The Steam Spill Thread

Basically, in light of recent events, a place to go to both rant about Steam issues and find alternate methods of contact in case of a Steam crash. I figure the network goes down often enough to warrant this thread.

I've had my own problems with Steam, my theory on those being conflict between my necessary drivers and Steam, and since I've posted about them already, I won't talk about them here.

I've noticed Steam has been broken in different ways on different machines I've been using lately. One will not upload screenshots to SteamCloud or properly download needed drivers to run games.

The network going down? Yeah, that's annoying enough when you want to talk to a friend or browse the Friend Activity page and you can't because thay network has gone down.

I have noticed on a positive though, that the item server on TF2 hasn't acted up on me in a while.

EDIT: I'm also going to go ahead and put my Steam shinanigans thread >right here. I think it's a fitting example of Steam being messed up.

I it was like 30 minutes tops, and "scheduled" maintenance time.

Scheduled maintenance usually occurs on Tuesdays around 16:00 Pacific time.

So Steam seems to think I played Skyrim for 95 minutes in total. LOL HAVE YOU SEEN MY SKYRIM STEAM? I'M LEVEL 75. YEAH DIDN'T THINK SO.

It's done this for other games too. My online stats are the same but not the ones on my computer

My PC is doing the opposite right now!

I restored some backed up games, and it says I have around double (Give or take) the amount of playtime I actually have!

7 Hours on Team Fortress Classic? Could one even bear to play that much of it?

Every bloody time I try to start up Steam, it keeps automaticly saying an update was impossible because I had no internet connection.

I can fix it by reinstalling it, but it's driving me nuts.
