LegentaryFox
With sorrow and disbelief we have all seen a wonderful project, one that could praise a wonderful character, Krystal Fox, to her alternate ego, named Kursed, die during the coming of 2013. We have been all waiting for that game being eager and really excited. But that moment of it coming out to it's completion never came. Okay, let us not blame the artists who have been working on this. They were never obligated to do this. Instead, this was a gift to the Star Fox community they wanted to offer. But expectations do no always come true by following them closely, specially when there is not true belief that the whole concept is going to be successful or completed, due to many, different maybe reasons. However, this project did not die. It's legacy and spirit have lived on, inspiring other artists sharing the same love. I Bigjim3D, am also one of them. Dedicated to the star Fox community, I and my team are going to release a Star Fox game. One of a similar kind, sharing the same idea. Krystal is a great character, and really has many to give. So let us make all those good, and bad stories she could could take part into reality. Let us make "Chronicles of Krystal" reality! So, we need support. From other artists or fans. We offer jobs for this project too. We aim not our project to end up like Projet Kursed but we do aim to praise it too. We aim to be creating something nice and complete. Something we do believe it is going to be kindly nice, and is going to fill all the gaps that Nintendo leaves in its original art. But there are also needs. We are here for real! Spread the word everywhere! LET US MAKE EPIC STAR FOX REALITY! Want to support this? Let me know here or in my official page on deviant art: http://bigjim3d.deviantart.com/
The Shaper
Ah, a Star Fox game about Krystal. Seems like wishful thinking, as a lot of Star Fox fan projects are, but at least this isn't some "Star Fox based Indie Game" like a lot of other advertisements in the past. Perhaps someone is interested in this, but I'd recommend you tell us a little bit more about this project instead of just copy/pasting the post from your Deviant Journal, since this is coming out of nowhere and I can't really see what you're intention here is besides throwing out a bulk message and hoping someone is interested enough from that.
Fana McCloud
Krystal is a great character, ...Wait, what? XD Vague speeches about how it could be awesome are nice but you really should give concrete details on what exactly you plan to make in a game, otherwise it just seems like yet another kid who thought a game about their favorite videeoh gayme character would be epic without any clue whatsoever as to how to accomplish it.
Battlechili
...Wait, what? XD Well, Krystal has a nice personality and look, and she, just as every other Starfox member, fights against enemies. She also detects the weak points of live enemies.Plus, she adds a bit more to the games by adding a romantic subtext in, which is used for humor, as seen in Assault, or for drama, as seen in Command. So I'd say she's a good character. Could certainly use a better backstory though. I mean, her planet was destroyed, and she wants to know what happened to it. Why don't we know what happened to it?!! Ugh, plus the fact that Fox likes Krystal could be used to add tension to the games by making Fox try hard to keep Krystal out of battle, or perhaps have him go out of his way risking his life to save her. Of course, this is something that'd make Krystal's addition better, something they haven't done with her that they could. In response to the OP, interesting idea, but could you be a little more detailed? Is this an idea you came up with, and you want support/ideas on what to put in the game? I'm for it. manthony_Higgs
Krystal's entire personality is I LIKE DINOS AND WANT FOX TO BANG ME. She never helps the team and her "powers" are never brought up. She's only there to sell games to furries. Like, Falco is still pretty flat, but damn, he seems like an ocean compared to the puddle that is Krystal. BUT THATS NOT WHAT THIS THREAD IS FOR If you want us to support your "game", you should give us some tangible info on it.
Robert Monroe
With sorrow and disbelief More like impassiveness and met expectations. a wonderful project Mostly mediocre. praise a wonderful character, Krystal Fox, to her alternate ego, named Kursed Shallow, poorly utilized, ham-fisted character with an even worse alter ego. ... snide sarcasm aside- Do you have programmers? Game designers? Because Shadows of Lylat had more than Project Kursed ever could dream for, and it too fell in the dust. You need more than uplifting words and fandom spirit to make a game, buddy. Also Krystal is terrible why not make a Falco Chronicles.

Drasiana
You can't make a game with nothing but a team full of "idea guys" and fairy dust. You need a hell of a lot of dedication, talent and affordable free time, and that is not a common trifecta of traits to gain across the board with members of a paid project, let alone a fan project. Not to discourage you from making a game but you should be aware that this takes effort, and you won't gain support for something that not only doesn't exist, but lacks the proof that there is a possibility of it ever existing.
