Sol-Ratcht Saporro
Hmmmm, another hair raising question coming from Sol. Anyways, this is basically Nature vs. Nurture. And from this where do you think you stand at this point. And if any of you don't know what concept I'm talking about, I'll sum it up as easy as I can. Nature is inheriting your smartness, for instance you're family is notorious for having high IQs and G.P.As and they were the valedictorians. (Not really but you get my drift) You didn't have to do much it was mostly given to you through your blessed genetics and heredity. Nurture is gaining all of your intelligence through the environment. (What I mean by environment is outside influences such as your reading preferances, family output and ambition TV preferances, etc.) You've been out with the right crowd and you got positive life experiences that enhance your learning capabilities. You've been conditioned as the enviroment around you has been changing. You adapt and learn with each passing day. Me I say it's mostly Nurturing. My family isn't really a line of doctors and a lot of reading I do has a lot to do with my intelligence.
Mr. Krystal
Nurture definately has the most to do with it. Even people who aren't that bright can still become the smartest people in the world through hard work (and this works with many other things). I might be a sight exception. With asperger's syndrome, I'm mentally better off to deal with learning (although I do learn differently). People tell me that I'm basically a genius with computers, but don't ask me about social or emotional things, I can barely comprehend them. Kal
I'm basically a black sheep in my family. I guess that's nurture...somehow. o_O
TakeWalker
FRRRRROM MAI BAHTT! D: I voted nature. I dunno. I'm fairly egotistical about my intelligence. Or, what little I have left.

Heh I got aspergers too which is why I suck at making friends and shit. I never had a girlfriend cause of it so I developed the psycology that I do not need one and stuff. Plus anyone who does not respect me for who I am I refuse to respect. Still I excel in history and have even given lectures at school to help my teacher teach. I am also a very geographic thinker and when I think of time periods I think of the maps and political boundries of the world and stuff. I excel in many things yet its all useless in this modern world all cause of computers and machines. So I live in this dillusional fantasy world all the time and my isolation from society makes me really suck in social situiations. Cant wait till a war breaks out and the tech is set back and I will once again be useful.
Zicka
Your capacity is from nature, what you fill it with is nuture.

Leo K. Lighthouse
Ok I have some experience here, I have a learning disability, I've always had trouble doing things quickly(My memory and processing are way low) and there's no way that can be fixed, but I did a lot of puzzles, played a lot of thinking games, watched tons of educational programs, and I used to read Dictionarys for fun so my logic skill is like double normal, so my IQ levels off at about 120, so ya... My memory has always been horrible, and anymore I find if I don't do things slowly, I make lots of mistakes. I have trouble with fast-paced video games and all that. Is there a name for this? And maybe my lack of reading dictionaries and doing puzzles after about middle school has led to my apparent decline in IQ. <.< Because I used to do all that kinda stuff too. Guest Krysader
Hmm... I'd say it's 50/50. My Uncle has a photographic memory, along with his oldest Son. My Mom is pretty smart, also.. Many people on my Mom's side are wise/smart. Then again, I also read. A lot. Horses, dogs, animals in general... Nature, astronamy(sp..?)... Even some botony. I don't remember what my IQ was, it's been a year or so that I took a IQ test. I think it was 135-150.. I'm sure it was over 120 though.
Leo K. Lighthouse
120 is 20% over normal I ask you to please take another test and tell us the results and could you be more specific of how your smart, a lot of the IQ tests give a more than basic description just a number, after all We want to know as much as we can about our subjects... Dr. Wilopolis
Personally... I know anatomy on almost a doctor/nurse's level. Ever since I was about 5 or 6 I read medical journals over 'n' over... I also am good in plenty of other areas, but science, art, and drama are my top three fave subjects. I'm not surewhat my IQ is...last test was, like 4, 5, maybe even more years ago, and I had about 120... So I'd say nurturing.
Leo K. Lighthouse
Actually like most things, there's no real answer to the question, It depends on the situation... I mean no amount of nurture is going to make my adopted brother do algebra...(he's as dumb as a post, I asked him what one plus one was a few weeks back and he couldn't answer... I'm not making this up he's mentally handycapped. I try not to make fun of him for it, but he's an ass and he's totally disrespectful to everyone, always has been...)
