Lord O'Donnell
i think i have seen this thread but it was closed or forgotten or something cant remember... sorry if i brought it back well this is how these things heve changed from the begining SNES: Bombs, they are good, but they destroy only near enemies and because of being the first game you cant see far away enemies, meaning they cant be destroyed too . the explosion is just a white light that covers the screen. The SF2 explosion looks like the SF one, but it is a lot more helpful. About lasers... they are good cant say more N64: Bombs: (Here is where i think they are more helpful) they are quick very, destructive and they follow enemies for a long time. And the main reason they are better in this game is: They have a bigger radius (compared to enemies and your own ship) and can destroy more enemies or deal major damege to bosses because the explosion last longer (you can also see the blue aura which makes it look cool) and explosions penetrate walls 8) The problem is that in multi it is way to destructive (specially for pilots ) In this game Lasers make a real difference, specially "Hyper lasers" and most important: ANYTHING that touches the ground leaves a mark: lasers or enemies, even you. Adventures: Bombs: Well i cant remember but they arent needed in the game except because of the battle with Andross. i cant remember how they look or how good they are. (i havent played the game in a year) (the best explosion i have seen in a game is how Andross dies... again... by he way if he appears in another game he will have 4 appearances ) The lasers... they arent to needed just move in the screen and when necesary shot boxes. Anyone please write more about those things of this game Assault: Bombs: I hate them! but if used wisely they are helpful. Why i hate them? well, theres a limited number of them in the game (story and if memory doesnt fail also in Multi) the explosion last almost nothing they just explode and the first enemies in the screen or touched by it die, when you see the red sphere disappearing the enemies going through it doesnt receive damage. And in Multi if you hide in the back of a wall the explosion can surround you but you receive no damage. its ok if you are inside a building but (for example aparoid homeworld) a thin wall can protect you! Command: Well i dont have the game (ill get it in 2 weeks, i want it) but because of the reviews they are extremely helpful (am not sure) How they look? (i havent seen a single image of how the bomb look like or how the explosion looks like) Someone please write that
Lilacs
N64 and SF-C all the way, I Loved the big dimond explosion, and on command the bombs cover the entire screen when the are detonated.
Lord O'Donnell
yes, but in command, How does it looks? i mean, you only see a white light or the explosion covers the screen? How does the bomb Looks?
Lilacs
When you fire a bomb there is a short animation of it growing where you droped it. (good thing in command you can place a bomb any where on the map at any time you want) plus the explosion is like a big bubble but you can't see through it. Lord O'Donnell
You know what i also like from 64 explosions? they affect the scenario, for example: Zoness and Solar: throw a bomb into the water-plasma(lava for most of you) and you will raise walls of that or if in solar you see a mountain of plasma throw it a bomb and it will go down, and the Boss's giant wave (the one he makes when he jumps) can be taken out if a bomb is properly used. Corneria: Charge shots makes the water move (i think Smart bombs dont do that) and also from this level something i like was the fact that water reflects everyting All levels: remember that i say something about an "aura"? well it is moving air and you can see ships moving from the center of the explosion before exploding. This is more obvious in Area 6 where there are mines. Planet levels: Ships going down to surface because of being defeated, unlike other games, this one shows ships critically damaged ships exploding after a few seconds or you can shot them in middle air. This game is by far the most designed, when thinking of this kind characteristics, not graphics of course.
Lord O'Donnell
sorry i didnt put command in the poll sorry i just see that today so start a new poll or change the poll ¿is there anyway to change a poll? tell me how to or do it yourself
Sol-Ratcht Saporro
Nope, once it's on there it's on there. Can't change a poll when it's already posted. Um, Hmmm.....I would have to say.....SF64. It sets the standard bar pretty high for other SF games. Plus, it's the only game where you could easily level up your lasers and bombs and stuff. Assault and Adventures you had to look for that stuff like it was a scavenger hunt or somethin.
Lilacs
Plus there wasn't any charge laser ability in SF-Adventures.
