Yet, Another Developer Is Interested In Making a New Star Fox Title

Hope(N Forever)

In an interview with Nintendo Chronicle, Collin van Ginkel, co-founder of indie studio Two Tribes, notable for its acclaimed Toki Tori series, has claimed that they "could make a damn fine Star Fox game for Wii U. Yes, a classic Star Fox game would be awesome to work on." Two Tribes marks as the third developer, after Retro Studios and Platinum Games, that is willingly volunteering to develop a new game based on the Star Fox IP license. It still a wonder why Nintendo has not taken up any of the developers' offers as of yet.

A classic-style Star Fox game? DOO EEET!

The rumor mill is going pretty damn strong that Retro's unannounced game is Star Fox. Either way they're growing. Got themselves a new lease in a new building in North Austin. I drove by there other day. Those familiar with the area, it's just south of Parmer on Lamar.

Two Tribes making one would be awesome! I love them, so passionate with their work.

As for Retro, we shall see, I guess. I couldn't be happier if it was SF they're developing, but I'd still prefer Prime 4. :P

I'm happy that companies are offering, but I'm hoping that Retro gets to do it. A Retro Studios Starfox is almost guaranteed to be awesome.

Oh god somebody please make it. And turn Krystal into a more respectable character in the process. The company that accomplishes this will have my love forever.

I'm not sure why I'm such a huge fan of Krystal. It's not even an aesthetic thing. I don' t know why, but I love her character. I want her to be a bigger part of the story, and I want them to deeply develop her personality. That being said, girls with british/aussie accents are the hottest people on the planet.

But yeah, they should definitely thicken the plot to the Star Fox series in the next installment. All of the pieces are there for it to have an amazing story, they just have to pull the trigger.

The word classic scares me. I like being on ground. On ground is not classic. I want another Assault, but with better everything.

Still, this is good news.

I don't know if I want another Assault. Too much of the game was on the ground. I don't mind being on the ground, but I don't want to be on the ground more than I'm in the air. I also want RPG elements. I want to be able to choose a path.

BTW, even if they can't get permission to actually do Star Fox, they should still do it! If the game is essentially Star Fox without the Nintendo properties, I'd still buy it.

^ that.

I don't like the sound of 'classic', if I were Nintendo, I wouldn't take up that offer either. If classic, then you might as well make an AC game or something instead.

And I dehehehehehefinitely wouldn't want the makers of Toki Tori to be entrusted with SF.

Sorry guys, but my opinion on this is the exact opposite.

Ground missions could be nice though they need to rework the control scheme and find a nice ground:air ratio. Classic gameplay is fine but I mostly enjoy forward thinking. If you make me shoot the weak spot on a floating hand one more time... *shakes fist*

If Star Fox could incorporate the story telling and play style for the ground missions that Mass Effect has I'd be all over that, add in a lot of classic Arwing gameplay and it'd be magic. I liked changing from air to ground in Assault so keeping that would be great too.

I mean overall, I wish they'd just acknowledge that their fanbase has matured and wants an equally mature and well done game, and wants it sometime this decade. XD But for some reason any time you put animal people in a game it suddenly has to be a low budget POS kiddie game where story doesn't matter, and that kinda miffs me.

Nintendo, GET SERIOUS ABOUT THIS. Let someone with some street cred make a new game already.

Because the next logical step for Star Fox is a Lost Vikings-esque game. Actually now that I say it out loud I would play that.

Two Tribes and Starfox?

Not bad.

I remember there were rumors of Lucasarts taking the helm. Then I discovered it wasn just a rumor. Imagine my disappoint.

Fffffffffffffuuuuuuuuu. :( Yeah, that would've been my dream choice (or at least one of them) given I like both Force Unleashed and Rogue Squadron so damn much.

Retro Studios seems like the best pick thus far. Even though I really, really disliked the Metroid games on the Gamecube, it seems as a 1st party dev, it's a no-brainer. They'd be working very closely with Nintendo of Japan on such a project.

Lucas Arts can burn in the cesspool that they spawned from as far as I'm concerned; I'm glad they were shut down. But that's mostly due to the abhorrent Developer-Publisher relations and management style.

Retro or one of the other Main Nintendo dev teams would be a good choice. Although honestly at this point I'd accept a good game with the Starfox Brand over a mediocre or poor Starfox game. Starfox needs more good games. It needs more hype. It needs a bigger audience. If a good game that isn't necessarily the Starfox formula appears with the name and attracts more people I'd be pretty happy.

The good Starfox games can come later.
