Scourge
If the game is still in development, and you're already having thoughts about content for DLC, something has gone wrong.
Jeroscope
I personally dont think she will get in because of her low amount of exposure. Fox has had more than enough time to get a detailed profile ad a motive. Same goes with Falco and Wolf. Krystal, however, has had cery little involvment in the series which gives Nintendo little go off of. Also, if anyone agrees on this, Command felt like they were trying to write her iut of the series with her leaving the team in the end of the initial plotline. Take anything that occurred in Command with a truckload of salt. --- So long as Wolf and Fox are back I really can't complain. I'd still have to purchase a Wii-U or bother a friend to play the new SSB anyhow, hehe.
Drasiana
I don't think they were trying to write her out considering it ended with her joining Star Wolf. They'd be writing Star Wolf out too if that was the case.
Jeroscope
EDIT: That was going to be an argument, but I think I already stated it. TLDR, Krystal doesnt have as much involvement as Fox, Falco, or Wolf, and I think we all agree on this.
Harlow
Pit never really had much involvement on life before SSBB came along
Battlechili
I have been hoping for her being added for a long time. I really want her added. Still, she isn't as important as Fox or Wolf, and Falco is pretty popular. She'd be the next Star Fox character to add, and perhaps a new character might even increase popularity for the Star Fox series (still hoping for a Star Fox Wii U). I think its possible at least. Definitely would be nice to have a character that's not a clone. Also, if anyone agrees on this, Command felt like they were trying to write her iut of the series with her leaving the team in the end of the initial plotline. Command isn't canon though, at least for the most part. (and I'm quite glad that it isn't canon, now that I've had the chance to play the game)
Jeroscope
I think before they include her in Smash, they need to take another game to further develop her character and of course find a uniform design that works for her. Its just that the likelihood of that happening is so incredibly low as we've seen in past years (the last 8 to be specific). Metroid and FZero have fallen victim to the same fate. Jeroscope
Well, I also did a survey of the general population of nintendo gamers at my school. I interviewed about 50 people. About %20 played Starfox, but only the SNES or 64 versions of it. Only %75 of them know what it is. Every single one of them said they did not want Krystal in Smash, period, and the biggest reason was that she is only known as the "Blue tittied fox girl"
Drasiana
I'm sure the general population of Nintendo gamers at your school is way more accurate than all the online popularity polls that have Krystal ranking fairly high.
Jeroscope
Ive never seen said polls and dont know what the numbers are. Dont blame me if I happen to have a diverse campus.
Faisul
Man I wish I had the time to go ask 50 people about star fox stuff AND extract statistics from the observations when I went to school, AND not be made a total social pariah while doing it. E: you're doing this in COLLEGE??
Jeroscope
Yeah. Marching band helps a lot with social impairments. Gives you confidence and experience dealing with people. Anyway, I had time after class (my last class ended at 12) so I sat around in our community room with a notebook and pencil and took tallies on different things. The math part isnt difficult as long as you know basic algebra.

Jeroscope
Now this doesnt mean that Starfox is hopeless. It just means you need to spread the word. Tell people to download roms and such of the original and 64 versions. Tell them about the different titles or the Did You Know Gaming with Starfox. Drasiana
I'm pretty sure telling people to illegally download the games won't win you any favors with Nintendo and also is against SFO rules. Also that DYKG video is a tragedy and the metal legs incident will never be forgiven. (Star Fox is not nearly as forgotten as you think it is and also this has nothing to do with Krystal being in SSB4)
CrypticQuery
Tell people to download roms and such of the original and 64 versions. I'm fairly certain that purchasing the games through Nintendo's very own virtual console would be more beneficial, as well as generally accepted by the SF-O community. Jeroscope
I didnt think they were illegal. Ive even checked with the tech department here at my school and they say its okay. Also, how am I supposed to buy something through the virtual console when I have no money and no Nintendo consoles to my name? The only thing I have is the Wii and thats 2 hours away at home and not even mine. This also makes sense when sharing it to other people. That way they might buy the actual thing on virtual console if they have a nintendo system or save up to get one. Think of it as a demo for things to come. Lastly, how is the metal legs thing bad in any way shape or form? It makes sense. I honestly thought the DYKG episode was a cool video. EDIT: I just did some research on ROMs. Downloading them is illegal. Creating them isnt. Creating an emulator through reverse engineering also isnt illegal. But Im still not buying a Wii U til they announce a new SF title.

I honestly thought the DYKG episode was a cool video. The legality of ROMs is largely disputed and seems to vary in every context. SF-O's policy is to remove any posted links or downloads dealing with ROMs. You cannot purchase something with no money. Earn the money and support the developers by actually purchasing what they spent effort and time on to create. The metal-legs phenomenon is, at the most, limited strictly to the art of the SNES game and Nintendo Power comics. It is not considered canon and is not represented anywhere else, nor is it explicitly stated anywhere either.

Yeah, but not if its an old game and not via the Wii-U DLCs. How are we to play SF2 for snes if not that way?
Drasiana
No idea how you expect Nintendo to get the hint that we want more Star Fox games if your best advice is to neither buy the games nor play them on an actual Nintendo system. Like, what? The metal legs thing has been covered here seven thousand times, it makes literally no sense at all, tl;dr the g-diffusors make the entire idea obsolete and the only reason their legs looked like that in the promo shots is because the puppets' feet were improvised and the comic clearly shows Slippy with real feet so MYTH BUSTED and this STILL has nothing to do with Krystal in SSB4!

SF2 is a special case - it was never released anywhere. My statement strictly pertains to items that are still available for purchase. and this STILL has nothing to do with Krystal in SSB4! Seconded. It would be wise to get this thread back on track.
Jeroscope
Dras, the video says specifically that the G-Diffuser wasnt put into play until 64. The puppets were used to advertise the original for the SNES. And very well. I'll drop the argument. But I still dont see why Krystal would be in SSB4. It just wont happen. Also, I edited my previous statement. Downloading roms is illegal. Hosting them isnt.
