"Don't shoot!" Kage half whispered, his voice almost desperate.  The LAST thing they needed right now was noise.  "If you shoot, they will all come here, and we don't have ANY time to barricade.  Just get in the house, and we'll figure things out from there!"

Those voices indeed did sound familiar.

"Oi!" Chayrlin whispers, the sharp crack of a good ole american Slugger smashing the same child from before again into the remains of the darkening house. "Get that 2X4 with the nails in it and get up here!" She points at her Macuahuitl, not bothering to use her pet name for the crudest of its kind in existence.

Things were urgent, and she knew that. With a quick nod, Roxy securely set her bag over her shoulder, the strap crossing over her chest, and grabbed Kage's hand. With his help, she climbed up and through the window, dropping down with a quiet grunt on the other side.

(Just for clarity on the RW, The stairs are still broken however the "rope" hasn't been made.)

Scott helped Lennox up. "My apologies." He looked down the semi-broken steps which were meant as a temporary trap for the zombie hoard at the others. "We should keep moving up if the zombies trample themselves up. He looked through the bedrooms for something to use. Taking off the bed sheets and mattress to get to the underside of the beds, he removed some of  the lumber interior, taking a makeshift club in each hand. He passed on to Leon, and Ryan "Can't afford to use guns here."

"Get up here, Tera" Kage said, grabbing Chayrlin's makeshift macuahuitl and handing it to the vixen.  "This'll probably do better than your fists."

Tera grabbed the base of the window and pulled herself through, making a soft bump as she landed on the floor. "Lets go find the old woman now."

Ryan noded and holstered his pistol, taking the bat in his paws. "Now about my leg..."

Kage nodded, "First we should block off the window.  That bookshelf over there should do.  Help me move it" he said, going over to the bookshelf and grabbing one side.

"The attic!" Chayrlin seethes, planting her bat into the childs skull until pulp is al that remains. "Forget the barricades, let those loud jack-offs attract all of the attention, we can camp in the attic until the morning."

Kage nodded, abandoning the bookshelf, "Let's go guys" he said, going up to the stairs and making sure the group was following.

"I can't preform a surgery safely unless I have enough time." He looked down the stairs, contemplating whether he had the time or not. What if the zombies made it up? How would he move Ryan if they did? He said without looking, "If I attempted to do a rudimentary surgery here, I cannot lie, it will hurt like hell without a general anesthesia."

Roxy couldn't help but frown slightly as she was handed the makeshift weapon. Though he was right that it would be better than her fists--better range, better force--the vixen hoped she wouldn't ever have to use it. She had only ever run when things turned bad, never fought back...

As Kage started heading up the stairs, Roxy glanced bag, one handing holding the strap of her bag over her chest while the other hand gripped the macuahuitl's handle. The attic did sound safe enough...

Chayrlin rushes again up the stairs, taking a peak inside the room she had left for anything else to aid her. Aside from the still wiggling zombie? nothing.

Snorting, she lowers the stairs to the attic carefully, motioning up them. "Both of you first, i will follow."

Tera slung her rifle back over her shoulder and followed Kage, the vixen, and the old lady up the stairs. "You sure this is the best idea? We can get trapped very easily up there.""

Ryan thought it over, but really what choice did he have? "Cant hurt as bad as getting mace in your one good eye." he said with a laugh. He leaned back on a bed and clinched a pillow case. "Ready when you are Scott."

"Do you want to get stuck in the attic, or do you want to get stuck down here with zombies?" Kage asked.  He was gonna go for the lesser of two evils as he followed Chayrlin and started up the stairs.

Though the cop woman seemed to have a point, Roxy's ears perked at Kage's own point. She thought his was a little better, at least for the time being. With a quick little nod, she turned and followed him up the stairs, moving a little slowly as she awkwardly handled both her bag and the weapon. When she reached the attic, she peered around inside; if anything were to attack them, the other woman and Kage would have already figured that out. Moving out of the way, she sat down on the floor, taking a breath.

