Pgpaw3
So I was shot into lava by a skeleton and fell into lava. Then the lava glitched and I fell straight through it and out of the map, and then I get this nice message. "Pgpaw3 burnt to death bungee jumping to escape bunyip." I have my language settings on Australian if you were wondering. So what do you guys think? Have you had any good death messages from games?
Snys93
God of War 3 YOU ARE DEAD Plain, simple, direct and most of all...obvious.
Sarita
Terarria has really fun ones. One of my favourites was a fall death. "____ didn't bounce."
Arashikage
"Generic user 101 just got a lead enema from Arashikage's M4" "Generic user 101 was picked off by Arashikage's PSG1... Plink!" "Arashikage said 'Goodbye cruel world!'" I like Urban Terror's death messages
Ori
Excerpts from Quantum Conundrum's list of "Things You Will Never Experience" when the player dies; #257: Welcoming our robot overlords (just covering all contingencies). #904: The zombie apocalypse (maybe this is for the best). #23: Accomplishing your dreams. (Unless your dream was dying alone in a mansion, in which case - good job.) #796: Finding out what's beyond the next door (because it's really cool, and you don't get to know now). #557: Rediscovering your childhood (one that doesn't involve being dead). #91: Getting old enough to... wait... Hold on, I'll remember it... #106: The ridiculous price of college tuition in seven years (seriously, for a state school it'll be like $95,000). #21: Winning the lottery (but let's face it, that was pretty unlikely anyhow). #79: Outliving... oh, just about anything. #49: Being better at this sort of thing than you are right now. Actually, being better at absolutely anything than you are RIGHT NOW. Or, were. #67: Learning to ride a bike (hey, based on your skill here, I'm just assuming). #90,245: Eventually dying of unrelated causes many, many years from now, content in your old age. I could go on all day. Also Portal; Prelude's test supervisors' message upon the player getting stuck in a panel impossible-to-open from the inside: "My, that was incredibly stupid." (Note that the player is basically stuck there for, like, ever.)
The Shaper
Terarria has really fun ones. One of my favourites was a fall death. "____ didn't bounce." That reminds me... 11:05 PM - The General: >singleplayer hardcore 11:05 PM - The General: >have it all 11:05 PM - The General: >so much metal 11:05 PM - The General: >a wonderful 2 story mansion I planned on screencapping for Rob 11:05 PM - The General: >a large map I was filling in with information via sailing 11:06 PM - The General: >sandbank 11:06 PM - The General: >crash 11:06 PM - The General: "The General Hit The Ground Too Hard." 11:06 PM - The General: WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?! 11:06 PM - The General: That is NOT SUPPOSED TO HAAAAPPEEEEN I'd nominate Terraria for the best death messages, if this were a poll. Fox-Shot
Skulltag: adding "fell to far" to a game you couldn't originally die from falling in.
jeth
The best death message I ever got was on HALO: Reach matchmaking. A blind man sniped you.
