Marauder, Episode I: Strike of the Desolator

A CDF commander walks into the Cantina, his steps were equal with every stride. His right arm was covered in a gauntlet-like glove over his uniform. He then stopped and looked around before entering further and then bellied up to the bar. By the look of him there was no doubt he was a veteran and no stranger to war. The fur about the red vulpine's face showed beginnings of age; grayish white hairs about his dark blue eyes almost shined of silver in the Cantina lights.

Balsa stands out of the Taxi, working out kinks gathered in her arms and legs. Striding over to Drake, she works her fingers back and forth, the muscles warming up.

"Allow me in front and we should be fine." She requests, the gauntlet on her palms giving off a glow as she does.

Rae, placed her helmet onto her head, the connection hissing as the airtight  seal  closed. "Be my guest , but I hope you know what your doing."

(BW, did you invite Snes1993? Just asking.)

"Very well," Drake said. "Balsa, you have point. Myles, you're in support. Rae, you and I are bringing up the rear. Let's move out!"

Rae simply nodded pulling her DC-15 rifle from  the magnetic holster on her back.  With a coulple clicks she warmed up the gun and  followed behind Drake. "Argo while were at it see if you can find any computers to hack into and give us info on our hostage." The white vixen muttered, a blue field  engulfing her body as her suit's defensive sheild powered up.

With carefully placed steps Balsa stalks forward, her shining hands at the ready. Her head darts this way and that, searching for threats and objects of interests. "Where we heading?" She whispers, shooting her head to the left to follow something in the distance.

"Black Sun's docking area - if Tarnis is there, they'll be holding him in a cell or something to be shipped off-world. If not, their computers will likely have information as to where he is being held," Drake responded.

"Argo is searching their databanks now, Drake." Rae replied keeping here eyes open for any more surprizes.

"Keep your eyes open, people," Drake said, following Balsa.

(BW, I forget - what weapon does Balsa typically use?)

"Anyone see anything? Balsa whispers, peaking her head out from a corner to gaze around. "Because it feels like we are stalking around in an empty room.

(Usually a Pike, but she has a weapon that i wish to keep a surprise at the moment)

"Could be that or there are only robots." Rae replied "The real guard might be guarding the cell now if they picked us up."

"I've got a bad feeling about this," Drake commented.

The Black Sun Sector was eerily silent, with only the hollow sound of the distant Coruscant traffic to disturb the otherwise perfect silence. There were no signs of combat, nor were there any indications that Black Sun was aware of their presence. It was as if Black Sun wasn't there.

"Argo, can you hear anything on Black Sun's radio channels?" Drake asked, not spotting the nearby corpse.

"I'm not picking up anything, Drake, either no ones home or their radios are dead." The orange Dragon AI replied

Drake spotted what Myles had been looking at and headed in that direction. After a quick examination, he said, "This man was killed recently - killed by a blaster. Question is, who killed him - and why?" He rose to his feet, then unfolded the stock of his AK50 and took off the safety. "All weapons - safeties off. Someone's around here... somewhere."

A soft clatter caused Drake to raise his weapon in the direction of the noise. But nothing happened. "Rae, anything on motion trackers?"

"No." Rae replied, already invisible.Unable to be seen even with inferred vision due to her mark III stealth suit, she knew she had time to look around. "Drake! 60 degrees to your left. Target is in a black and orange suit sniper rifle I think!" Rae said quickly appearing for one second, unloading a  few rounds from her dc-15S Rifle, rolling to the side  and at the same second vanishing from sight again.

With the sound of gunfire, Balsa throws herself forward, raising her hands as she does. A shimmering field of blue incandescent light erupts in front of her, Rae's bullets passing through from behind. "Stay behind me!" Balsa roars over the wubbing sounds of the shield.

A shriek sounded from the unseen assailant, who emerges from the shadows. "No need to shoot! It's just me!" she exclaimed. Drake immediately recognized this woman.

"... Kabby? What are you doing here?" he asked.

"I was about to ask you the same thing!" Kabby responded. "Why the hell were you shooting at me?" she asked Rae.

Rae appeared 5 foot east from her original spot. "Sorry!" She yelled "I had no idea who you were!" She soon added glad she only  shot  one burst and at low power.

"Kabby, what happened here?" Drake asked.

"Beats me," Kabier responded. "I only got here an hour ago. I was supposed to meet some guy - said he had information on a kidnapped republic scientist."

"Where?" Drake inquired.

"A cantina not far from here," Kabier answered. "Come on; I'll show you." She unholstered her E11 and began to lead the group toward the alleged cantina.

"Keep weapons ready, people," Drake said, beginning to follow Kabier.

"Don't need to tell me twice." Rae replied grabbing the smaller and shorter ranged Dc-15S blaster.

Myles snapped back to reality from a flashback on the mention of the word 'sniper' he rubbed the scar under his hair line and refocused on the situation at hand "Right behind you", he replied

"Following orders" Balsa said reflexively, her hands falling to her sides as the shield she projected whisped into nothing. She kept her hands still tensed, and her head still scanned for potential threats.

Kabier led the team through the empty streets of Black Sun territory, and Drake felt increasingly on edge. Something was going on; black sun had all but vanished from their own turf, with no evidence to how or why.

They stepped into the cantina, which was, in direct contrast with the area outside, active. People were enjoying drinks, talking and eating.

"Strange," Drake said, "These people seem... jubilant. Like they know nothing of whatever happened outside."

"No kidding," Kabier responded. "Only one problem; these aren't people." She walked over to one person and ran her hand through his head. His head flickered and shimmered. "Holograms," she stated.

"Why?" Drake asked.

A cough from a corner caused Drake and Kabier to look over, and see a wounded man in a dark corner. They rushed over to him, Kabier asking, "What happened?"

"Beware... Sith... Tarnis..." the man groaned, before succumbing to his wounds. After a short examination, Drake surmised,

"This man was killed by a lightsaber... I think it safe to say that the Sith were involved in Tarnis' kidnapping."

"We'll need to find out where the Sith are taking him," Kabier said.

"And I think I know just where to look," Drake replied...
