Gift Ideas

LadyMajora1024

Question

Alright guys, I'm in need of some help here. My boyfriend just graduated MCRD SD in November and now is at MCT on his way to MOS. He won't be home for Christmas, which means I have to send him a care package with his gifts in it. I need something that he would like and that would be cute to give him or would be something he would use. My limit on said gift ideas is $75. I don't want him to feel left out of the holidays because he's away from home and isn't with family. I have only one idea so far and I want to get him a bout 3 things minimum. Any idea's would be greatly appreciated.

Ah it's good to hear MCRD SD is done, I remember my BMT back in JUN.  I had to AKA a few SDCs and the CO didn't like the TOD on the KF, so my FCO had us CTF.

As for Christmas gifts, have you tried a Marine Corps flask?  Those things are cool.  My cousin got one for his birthday from his dad.

16 dollars and stainless steel.  You can't really go wrong.

WHAT DO THESE MEAN?!?!

Also.

Being Dutch I give these for Birthdays and Christmas. Link

Giving a man a large hunk of chocolate in letter form is more than he could ask for.

MCRD SD - Marine Corps Recruit Depo, San Diego, California.

Not sure about the others, though.

How about some of his favourite things from home? Candy, snacks, a favourite book, a photo of the two of you.

Those are really good ideas :3. Im really thinking about everything he would like and I only have a few ideas in mind. Im still trying to buy him something he would love to death.

Go with food. I mean it! The quickest way to a man's heart is his stomach, after-all! Especially once he receives his station, or heaven forbid deployment. Food from home is always a comfort, and given the size of the US, there are regional foods you can't get anywhere else!

Even I, as a non-military ex-patriot love getting candy and food from home that I can't get here. :P Just something that reminds them of home. You don't need to put a whole lot of thought in to it, besides making sure it's something they're allowed to have. (I'm fairly certain that there are some things that are prohibited, but I wouldn't know what for sure!)

Just as an example, you can't get Reese's Big Cups where I am, and even if I could find them, they wouldn't taste the same. My mom sent me some when she sent me some clothes I wanted from home. :) That absolutely made my month.

Most of what I'm saying will probably only matter after deployment, but it's something to think about now, haha. :)

This is good too, and true. I cook for R3d and he's like "marry me. marry me. marry me. I need this food in my life forever" every time so yeah, food is a good option!