Icy
Don't knock it so much, guys, heh. Maybe he's dedicated and has a team. I believe on his dA he said he'd be showing some things soon. But yes, it takes way more than just a bunch of cool ideas. Gotta have serious dedication, and you never wanna go telling the world about it unless you have something seriously big to show. I know that people who hold back on their announcements get so much more done and realized. When they finally reveal it, they've got something exciting to show that really gets people to buy it. LegentaryFox
Hello people. Firstly, thank you all for reading and commenting on this, and offering your thoughts. I shall reply to all of you. To start from the most important and finish with the less. You are right, I've just left a ambitious message to this topic describing not who I am or what this project is actually about. Well allow me to explain right now. My name on the net is Bigjim3D, or to my production team: LegendaryFox. I am a pro 3D artist finished the art university last summer. I've been working kindly before my graduation too, but that was with common models and programs found on the net as many of you very rightfully stated. My gallery on deviant art is full of those images. After I graduated though, I took a break out of there, and started working secretly on what I am talking about in this topic today. Me and my team, aim for an original Star Fox story, so we are going to remodel eveerything on our own. We would like our game to be completed faster than "Shadows of Lylat" which has filled 6 years of gaming development, and also, not to end up like how "Project Kursed" did. And we will be doing that with the top, creating software that we can get. We are experienced, and always dedicated and fond of what we are doing. But let us cut towards the game. Many others asked what "Chronicles of Krystal" are exactly. Willl it be about Krystal's doubtfull past? Or her uncertain future? Or maybe even her bouncy present? Well, to be precise and accurate, "Chronicles of Krystal' does cover all of those. We have scenarios for bothe her past, her present, and her future. "Chronicles of Krystal" is not only the game that we are going to create. The game is just a small chapter of it called: "Chronicles of Krystal: The Coronian wars." Other parts of our concept, may be produced as comics, or even movies though. Whatever we believe it would be the best. Because, there were many fans that were disturbed with "Star Fox Adventures" gameplay. And that's because it was completely different from the old school Star Fox gameplay we all loved. Yet it has some nice, unique story, and strongly developped characters concerning every aspect. So wouldn't it better if "Star Fox Adventures" were actually a movie instead? Anyways, back to our subject. So, our game is going to be, if everything goes as planned, a dynamic spacefight, like how we love Star Fox to be. But it will have improvements concerning nintendo's experience. It is going to be an online game for PC, so that everyone can play it. No more "only for gamecube" market tricks towards the fans. And so, while this is going to be an online game, we are also intrigued to add up some campaign to it too so that the fans can actually get known better with every character who is going to be there, and why is everything happening, original or not. My hands are actually tied on revealing many more details, but have this in mind StarFox fans. Lylat system is attacked by a new race. One they have never witnessed before. It is dangerous, vicious and fights in a way the Lylat defenses cannot encounter. And it is going to wipe them all from the face of the universe if they don't do something to stop it. Fox McCloud might as always try to fight back, but can he put it with such a great danger all on his own, and his altered Star Fox team by his side? How will Star Wolf react to this? And even if Fox does manage succeed, won't there be suprises coming directly from the dark, wanting his blood and only due to his unbreakable hall of fame? This is the basic storyline people. Now, many others also did ask: Why focus on Krystal on this project? Why not more capable characters, like Falco, or Fox, or Panther and Wolf? Well, my response to this will be the following: Krystal may not be the most talented fighter as a character, but she is the most promising in our opinion. She is totally stubborn and unstable.. One day she may hate someone, and the next day love him instead. Her past is full of holes, and her futures in uncertain. She uses magic, but also seems to have tendency in sci-fi equipment too. She focuses on special and not physical abilites, but still does insist on physical acivities. Krystal is someone who could never be predictable, like Falco, Panther or Wolf. She is someone that could always leave you guessing. And honestly, with that overrated ego of her own, don't you believe that she can reach extreme fighting abilities once? Maybe she won't have the same atribute with Fox or Falco, but her own special abilities may be also as experted. Krystal Fox is a great character friends, it is just Nintendo that is not utilizing the full of her. We have been thinking about this whole concept for years. Been carefully planning it and preparing it. Now we are producing it. Creating models and concept art. Our actors work hard preparing the lines, while our music composers do research for our musical options. I personally am a 3D modeler and a general director. Not that we do not need other people to work with us for the good of the Star Fox community too, but we currently moving on. And if you would like to see some artowrk of mine, please do check my deviant art page quite often. I most likely post things there twice or trice per week. Could have been a better rate, but also have to look out for an active life too. Thank you all StarFox fans fro being present to this. Spead out the word, we would appreciate feedback, and any kind of support, from a simple comment, to a small donation. Our group is not profit intended, everything that will be given to us, will be kindly used for the best of the Star Fox commmunity. Not a single thing marauded for our personal use. We are LegendaryFoxProductions, and we make epic Star Fox reality.
