Star Fox Runner
This is just a rumor, take it with a grain of salt, and I personally doubt it, but I figure its worth some conversation. http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2014/02/rumour_steel_diver_sub_wars_is_set_in_same_universe_as_star_fox
Jeroscope
I'm personally thinking this is some major BS.
Icy
Not the same universe, but a Peppy cameo is good. Very good. New Star Fox hype train should start rolling
DZComposer
It is not. Pretty much everyone is human.
Snys93
New Star Fox hype train should start rolling ... Steel Diver is hardly a prelude to one Nintendo's most historic titles.
Jo Jo SmoOth
While I don't agree there in the same universe I do however believe this game is just a BETA test of what an actual Star Fox multiplayer game could have been. 1- Blue Team Vs. Red Team -> Star Fox team VS. Star Wolf team / (4 Vs. 4) 2-When a character talks, its Mug shots and Dialogue Appear to be in the same format as Star Fox SNES/ 64 3-Notice that the in-game menu is just like SF3D multiplayers menu. You can look inside the hanger using the gyro sensor in SF643D while in steel driver you use the circle pad. 4-There are these Boost Rings in steel diver that resemble SF Commands/SF643D multiplayer Health Rings (speaking about Star Fox Command, During the end game results, the top screen displays the distance your sub has traveled. Resembles Some-What of command's gameplay/ player must drag ships in command, resembling a flashing line just like in Steel Diver ) 5-the first mission is practically the same as SF SNES training mode. You just go threw rings... *(Not originally seen first in a Star Fox game but I would like to also point out that you can unlock medals in Mission mode)* 6-Peppy cameo... 7- The Dev's who worked on Steel Diver also worked with Argonaut, helping out creating the original Star Fox (as the article states) Looks like there's more then just a cameo ^^ Just a coincidence? what do you guys think?
Drasiana
Steel Diver had some weird Star Fox teamup before with those little buildable vehicle models, didn't they?
Dr. Orange
The gameplay is similar, the story line might be a different story. But... what if... they really are in the same universe. It's just all the humans are forced to live... UNDERWATER! Mind = Blown
