StarfoxUniverse
Does anyone think that it's weird that in Starfox 2 Wolf has a scar on his right eye and in Starfox64 he has an eyepatch on his left?
Hidi
It's just a change in art design, and given the transition into 3D on the N64, it may have been easier to do an eyepatch.
CrypticQuery
To be fair, nothing is considered canon from Star Fox 2. Not the characters, their appearances, the story arc, etc.
Arashikage
Yeah I wouldn't expect an unreleased game to be considered canon
Drasiana
What's weirder is how Fox's head keeps inflating within the same canon.

DoctorAllosaurus
What's weirder is how Fox's head keeps inflating within the same canon. That actually kind of makes sense in a series where you fight a giant evil disembodied monkey head.
StarfoxUniverse
Personally, I like Starfox 2. And I think Wolf looks kinda boss in S.F
Ala1n-J
Also is the fact that Nintendo hasn't seemed to grasp the concept that foxes do not look like Shiba Inus; = =/= Thank you! I'm not the only one who thought this! What also irks me is how Fox and Wolf look so alike in the franchise when foxes and wolves belong to two different genus (vulpes for foxes and canis for wolves). I blame laziness for that. Back on the topic, I'll join what Hidi said. With limited textures not allowing small details like scars, it was easier to draw an eyepatch if you wanted to say "this guy has lost an eye!". Now I wonder how he can pilot minus an eye. Isn't depth perception a vital element in flight? Maybe Assault Wolf's eyepatch is a cybernetic eye, though it is only fan speculation.
StarfoxUniverse
yeah, thats what I thought about when I was once a young and eager noob at Starfox too! that would be cool if it were a cybernetic eye Yeah that's what I was thinking, it would be kinda cool if wolf did have a cybernetic eye instead of a regular eyepatch

Glad to see that someone concurs, and you also bring up an incredibly good comparison regarding Fox and Wolf; their overall facial structure is ridiculously similar to one another when it generally should not be. I love how in the facial-structure diagram you posted Command entirely goes with the exact same shape.
madame bellatrix
-i always thought it was funny how simular they look...though i personally prefer if fox didn't look so...cuddly.i mean,he fluff is cute but on ssbb and command ,fox just looks like a puppy,or yeas a shiba inu.i don't like puppy-fox -as for wolf's eye,i'd like to believe there's a freakish looking cybernetic one down there...though i was on a forum about this (research for a starfox fanfic) and it is in fact possible to fly, albeit not the easiest thing.said person would need a "Statement of Demonstrated Ability",meaning they needed to prove to the federal aviation agency they could in fact pilot a plane.(yeah...it was that serious for to have to look it up .i notice in the world of fanfiction, people pretend like wolf's eye problem doesn't exist, nobody touches on it at all) -on an interesting note: the lack of eye thing could've been what drove wolf o'donnell to be a crook in the first place.even with an 'SOAD' (statement of demnostrated ability),i imagine people would be reluctant to hire a pilot with one eye/ a damaged eye. Ala1n-J
Don't forget if you go the left(hard) path in 64 the Star Wolf team shows up with Cybornetic eyes and bandaids. The problem with that is, in Wolf's case, he just get bandaids, his eyepatch remains unchanged : I don't have pictures for the 3ds version, but I checked on playthrough videos and he keeps his plain eyepatch. There is no clue in here that he gets a cybernetic eye at this moment. And with 9 years of separation between 64 and Assault, we're left wondering what exactly his eyepatch is. Personally, I think it's just to make him look "lol imma bad guy".
Drasiana
The only comment I have to make on Wolf's eyepatch is that YOU BETTER NOT STILL BELIEVE STAR FOX AMPUTATED THEIR OWN LEGS BECAUSE GRAVITY WHEN THERE'S AN ACE-PILOT WOLF FLYING AROUND WITH ONE FUCKING EYE
Gestalt
In my headcanons i had assumed fox or james blinded wolf. Id make for a potential juicy backstory.

Geo Stelar
I've been wondering about what's with the eyepatch, too. But in an SF wiki that I found, it was stated that "or his use of the eyepatch was as a means to dim the sight of one of his eyes so he could observe flight while at the same time retain enough eyesight to read the instruments of his Wolfen, which is similar to what real-life pilots did in the early 20th Century." ...which could very well be the best reason of the eyepatch for me