Drasiana
Ah, okay. Might want to put up a link to a more recent portfolio so we have a better idea of your skills instead of being scared off by that Krystal poser model. I do like that you seem to be going in more of a headstrong, actually character-driven direction with Krystal, as Krystal-focused games usually devolve into creepy cheesecake really quickly. However... Lylat system is attacked by a new race. One they have never witnessed before. It is dangerous, vicious and fights in a way the Lylat defenses cannot encounter. And it is going to wipe them all from the face of the universe if they don't do something to stop it. ...This is the plot of literally every Star Fox game ever and everyone's getting pretty sick of it. You can be a little more specific with the plot here because being vague right now is not helping you. Also please do not call her "Krystal Fox". "Fox" is not her last name and it sounds, to be frank, hella stupid.
LegentaryFox
Check out my deviant art profile later on. I will have some art over there. But only some which the whole team agreed to. We want not to reveal what we should not too early. And that also applies for our game's storyline. Maybe you are right. Maybe our plot iskindly similar in general, but is not when the details come within too. Let me just say, that this time, maybe Fox was the one who triggered this. This time, this whole thing is a focused attack on him first, and then the Lylat system. Fox will find himself in his hardest spot ever, both phycically, but also emotionally too. Maybe this time, this thing is also personal too, for he always did leave open accounts. But it is time one of those open accounts, once had the might to turn against him. And this one is a case he may never thought possible. "The past, knocks us doors." Is the first phrase that this main someone says when the two, known from the past see each other again. Drasiana
So wait, if Fox is the catalyst to this, why is it about Krystal? You talk a lot about how this is going to be the Krystal Chronicles, but she seems kind of uninvolved in the plot as you're pitching it.
LegentaryFox
Awh, captain, you really are giving me a hard time. Naturally I would respond like this: "Nice question. Wait until we decide to show more." but I would prefer not to end this like this. Still this is the last clue I am giving away about this, and please do not go asking for more. Our art will show on more on it's own, and if then you are not satisfied, then you can ask for more clues. Well, the game's title is "Chronicles of Krystal." that's correct. There are other chapters that Fox is not even mentioned, at all. But since this is a chapter featuring Star Fox team, and Fox was the one who brought Krystal in Star Fox team, and instructed her to her new lifestyle, he has to be a top character in this too. You may state this: "Then what different kind of gameplay this might be, since it is again all about Star Fox team?" Oh well, my response to that will be, that there are new ships out there Captain, and Star Fox team, after some certain facts that did take place can never be the same. Ghosts of the past will be coming up again after such a long absense, while new, original characters will leave their own mark. It is not something that can be explained without you having the first clue about it. But let me say, that the protagonist, Krystal will be the one holding the show on, not Fox, in a breathtaking plot that is going through many turns and is going to push every of the main charaters to their limits, both physical and emotional. It will be something kind and clean, but also hardcore and extreme. Something like Nintendo would not do maybe, but it still hosts a general style that is not completely opposing them. Hopefully, all the fans will be able to see it happen soon.
Drasiana
I'm only giving you a hard time because these are questions you will need to answer in order to get people interested. Nothing about this so far has separated it at all from the nine dozen other Star Fox fangames that have spun to an unceremonious end, and just telling us "but it WILL be good!" is not enough to make us believe that. We're a jaded bunch, because even the promising-looking fangames typically fall to the wayside, so we have no real reason to trust this project that you have no real content for other than a really vague, generic plot synopsis that focuses entirely on a character who the game isn't even from the perspective of. I'll be interested to see the artwork you submit, but do not make promises here that you cannot commit to.
LegentaryFox
Oh well Captain, I can see your point. You are definitely right. I do not have many things to support what I am telling right now.... Well, let time to show right? We are confident and we'll be posting art, not ony 3D, but also 2D as time progresses. Hopefully our project, will be one that will be interesting the fans. I am not to say if it going to be good or not. Let you be the ones who judge that. As for the story, I cannot really tell much, but I am always willing to give. What would you like to know about captain?
