DoctorAllosaurus
Somebody brought it to my attention that the starters follow ye old RPG archetypes. Chespin is supposed to be the warrior/paladin, Fennekin is the mage, and Froakie is the thief.
Xortberg
Yeah, I saw that as well. Chespin's evo is still goofy as fuck though.
Drasiana
It's pretty cool and keeps up the more fairytale/traditional fantasy angle they're going with. Frogadier seems a bit more into rogue territory than straight up thief but hey. I wonder what they're gonna do with that weird stick sticking out of Braixen's tail. Wizard staff? DoctorAllosaurus
Yeah, I saw that as well. Chespin's evo is still goofy as fuck though. Eh, now that I've gotten a better look at it in motion I'm coming around, at least it doesn't remind me of that obnoxious Bob's Burgers show anymore. Now it looks a lot more like a cross between Teddie from Persona 4 and that possum thing from Rocket Knight Adventures.

I assume it's some sort of magic wand or something along those lines, yes. Perhaps the 2nd evo will turn it into a full-blown Gandalf staff. That'd be pretty fucking boss. DoctorAllosaurus
According to an article on Siliconera: "Braxien is the evolved form of the Fire-type Fox Pokemon Fennekin. Players will notice that Braxien keeps a small twig tucked into it's tail. Fennekin often snacks on a twig, but Braxien uses it another way-the twig calms it's mind and is also sometimes used in battle after being set aflame with a little friction"
Drasiana
Yeah there are some videos out now showing it using the twig as a wand. It's apparently the "fire witch" Pokemon, which is hella cool.
Vy'drach
I now must make sure my Fennekin is female and name it either Yuria, Queelag, Queelan, or Quelana.

DoctorAllosaurus
That is one fabulous beard Tyrantrum is sporting, I think nicknaming him Olaf is inevitable.
Xidphel
And, for some slightly more serious, New Set of ‘X’ and ‘Y’ Rumors Trusk is a Grass/Rock boar Pokemon with long green tusks coming out of its mouth. He is gruff, has grey skin, and features green leaf-like ears. It has an “adorable†pre-evolution with tiny tusks and a leaf at the end of its tail. A Normal/Poison porcupine Pokemon named Quillom can be found quite early in the game in the forest. It has white skin with light purple quills. He has a Poison-type quill attack which damages and has a high chance of poison. A Ghost-type spider Pokemon is found in caves. It is dark gray with blue spots and multiple light grey eyes. It has a feint light blue mist around its abdomen. The source doesn’t remember the spelling of its name, but says it was something like “Apparachnid.†He thinks it may have an evolution. There is a Ground-type badger Pokemon that is dark brown with black stripes going up its face. It knows Slash and a new biting move. Reconfirmation that Froakie’s final evolution is Water/Fighting. It looks similar to a poison dart frog. The dark blue now takes over its body almost entirely. There are a few even darker (almost black) spots on his sides and face and it gains more of the bubble foam around its neck and down the back. It’s also a bit bulkier. It uses its hind legs a lot and has kicking attacks. Bunnelby evolves into a Ground/Dark type rabbit that is larger and much rounder. Its color scheme is reversed, with the dark brown now being the prominent color. It can be found in caves. It is useful because you can get it early in the game and use it to evolve Pancham into Pangoro. Helioptile has an evolution. It is bipedal with a second yellow triangle on its face. Its ears become more jagged and it looks meaner. On its back are what look like spikes with jagged parts at the very top. It can learn a new attack called Thunder Roll, where it rolls up like a wheel and strikes the opponent. Reconfirmation that Meowstic has a pre-evolution named Espurr. There is no gender differentiation until it evolves. It is mostly white, similar to the female version, with cuter eyes and a single puffy tail. It has a little patch of fur under its head (similar to its evolutions). The fur is dark blueish with little tufts of white in it. Other Pokemon that are now Fairy-type: the Chansey evolution line, Dunsparce, the Clefairy line, and Togepi’s line. Fairy Dust is a new move that will randomly cause either Paralysis, Poison, Sleep, or Burn. Like Magneton, Wailmer is part of one of the Super Training Facility games. Team Flare makes an appearance right at the beginning of the game. On the TV in your house, one of its members talks about fashion and how your Pokemon should match your style. Team Flare’s signature music has an eerie accordion sound to it in the opening sequence. The outfit your character wears at the start is colored to match what you’ve set as your favorite color in your 3DS settings. It can be changed easily though. The opening cinematic is in 3D. (Have to mention this since most of the game isn’t in stereoscopic 3D. ) It starts off with Yveltal’s cry, which wakes you up. You sit up in your bed. It then pans and there is a shot of your city. Yveltal’s shadow goes over it. After that there is some other shots of your town. You seem amazed that you saw Yveltal. It then shows generic in-game shots like you entering a forest with your friends, selecting your starter, running through a cave, etc. After that it shows Sycamore welcoming you. You are standing outside of his lab at the time, then he takes you inside. It then shows him showing you three Poke Balls which leads into a transformation video where it shows all three Kanto starters evolving to their final forms, and then the three of them Mega Evolving. It’s a really cool cinematic. The video ends with Yveltal flying with the sun behind him, leading in to the title screen. Team Flare is also shown at some point in the sequence. On the title screen you can use the analog joystick on your 3DS to change the angle at which you see Xerneas/Yveltal. My prediction: New OHKO fairy move: FAIRY GLITTER! Xortberg
http://pokejungle.net/2013/09/29/rumor-images-show-final-froakie-evolution-new-pokemon/ Just saw someone on Facebook link this. Just rumors, of course, and I have no idea how reliable this Pokejungle site is, but the Froakie and Chespin evos look plausible at the least, so yeah. If this is legit, then thankfully it seems Chespin gets a little less ridiculous. If not legit, oh well. Also, HAWLUCHA? A BIRD-THEMED LUCHADOR POKEMON? HUE;OFHW;FIWLHGIG YES PLEASE In any case, I hope the claims of 70 new Pokemon and little endgame aren't true. Sure, they're also adding a SHITLOAD of other features, but that's just disappointing. Drasiana
I've seen a few posts "proving" that the ones of Froakie-3 and Chespin-3 are fake but I don't care just please let Hawlucha be real please

