USB Mouse not working

Xortberg

Question

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Onn-Optical-Mouse/16794997

Since I'm a cheap bastard, I bought this mouse from Walmart. Buuuuuut it's not working. When I plug it in, it installs the drivers without issue, tells me that the device is ready to use, and then the mouse doesn't do shit, whether I'm clicking or moving it. I've tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling, I've tried uninstalling the USB drivers and letting them reinstall, and I've plugged it into both USB ports I have. Same result.

I won't be too terribly heartbroken if it turns out there's no way to fix this, since I did only pay 8 bucks for it and I suppose you get what you pay for, but anyone know of any ways to possibly get it working?

EDIT: And for the record, I do have another USB mouse that does work on this computer, so I know it's not just impossible. I'm just trying to replace it because the left mouse button barely works.

NEVER MIND. After fiddling with it over the past hour, I finally got it working.

Would you like to elaborate on how?  There's nothing more infuriating than coming across a topic describing an exact problem that you're having and then not having any inclination toward a solution other than it was fixed. :P

I had a program called Motioninjoy installed to let me use a PS3 controller on my computer. It used to be necessary, but now the controller works without it and I just hadn't gotten around to uninstalling it. Turns out, the drivers that it installs fuck up certain USB devices, mainly mice and keyboards. So, deleted the program and uninstalled the drivers, and suddenly it's working perfectly.
