StarfoxUniverse
This question is for everyone on Starfox Online, "What is the hardest Starfox game to you and why?" all you have to do is post what you think is the hardest Starfox game in your opinion and why you think that. I'll go first, (you don't have to post if you don't want to) I think that Starfox SNES is the hardest because near the end they constantly throw enemies at you and the game is extremly fast paced
The Shaper
Star Fox 64 seems like it might be difficult, but I've never played that sucker. For me, it was Adventures. Not because the game is difficult at any time, albeit a tad convoluted in some of it's puzzles, but at around that Cloudrunner Fortress was around the time that the game started to become too monotonous for me to really enjoy, and I was just doing it because I felt like I wanted to finish and not because I was getting legitimate enjoyment out of it. For most of you I'm sure that was the case with Command, wasn't it?
conaly
Hi,depends. On just beating the game I believe it would be the first StarFox. Route 1 is easy, but 2 and 3 are extremely difficult.SF64 had also some more or less difficult parts, but actually the only really really difficult thing is to get the medal at Sector Z.SF:Assault is much too easy by itself, just getting all gold medals is challenging.
StarfoxUniverse
THANK YOU! The medal on Sector Z on 64 is almost impossible to get
DZComposer
The original Star Fox on SNES is the hardest. The mechanics are much-less forgiving than SF64.

The Shaper
Adventures is the one I had the hardest time with. The Test of Fear. Just- The Test of Fear. I am having a tough time believing it would take anyone more than six tries at the most.
psy_commando
Well sf snes is hard as hell on route 3 ! I beat it once, and I never was able to again ! Thanks to route 3, I now have a phobia of transparent space girders D: Route 2 is pretty easy if you know what to shoot and what not to shoot ! For example, the big stingrays, don't shoot that ! Or with the metal smasher, you need to take out only one part, so once you concentrate one one part and brake at the right moment, its very easy ! And Adventure is hard, but its the bad kind of hard.. I mean, the difficulty is forced on you and will never give you any chances, or ever seem completely fair. For example, you're at the last checkpoint of a very long, lame, and annoying mini-game and its the very last second. But, no luck for you, you were 0.001 second too late ! Its as if the devs were telling you : "D'aww, you were soo close ! What a shame ! Oh well, now do it all over again, there's no other ways ! You'll have fun, we swear ! ..*cough*.. not ..*cough*.." Most of the difficulty is obviously just to make your life harder and its really lazy in a lots of case. They really liked to get the player stuck with mastering doing something completely useless, that you won't even ever need in the game again. Such as the test of excruciating pain, a.k.a. the test of fear.. As much fun as pulling your teeth out, one by one, with the help of a string attached to an ATV ! Not to mention that its really bad for the controller ! Believe me, I saw the damages and destruction from playing Mario party on our n64 controller ! I read a couple of interesting articles in the past about how not to pace the player's progress in your game. One of the first thing they said, was that timers are bad ! Because, players have barely any control on the situation, and even the smallest intervention by the AI or environment can screw everything up, so it feels unfair instead challenging. Fox McCloud 64
Adventures is the one I had the hardest time with. The Test of Fear. Just- The Test of Fear. *shudder* I couldn't stand that. I was doing it at like 12 at night. It was so annoying having to go through stuff just to get to it and screw up again.
Icy
The original Star Fox, of course. Adventures wasn't all that hard. Some of the puzzles were a little hard for me to wrap my head around them, as in all Zelda games and just puzzle-filled games in general. But no, the gameplay and boss fights weren't all that hard, although I, of course, died many times and still do in every playthrough. The Test of Fear was terrifyingly hard the first time but after a couple of tries it should've been pretty easy, even if you failed a few more times with just getting your timing right. Mecha-Katt
Yes I agree with some people here..the SNES Starfox was..no still is very difficult x_x No idea how my brother managed to do that |D Always watched him playing it..now 20 years later I try it myself..and only can manage Route 1. The other two routes..I come to the middle..and keep losing to either that dragon-thing or that junk press. Dancing Insector is also a not so easy boss..(ok, no boss is easy there..) Patch93
SF1 is definitely the hardest, though SF64 on Expert mode still had some pretty bullshit moments too such as Katina, Solar and Venom 1.
2Tie
SF1 for sure, so far the only SF game I haven't completed.
CrypticQuery
StarFox on SNES, by far. It is fairly difficult on its own, though if you're gunning for medals it becomes a complete pain. Not to mention that the framerate and general look of some polygons make it difficult to see just what you're aiming at.
Vy'drach
Assault gave me a good challenge on the hardest difficulty vs. the Aparoid Queen, but Adventures also had that damned Test of Strength. Test of Fear wasn't a problem for me.
Geo Stelar
Starfox Command. After unlocking an ending or two, I found it very hard to continue Original Star Fox and the tests on Adventures, definitely.

StarfoxUniverse
Don't worry you'll get a game soon. But I do warn u, if you get Adventures or SNES be prepared. Like they said Test of Fear = an all nighter for just trying to beat it
Vy'drach
Why do people apparently have such trouble with the test of fear?
Mecha-Katt
Why do people apparently have such trouble with the test of fear? I don't know.. Granted, it is distracting to have all those dinosaurs jumping around and that needle doing whatever it wants a few times, but just keep your eyes on that gauge and it's not a problem at all (have to admit..I failed the first two times |D ). TrishaCat
Adventures is the one I had the hardest time with. The Test of Fear. Just- The Test of Fear. While a little difficult, I liked that part. I liked how cinimatic it was. Anyways, I'm going to agree with Adventures being the hardest I've played. So many puzzles that took forever to figure out. conaly
Hi, Why do people apparently have such trouble with the test of fear? Don't know either. Wasn't really easy, but it never took me more than a few tries.

Ala1n-J
Hardest Starfox game? Definitely the SNES one. SNES Starfox is so unforgiving. I hardly finish the Easy route! It's a miracle if I don't lose a wing with the plasma cannons, because if you lose a wing, you know you'll have a very bad time! Starfox 2 : Having no damage on Corneria on Expert mode? No problem! Starfox 64 : It was challenging, but it wasn't the hardest. I managed to finish the Hard route in Expert mode. Starfox Adventures : Sure the Test of fear was difficult, but that wasn't the hardest thing in the world. What was really hard was that moment on the Dragon Rock level, where you have to take out the tower's defences before fighting Drakor. It's all about shooting missiles AND the missiles pods with the staff, and if in one turn you didn't destroy one missile pod, you had to make another turn (not re-start the whole thing, again)! Freaking tough as nails! I had to pause after each pod to let my poor hand relax a bit. I cannot pronounce myself on Assault and Command.
Hidi
If I can get my hands on a game, then I could post something. Then we shall put you in a room full of nothing but Star Fox and its consoles. I'll pitch to the consensus: Star Fox SNES.
