A new claymation adventure game by the creators of The Neverhood and Earthworm Jim has been successfully funded and will be coming to Windows, Mac, Linux, and Wii U. Here is a preview of the game!

This game looks WONDERFUL. I'm a huge fan of The Neverhood and it's sequel Skullmonkeys, and I really want to get this spiritual sequel. It looks just as weird and wonderful as those games were. :D

Here's a video of The Neverhood so you know what's in store. Though I'm sure Armikrog will do its own thing and change some aspects of the gameplay.

The soundtrack will also once again be preformed by the genius behind The Neverhood's incredibly odd but catchy soundtrack, Terry S. Taylor. Experience the amazing but weird soundtrack right now!

I am SO excited for this game. Say what you think of the project below. :D

NEVER AGAIN

Trust me.

The Neverhood, everything associated it, and the team that made it are 100000x better than that shitty game.

Oh wow, for a time it didn't look like it was gonna hit its target. XD I honestly didn't like the aesthetics and didn't know enough about the guy's previous games to really sway me towards funding it. Plus I only had money to back one project this month so I went for Massive Chalice instead.

I also had read about the guy's anti-gay marriage stance and that kinda clinched it - not solely because it was anti-gay but rather his justification was so childish I didn't wanna fund someone with such under developed logic. X_x http://gaygamer.net/2011/05/on_ratfist_doug_tennapel_and_w.html

Ugh.... the project was nearly not funded for his views, and I hate his views, but it also pisses me off that people (even those who liked the look of the game) refused to fund it due to the views of one of the guys working on the game.

He's just making a game. He's not going to make much if any profit at all. He and his friends are just making a game for people to enjoy, and they have absolutely nothing to do with peoples' separate views. At least he's not like Phil Fish or Cliffy B. who are total dicks when it comes to views that actually have to do with the subject- video games.

Well I think peer pressure goes a long way towards helping improve conditions in the world - it basically is a way of saying that if a person insists on being a part of the problem and contributing towards social ills (and yes, words are contagious so voiced opinions count too), they won't be supported by the social group/society they are harming.

Well, to each their own. I didn't fund the game anyways due to not having much money, but I would have if I could. I dislike his views, but the team is trying to make a great game as gamers/game developers and not as people with differing world views. I was going to ask people to refrain from mentioning the issue in this topic, but oh well I forgot. :/

What if some random guy working on Super Smash Bros. 4 shared the guy's views. Should people not support the game because of it?

If they feel it's important enough. It's really up to the individual to decide if the impact is worth the effort. But bear in mind we're not talking about "some random guy", we're talking about one of the primary creators, that changes the scope and impact a bit. That person's views have far more potential to influence people and spread farther than random employee #42. XD I wouldn't give the 700 Club my money because of their views because then that gives them the resources and legitimacy to spread them further - I think it applies to anyone with influence.

Though back to the Kickstarter - I think if the protagonist was designed better it might've appealed more. That faceless dog thing I think is right on the money but the PRIMARY character just didn't pop at me at all and looked very haphazard and bland. Not to mention, why is a random alien wearing a giant letter "T" on his chest? XD

I wouldn't say it'll appeal to everyone. The team's style is very odd and isn't supposed to make any sort of sense.

And the main character (Tommynaut, hence the "T" :P) is supposed to look similar to The Neverhood's main character (Klaymen).

I think they made these main characters' designs of both games rather basic to contrast with the complex and incredibly weird as hell things around them.

Well yes I get that the "T" is because of his name and all but I kinda got tired of that trope with superheroes, not to mention apparently his species uses the same alphabet we do? XD

And there are ways to be both simple AND appealing/well designed. Earthworm Jim was well done character design wise and when I look at both Klaymen and Tommynaut it just looks like "generic cartoon body with completely random shit tacked on". I  would've been a million times happier looking at them if they were JUST a bland cartoon body without embellishment. XD

I see where you're coming from. I obviously disagree, but I do see what you mean. I shall forever defend The Neverhood series and this game. Well, to each their own. :)
