Kiloshi
I didn't see a topic about this here, so I thought i'd contribute in some way. Sadly, I don't play TF2, because I don't have money to get it, and my computer probably isn't good enough to play it. But I found a page about all of the removed/unused content in TF2, things like unused weapons (The Spy had a bear trap weapon), textures(The Pyro apparently HAS a face), and models (Old Fashioned Sentry Gun, anyone?). http://tcrf.net/Team_Fortress_2 Chances are, some of you already knew about this, but like I said, I wanted to contribute. So if any of you don't know about this, you can now learn. F.Y.I.: The Cutting Room Floor also has info about a whole lot of other games, so don't just stop at TF2, look at other games if you like. sroberson
The game itself is free to download and play, however, the computer concern may be what you could be paying for if you want to play...it isn't too intensive, but I dont know what kind of potato you have plugged in. The Shaper
Those class grenades look amazingly interesting, I especially gotta know what that EMP grenade does... a shame they were removed, I heard once it was due to fear of grenade-spam that you find in other FPS games, but seeing as that hasn't stopped grenade spam in the game (see Stickybomb Launcher) I don't see the rationale applying. Though, I'm not that heartbroken. I am glad that the flame-retardant suit was never added. A spy that suffers no afterburn damage indefinitely would make my job of not worrying about spies all that more obnoxious.
Scourge
Try downloading it and trying it dude! Ya wont know til ya try Its petty well optimized and at lower graphics options, you may be able to get it into a playable state... also its free so cost isn't an issue

Slow internet, no sounds (My speakers don't work), the like. 3: If my computers video card isn't good enough to play Minecraft, I might need it to play TF2, as well. I think the best bet is to wait until I get a better computer.

If you are interested in Team Fortress 2, then I'd say you should give it a go and see if it runs anyway. After all, the game is fun, and it couldn't hurt to try it. Dang, thats a lot less space than I thought it would take, I guess I should try it sometime. But wouldn't it be a little problematic to play it with no sound? My cousin screwed up my sound card a while back and now my speakers don't work.

I personally listen to loud music whenever I do which drowns out most noises, but it could make spies a little bit more problematic as well as making people on the mic impossible to hear. Look at it this way, you can keep finding excuses not to try it out, or you can see what the game is like first, provided it even runs on your PC. But in all seriousness, Minecraft can be a bit intensive, but more typically more in the RAM sector, not the video issues... and you may be able to get minecraft to run on the lowest draw distance with all other graphics options turned down. If my old school computer could run it (those things were fucking fossils), you should be able to get it working

The computer isnt too old, it's not a Windows 8, it's a Windows XP, i think. I am only like this because I had a bad experience one time when I tried to play a 3D game called Platinum Arts Sandbox. The computer couldn't handle me jumping into water, and that resulted in a blue screen, and I don't want that happening again. I can't get a better computer because we can't afford one. I live in a middle-low class household, and I have to make do with what I got.

On a side note, Windows XP will sadly soon fade into obscurity for pc gaming. Which would cause some malfunctions with some modern games.

DZComposer
CPU should run TF2 fine, but that that GPU may be an issue. It does support DX9, so it may run it at lower settings. Now, TF2 itself is a big download. I believe it is over 8GB now (and it keeps growing and growing as they add hat after hat). You mentioned running it off of a flash drive. If you do that, it will be VERY slow. Also, because I'm curious, can you go back into DXDiag and tell me what the System Manufacturer and System Model are?BTW, if anyone wants to get into PC gaming, the price floor is a lot lower than you would think: http://www.logicalincrements.com/

I had problems getting a 3 MB song to download, so I might have to resort to a different computer to get it. But i'll still give the model and manufacturer. DZComposer
OK, the Intel DG31PR motherboard can take a PCIe x16 video card should you choose to upgrade (perhaps a Radeon HD 6xxx series), and you could also add a HDD if disk space is an issue.Sounds like your internet speed may be your biggest issue, though.http://www.speedtest.net <- Check your internet speed here. Post your up and down speeds. Also, you can't simply download it on another computer and move it. You need to download it on the other machine, make a backup, and then restore that backup on the other machine.
Kiloshi
I've done the test before and I got a horribly slow speed, and somehow, it seems slower than last time.. The download speed is rounding off at 0.04 Mbps and now, the test is going so slow, I was able to get lunch, come back, and it still isn't done. It's been stuck in the same place for about 10-15 minutes.
DZComposer
What kind of internet connection do you have? That's dial-up speed, and certainly will not work for online gaming of any kind.If you are not using dial-up, then something is broken and you should call your ISP and get them to fix it.If you are using dial-up, I'm so sorry for you. Kiloshi
I have Cricket Wireless, and I have to use Dial-up because the High-Speed says a network cable is unplugged, and it's been like that since last year, and I have no idea how to fix it. DZComposer
I take it you live in an area where landline broadband like DSL or cable is unavailable? I'd be weary of gaming over cellular broadband, but it would at least be better than dail-up.I can try to help you fix your broadband connection but i need more information. Are you using an Ethernet connection to some kind of modem or router or are you using one of those USB cellular radios?BTW, be aware of your data usage. That TF2 download will use a big chunk of it. DZComposer
I just took a look at Cricket's plans, and downloading TF2 would use all of the top plan's data 8GB allocation. I highly suggest getting Cable (preferred) or DSL if it is available in your area. (It's a disgrace that in the US there are places where your choices for internet service are Dial-up or get fucked in the ass by the cellular carriers. It's fucking 2014. Rural broadband expansion should be a priority!)Anyway, I will still try to help because no one should be forced to use dial-up when they have an available alternative. What is the model of the USB radio?
