A CHANCE!!!

Well the fan score doesn't reflect the review scores much.. well with the exception on Starfox 64.. though the fan ratings are there personal opinions.. and reviews ratings are reviewer opinions.. I like starfox either way so I really don't care what the ratings are for a starfox game.. I am a loyal starfox fan... anyway by the charts Im kinda suprised that Adventures surpassed Assault by the reviews.. maybe because it was something new at the time and Starfox and Starfox 64 are still on top... not suprised, I can't say anything on Command.. I don't have the game yet *damn EB doesn't stock enough games each week.. by the time I get it, it will be the end of October!!!*... well thats it..

Reguardless of what they come up with for Fox and friends, 64 is going to be hard to beat and is still one of my favorites. And despite a few childish flaws, Adventures is one of my favorites and I'd like to see more like it in the future. Given that they change it to match Starfox better than some weird dinosaur storyline.

This is yet more proof that reviews don't matter. I've never bought a game based on how someone reviewed the game. Isn't it interesting that gamers in this poll almost always rated games worse that the reviewers. I have a hunch that none of the people from Star Fox Online voted in it.

On the fact that people from Gamespot said that Assault was better than Command, it's obvious that they rate games based on graphics and number of explosions.

Here's what I see could be the reason why Command was rated lower than Assault.

1) Multiplayer. Assault had good multiplayer while Command had lags. Also assault allowed you to go Landmaster, Arwing, or Pilot in most battles.

2) Graphics. Those who are fans of Adventures and Assault and especially those who hated the graphics of Windwaker will probably not like the graphics of Command.

3) Ability. Assault allowed you to control the pilot, Landmaster, and Arwing, sometimes all in the same mission. This flexibility is what many fans of MMORPGs like.

4) Not having to keep finding fule cells like in Command.

1. let me use my friend's quote for this, "Whoever made this multiplayer should be shot"

2. IMO, if this were on the Cube, it would look so much better than Assault. It looks awesome as it is on a DS.

3. Wasn't that something people were complaining about? At least the fact that on-foot sucked.

4. You don't have to. you can just barrel roll a lot. Really, it's not that hard to keep time. I've had well over 600 seconds by the end of some maps. I've started with 15 seconds and gotten 100 by round's end. So it's not that hard.

He's right. Command is better than Assault in nearly every way except graphical power (which is to be expected on a portable) and perhaps the lack of voice acting (which I'm a fan of myself).

Yes, Voice acting is definitely a good thing.

That and the lack of more story-defined levels are the only complaints I have with the game... well there was the Krystal thing. :(

Fox forced Krystal to leave the Star Fox team before the start of the game. No matter what route you take, Krystal ends up manipulating whoever she's with (Star Wolf or Star Fox) and is very bitter. It hurts me to see her doing that stuff, but I kinda don't blame her.

I just took a look at Wikipedia and figured it out. It seems a little out of character for her don't you think? I just want to see how things pan out in the next Starfox game for the Wii.

I think Fox has learned his lesson and won't try anything in the next game, assuming the next game's story is after Command in some way. As for out of character, we really didn't know about her character that much. She was always so nice, and still is, but now we know her bad side, her extreme stubbornness.