Probably money related worries but argh when I read all the hype I'm like "prepare my bank account". Same. :c I want it, but at the same time I'm like "I'm poor and I have a doll with no body, I have choices to make"
Drasiana
Yeah I...I didn't even have a 3DS until the other day until I bought a 3DS XL, Luigi's Mansion, Animal Crossing and preordered Y all at once. It was like $300 orz ...and worth EVERY PENNY Also that barnacle thing looks goofy as hell which makes me think it's actually probably real because I can't see anyone faking something like that. It's always like anime moon wolves that get faked.
DoctorAllosaurus
I keep changing my mind about this game over and over again. Probably money related worries but argh when I read all the hype I'm like "prepare my bank account". Eh I feel the same way but for a different reason, I just want to play with my old high school buddies. If they aren't playing then it's just really not worth it anymore. Drasiana
So apparently a bunch of Canadian stores fucked the biscuit and somehow managed to release the games like two weeks ahead of schedule. Predictably, there are leaks happening everywhere. Alas the EB Games I preordered from was not one of these stores, but so far reveals include: Fletchinder (Fletchling's evo) Espurr (Meowstic's prevo) Male trainers can have goddamn facial hair I better wake up to some final starter evo reveals as well as Spritzee's evolution
Drasiana
Double-posting to get attention. But I am here bringing new info! Delphox: Fennekin-3 revealed Chesnaught: Chespin-3 revealed Greninja: Froakie-3 confirmed Heliolisk: Helioptile-2 revealed Diggersby: Bunnelby-2 revealed New: Carbink revealed Swirlix-2 and Spritzee-2 revealed Other things of note: -Aerodactyl apparently gets a megaevolution -Someone ran into a hoarde of Sevipers and one Zangoose and they turned on each other to fight and ignored the player -Greninja is water/dark and Chesnaught is grass/fighting, not water/fighting and grass/dark like everyone thought I'm kinda bummed Spritzee's evo doesn't look super plague-doctory anymore but on the other hand it looks like it and Swirlix are XY's answer to Solosis and Gothita so they probably have third stages and I'm crossing my fingers.
Vy'drach
As awesome as Greninja is, I am going to go with Fennekin and naming her Yuria because that pokemon matches Yuria the Witch pretty damned fantastic.
Xidphel
Don't leak any info on Pokemon X&Y.Or Game Freak will find you. When it comes to Pokemon, Nintendo doesn't fuck around. Yesterday images of the new Pokemon X and Y began circling the internet. The source was an Instagram user named kosthedin who had a friend that worked in a game store and gave him a copy early. However, his fun was short lived as all the pictures were removed by the evening and he posted a picture that simply saying "got Nintendo'd". Upon further clarification it seems Nintendo sent a representative out to the game store and threatened the store with crippling repercussions. I'm talking like a perpetual walk through a cave overrun by Zubats with no repel. In an attempt to spare his friend a fate worse than death, kosthedin gave the game back to Nintendo. I'm sure we'll hear more details soon, but I can't imagine the employee will be keeping his job. Especially considering that this is Nintendo's first simultaneous world wide Pokemon launch. On the plus side, he'll have plenty of extra time to play Pokemon.
Drasiana
That guy willingly gave his copy back to the store because he didn't want his friend to lose his job. They aren't going after people who got their games early because a store fucked up, though they are probably going after the stores themselves. What's out there is already out there, and it's not like "you can have facial hair" is exactly on the same level as "Darth Vader is Luke's father" in terms of leaked info. I mean those stores did fuck up pretty badly but that's on them and not the customers who genuinely didn't seem to know any better and just thought it was cool that Pokemon was out already. I won't post anymore leakstuff if people are worried about it though :V
Vy'drach
If they actually resisted turning the copy back in Nintendo may not have had a leg to stand on, actually. As long as a shipment of games doesn't have a "Do not sell before X" label on it, the store can generally legally put the games out for sale at their discretion. Perhaps if a crack team of lawyers on either side spent months arguing over semantics that could change but there's been more than a few times where the "lol you didn't tell me not to" defense has won out, allowing the legal selling of early release games.
