Harlow
AKA No internet = No games. No exception. I'm not that sure if it's true, but I heard that it's just short of a press conference to make it official. Imagine the scenes: You're playing Final Fantasy XXX or whatever, you're into the game's climax them BOOM! The connection was lost, please change your crappy plan or move to a first world country, you ass!... Okay maybe not like that... Internet's out, so I'm gonna play videogames for a wh- Oh right... I'm going to take my super console to my friend's house in the country and... Oh... I not aware of you North American/European/Japanese friends of how often your Internet fails, if at all, but stuff isn't so good here. But this new measure sure will alienate half of the globe and half of the market. A really scumbag move if you ask me. It's said that it's to protect from piracy, but I don't know how will that work. The Xbox 720/Durango will have it hard against Sony and their bland-for-now proposal if that's true.
Vy'drach
This has been going around for a bit. And then this gif, which, except for the Wii U part, was great all around, though gets a bit rash with the language. But I wouldn't worry too much either way. If Microsoft does this, it'd pretty much be corporate suicide, so they either won't do it at all, or they will and it'll be the last thing they do console wise for a very long time while they recover and they become a posterboy of what not to do. Either way it's a win.
jeth
I'm with Vydrach, if Microsoft does this, they'll really be shooting themselves in the foot. And if the not playing used games rumor is true then they might as well not even release the 720. Basicly what I'm saying is I highly doubt Microsoft is dumb enough to do that. Dr. Orange
Well, I do believe most of the Xbox community has live and plays online. So this decision would make sense, right? Don't get me wrong, I honestly hate the idea and think it will hurt Microsoft more than Windows 8. I'm just more curious on why they want internet 24/7. But right now it isnt NECESSARY for the machine to function, and many tolerate internet fails in online games. But fails in every game?
Dr. Orange
I know there are a lot of Internet fails on a daily basis so I do also wonder if one would have to rewatch the intro every time it happened.

Actually, from what I've heard, less than half of the Xbox 360 users have Xbox Live. This just in, Adam Orth is no longer with Microsoft. manthony_Higgs
Orth could have handled that any other way and it would've been better. I sincerely think he said the worst possible things in that situation. Good to know that brat isn't there anymore though
Snys93
Oh, this'll do very well for Microsoft. Giving the consumer more of what he/she doesn't need from a console: idiotic bullsh*t.

It's said that it's to protect from piracy, but I don't know how will that work. it wil protect from priacy due to the program/console will always be checking on more or less speaking to the server so no internet and it wont work since it thinks the servers are down some people take advantage of offline mode since it takes next to no verifaction foxexample with colbalt or minecraft you could simply put next to anything in the lastlogin file then you can play easily or thats how people install adobe and other programs then block the programs internetconection via the firewall theve implemented this idea in simcity but not very well since they used realy bad servers though peoplle cracked it in a day or 2 though people still cant save there games but as we know these new methods willl be cracked soon after there realised also people shouldnt waster money on console with the exception of the wii witch is great for freinds over and party games since grapics and loading times on consoles are horible and if you agure there to expensive i can do a build better then a ps3 for cheaper then one