"Anything we should do before that huge hoard gets here?" Chayrlin says, eyeing the door to the room she hadn't entered during this whole mess. "This is our last chance."

"Well... let's just say it'll keep you up. Leon I might need you to hold him down soon." He rummaged through his backpack for a small kit of surgical tools and a pair of rubber gloves. He gave Ryan a basic shot of Vecuronium in the upper portion of his thigh. He removes some of the bed sheets to hold down the leg, pulling it at tight as he could. He then proceeded to fashion his bandanna correctly and put sown some Alcohol on the area to prevent any further infection. "oh boy..." Scott muttered, beginning to open the wound further in search of the metal.

(Just saying, even though I gave somewhat of a muscle relaxer, the pain is excruciating but will simmer down over time.)

Lennox thought about something. He wouldn't done it normally, but it was an emergency after all.

"Here, drink this" He then passed Scott a bottle of strong Fortunan liquor. "Better than nothing, so to the bottom. It's all clear down it seems." There were zombies downstairs, but they still didn't realize the stairs, or lack of them.

He wondered where the others would be.

Kora's crying was still bad, though it was muffled by her mother's chest, which she cried into. Leon looked out the window and saw the zombies going rampant trying to find where the noise came from.

"The bastards are everywhere........How we are going to escape in the morning.......I don't know" he thought. He was scared and pissed at himself for causing this to happen. Star looked at him and whispered "don't be to hard on yourself. Rage makes us do stupid things".

Scott passed the bottle to Ryan. "If you're game." He continued to look for the shard of metal. Through the muscle tissue and nearing the bone, the main fragment just barely missed cutting a tendon while smaller shards were throughout the affected area. Ever so slowly did Scott remove the shards and placed them is a patch of cloth which he chucked aside into a corner of the room. After a hurried stitching Ryan was good to go. Scott fell back into a chair that was behind him, taking a deep breath. He couldn't recall if he had been breathing at all in this stress. The first time he had ever preformed a surgery in unsanitary conditions and in an inappropriate area. All he could mutter was, "All done."

Tera turned to the old woman. "Did you find food or anyother supplies in this house? It might be helpful if we are staying the night." She looked up and peered into the darkness of the attic. "Or maybe longer..."

Ryan shoved the pillow case in his mouth as Scott began to disinfect the wound. It burned worse then hell itself, but he assumed this was nothing compared to what would be coming. He tried shifting his mind from the pain and onto Tera and the others safty, but when the doctor started to open the gash in his leg he realized that would be very hard to do. The operation that came was one of the worst pain he had felt, more so then losing his eye. Even though he skipped the liquor,  he still felt that it wouldnt of made a difference. When it was all done and over, the panther was practically sweating and twitching.  "Thanks... Scott" He said between pants.

A kind gesture and no alcohol depletion. Thank goodness I was spared. The tension between Leon and Kage was enough, so some brownie points with others will help.

It was practically pitch black. The other panther, the doctor and the family we're in different rooms in the second floor of the first house, while the rest were pretty much MIA concerning him.

"Wait... I hear nothing..." The house went silent besides them. "We should be safe for now. Let's rest and wait until sunrise. Anything happens, the stairs will break and we'll realize; the windows up here are too small for them to enter" He rumanged through his backpack and got a packet of cigs from the first store and a lighter. A smoke break before sleep would calm him.

"We wont be" Chayrlin says. "I didnt have time to grab anything, the pack i have has got bars, but i only grabbed enough for one meal. That will be breakfast." She hears more sounds of zombies shuffling through the house, gesturing up into the depths of the attic. "Hurry, we can search for stuff after the hoard has passed."

Star and Kora had drifted off into slumber, but Leon could not sleep. He laid awake, staring at the ceiling and thinking about his family and generally everything that's transpired.

Tera nodded and went up into the attic. She wasnt very fond of tight spaces but she would have to get over it.

Ryan couldnt go to sleep. The stitched wound in his leg kept him up, pulsating and shooting pain through it with every heart beat. He prayed it would get better, that it wont cause a burden for the group. But most of all he prayed for the ones that slpit off from.
