Resident Evil: Retribution

Vulvokunvrii

Question

Personally I loved the movie and its main score but one thing still remains in my mind the whole movie-

WHERE did Chris and Claire go? Will they be in the next film?

I don't like the haphazardness of Paul W.S. Anderson and his bastardization of Resident Evil. Its not that I don't understand it, its just that half time I'm wondering why they do certain things to the story. Why wasn't Jill Valentine not the main focus and protagonist of the film franchise or at least in the first three films? Instead they created a badly written character with no past or future, rhyme or reason, just karate kicking and endlessly shotgun blasting zombies who boringly wields godlike powers. Alice is uninteresting in every way and is one of the main reasons Resident Evil has lost its luster and overall pop culture appeal.

The second reasoning is that the main characters of all the games are just there and or mentioned. They just show up to remind the audience, "Oh look, Clair Redfield. Jill Valentine is here. Leon Kennedy just appeared!" Why would they do that?! What if they in the production of the God of War movie decided, "The movie won't be about Kratos, so we'll put in this fanfic character I found off the internet in his place. Kratos will be in the franchise...eventually, to establish its God of War and continue with our own story."

Or a new Star Trek movie that has nothing to do with trekking the stars or starships at all and will focus on shoot borgs in the head...THE WHOLE WAY THROUGH and have Captain Kirk appear at the end and say, "Good job."

Or Star Wars without jedi, sith, the force, lightsabers and lasers and make it about an intergalactic romantic comedy set in a bagel shop.

I know you'll think I'm crazy, but these movies ruined what Resident Evil used to be. A survival horror series that invoked fear and claustrophobia with limited weaponry. It wasn't about Scifi Action which is the film series genre is classed under, shooting endless streams of bullets and godlike telekinetic powers.

To answer your question, the Redfields will returns and perhaps like Jill Valentine did (face palm). I do watch these film because to slam them like I do it would be pure ignorance to not. I heard a rumor that the franchise is scheduled for a reboot and hopefully all past mistakes will be rectified.

I understand your meaning and frustration, no problem.

Yeah I heard once Milla Jovovich's "jig" is up he actually said the series COULD continue without her eventually. I readthat somewhere, I don't remember though.