RennardFuchs
Well, as much as I like the idea of a fan game, I must warn you that working on that "unpaid" (and you want to keep it unpaid, sice this is a "fan project") will show you how much time and work it takes to get this done. If you're a professional 30 artist that's OK, but that's not all... you need concept artists, programmers, concept writers, composers etc. etc. Speaking about "less than 6 years"... I'm working on Lylat's Last Stand, and believe me we wanted to release the pre-alpha long ago, but there are so many things that changes your plans, that your prior deadline will shift sooner than you think. I don't want to discourage you, just make you wake up from the "I'll-make-a-game"-dream. It's a lot of work and time. You meet very nice people (Yes, I'm talking of my team... they are all awesome), all talented, but everyone have it's limits... Also if you want to have attention from fans you need to share them your work... and right now you have only a connon and...a "ripped-off" armor retextured Krystal (*wrong answer sound*)... Here you have the next difficulty of Fan-Games... No original assets. That means Nintendo have the base to send you a very unpleasent "cease and disist" letter if you use original assets, even the "StarFox"-Logo . If you're still determined to make that game... do it, but be prepared for hard times... Making that kind of stuff is cool, but also time and talent consuming, and time and talent are scare in that times. Good luck. Rennard
LegentaryFox
Thank you a lot for trying to be suggesting to me Rennard. Everything you said will be kept in mind. Even if, I've been working this on my own for more than 2 years before I hired a team and almost one year more before I uploaded this topic yesterday. The "let's make a game" dream was something that did characterize me during my first two years of work. However I've been through tons of plights and difficulites about it. However I am just confident and strong minded about it. I would rather not be someone serious and pessimistic when not needed. The people who dream it big, get it big. But yes, I do have experiences about it. I also do have my limits, but tend to overpass them for my projects, and Star Fox is not an exception. I believe that no matter if more people are there to help, I will be doing 75%-80% of all things on my own. Currently, I am working as a 3D artist, concept artist, concept writer, programming planner, and a director for my actors or musical artists, while I am the one who wrote the storyes in the first place. The reason why I decided to be uploading this topic, is because we like the world to know that we are here. We do not request for anything else besides feedback. And by that I do not mean money. It is only true that we need more peole to work for us. We do not currently pay our artists, this is another truth. I am also not paid for my hard effort. We do this because we just love it. Because we like Star Fox and that is just the story. I would actually love to be able to repay people for their hard work, but I need to keep my family gracefullly in a healthy life too. Maybe I will be uploading more material of our game, but still do not be expecting the fireworks to go off just yet. Our current progress may be satisfiying but still there are many things to be done. We are not here to oppose none of the already existing projects. We are fully aware of the effort a game requires to be completed. With this topic, w are just informing everyone at last, of what we are doing, and also be involved with many Star Fox related activities concerning other projects that might need people to work. We here for to offer. Our game is a gift towards the great Star Fox community. We do not require of anythin in particular. We are here doing what we like and love. RennardFuchs
I think you misunderstood me... I didn't meant that you can't pay for their work, but you mustn't... that's what makes a fan game a fan game and not a commercial game. You say that you make most of the stuff from the game... well, than you need more people... if you want to accomplish the "less than 6 years" mark. And also, the last sentences... everybody who makes a fan-game wants to give it to the fans. You want to get appreciation for your work, and that's all good... the hardest part is to get to this point, it's a long, rocky road with a lot of obstacles ^^ Cheers
LegentaryFox
Well, thank you a lot Rennard... Yes, I do need more people. Currently searching. Hopefully I am going to find. But still no matter what happens, I am going to give it my best. And hopefully it is going to be appreciated. Best of luck with whatever you are going through too.
Battlechili
Question: So, what have you completed in the game so far? This is what has me most concerned. Is this just an idea as of right now that you are trying to get enough ideas together to get started, or what?
LegentaryFox
The idea itself is complete. I have personally figured out and wrote the whole fanfiction, so I can securely say this is done. We know what the "story mode" section of our game will be like. But there are also going to be other, simplest features, such as "Instant Action" features where the player can jump to a battle against other players at anytime. Actually, we plan "Chronicles of Krystal" to be an online game where any player can clash with each other (At least at first base) which is something Nintendo never done. But there are also going to be story chapters as a player does progress, for the player to discover for every character's deep story individually, no matter if he/she is an original one or not, because it;s all about the story that concerns the character's actions. Now coming to the more practicall stuff, we are doing concept art, researches, surveys, recordings, and also some 3D modeling concerning certain equipment props. Guns, rockets, etc. Now of course and we are going to create our beloved Star Fox characters models too. But I am really cautious concerning that step. It is not going to be something really easy as we will need to model exactly 15 characters from who, a little less from the half point through are original. And also, we are going to need to model our Arwings, wolfens, and the original ships coming from the Dark Sector, that are the menace to Lylat. Later on, just programmers' work, setting up the phycics which is a step I am completely clueless on. After that, and while all particle systems are set up in the game engine, I believe we are in a really nice route to be making this reality.
