Guys. I'm trying to figure out the difference here and it's driving me mad.

 

 

I see bottles of Mountain Dew and when I buy them, they're not the same as the original one from the can. I see that this is Mountain Dew Energy, which has a different flavour. Fair enough.
 

However, there's this other bottled stuff here, it's like, simply labelled "Mountain Dew" but the label is black. What the heck is this one?

Uhhhh it doesn't say "pitch black" on it anywhere, does it? That's the only thing I pull up for a black labeled Mountain Dew. :c Pitch Black is a different flavor, though.

I know there are new energy drink styled MtD's out now. They're trying to mimic Monster/Redbull. 

If it's dark it could be Voltage or like Sarita said as Pitch Black.

So is this the citrus one from the original cans? I tried Wiki but there are so many kinds I kind of just gave up. :3

According to the wiki, that black and green bottle is the original citrus flavor in certain markets (New Zealand.)

Yes it's unhealthy, all soda is really. I rarely have it, but it's a massive treat when I do get any.

Mountain Dew is overrated, give me Coke anyday. Mountain Dew is pretty much just Lemon-Lime Soda with caffeine, food coloring and other shit to supposedly make it "better" even though it's not. You can pretty much pick up Sprite, 7up or any other lemon-lime soda and get the same taste without all the crap in it.

 

Though that aside, I generally only drink "brown" soda when I go to a restraunt such as Subway, which usually happens only once a week. Though my family does pick up a six-pack of a natural soda from time to time. As everyone else has stated, it's REALLY unhealthy for you if you drink it on a regular basis, and can even lead to kidney stones, diabetes, brain cancer (if its diet soda), damage in the stomach and teeth, etc.
