Dimitri straightens up, listening to the missions details. Not hearing his name among the assigned roles, he raises his hand slightly;  "Sir, where am I on this mission?" He says, a somewhat puzzled look coming across his face.

Ashlin took a seat in an empty chair and leaned back, kicking her feet onto the table. Initially she thought this mission would be easy, just hang on for the ride until they get to Corneria,  but then she heard the mentioning of Star Wolf and Panther Caroso. That was a good assassin on a bad ass merc team. He would be her idol if he hadnt of stopped her from completing a well paying job years back. She drooled at the thought of turning in his bounty. "I just have one question." she said, raising her hand. "What the hell are we escorting that caught the eye of Star Wolf?"

"Star Wolf, like hell this is simple... How much is this cargo worth for those guys to come at us? Are they the only ones or are there any lackeys?"

"If you would've told me fucking earlier that we would be dealing with those guys on space instead of the planet, I would've stayed black. Thank you, you ass"

"Ian and Ashlin... Fair enough"

"Right, I almost forgot. Dimitri, you'll be here on the ship. I'll tell you how to use the interface to target anything big that comes our way. Doc, if you're hearing this on intercom, you'll be with the ground team as a field medic. We'll be picking up your nurse on Katina." He turned to Lennox with an eyebrow raised. "The contractors we're escorting happen to be the ones that developed the Arwing. They're going to give us next level tech for a successful trip. Honestly, I think this is going to be a cakewalk. If it's just Panther leading the goonies then we'll be golden."

"Alrighty,-" Dimitri says with a thumbs up, leaning back in his chair. "-I'll learn that fairly quickly." continuing to lsiten to the mission brief, checking his revolver to see if its loaded. "Oops, didn't reload her after the time at the firing range." He thinks to himself as he adjusts his hat to sit correctly on his head.

   "Arwings, huh?"

Ansam listened with great interest though he was reserved somewhat. He realized that he wasn't giving the orders and was willing to what was needed and asked of him...for a fee.

"I'm more of a bus driver personally, but a space superiority fighter is nothing I can't handle. Always wanted to get my hands on one of those for a long time."

Ian nods his head as the briefing is laid out in front of him. Dressed now in his formal attire, he rubs his jaw as he thinks.

"Should we expect boarding parties?" He asks after a moment, already running ideas through his head. He would need to swap out a few parts on his gun if he was to be operating at the fullest.

"We guard this giant pile o' cash from a reknown rival team until it arrives where it has to. That it?"

"First off, it's not money. It's a package of newly developed technology. And we're going to try and keep the boarding ships off of you as long as possible, but you'll be our last line of defense if it comes to that, Ian." said Hackett.

Panther and a bunch of goonies wasnt going to be a cakewalk, but Ashlin was up for the challenge. "We'll be able to handle it." she said, removing her boots from the table and leaning forward. Perhaps rejecting Star Wolf the succession of a job was what their team needed, helping with the name in all. "Exactly how big is this ship we'll be protectin?" She asked. She prefered to use her rifle, but could switch to her smaller ranged weapons if need be.

"It's a freighter, about two times the size of this ship. It isn't armed with much since most of the power is going to thrust and intertia dampener systems," he explained. "The cargo hold is on deck three nearest the center of the ship. We may want to have some defense on the core itself as well so that they dont disable the engines. Repairs could take hours, and we want to get to the Corneria defense perimeter as fast as possible.

"Its likely if they want the cargo that much that they'll send a sizable force to retrieve it."

Ansam walks over to the map, using his cigar as a pointer.

"If I was them I'd take a flight dropships with mag-claps retrofitted on their undersides, protected by a couple squadrons in front. While the escorts are busy, I'd spit them into two groups. The first group would distract the fighters while the others make sure the dropships attach themselves to the hull and plasma torch their way through. Worst case scenario: They'll blow the freighter. Upon finding the cargo, they'll lay charges on her lateral support structures and break her back, either venting everything into space or wait for the remaining fighters to deliver the final blow. No pursuit, no witnesses, not a trace."

"From what I heard, they'll send horde of lackeys after horde of lackeys until they go "Fuck this" and enter themselves."

"Thats why Mr. West is staying onboard. The Executor is armed with heavy weaponry to render their dropships useless. We need to keep a clear line of sight for the Executor to fire its Thanix Cannons, otherwise anything in the way will be obliterated ad its kinetic force will be cut in two."

"Okay, its just a simple escort run. Where did you get your intell, Hackett? Starwolf has been known to leak false information before."

"True enough, but lets stay prepared anyway. They wont be expecting us."

"Lets just hope," Ansam said letting out a sigh, "The last thing we need is a full flung shit fight on our hands."

(Ansam to Lennox)

"Whats the matter, having kittens over there?"

"If that is the case, with the cannons and their dropships, then what use is there to have men aboard the ship?" Ian protests, puffing as he studies the reactions of his teammates.

"Shit I can't do anything without getting picked on at..."

"The gorilla's right. Even if they attempt to seize the ship they should be prepared with their own men inside. Three of us inside won't make much difference... Unless they had the spheres to leave without any security personnel and we are the dummies to fill that role..." he squinted suspiciously.

"Our client's own private security is incompetent as it is. They need people who know what they're doing."

"Well," said Ansam raising his cigar to his lips, "Ain't much use standing around. When do we start?"

"If we have our mission" Ian breaks his sentence to let out a stream of smoke. "Then i must begin my preparations."

He stands and brushes his pants. "I take my leave." With that, he turns and exits the room, making a beeline for his quarters.

"The seven fifty should do it." Ian mumbles aloud, already making the note in his head to perform the necessary modifications

"By the way, are these Arwings the old but dependable mark 1s or the fancy mark 2s like what Starfox team has got now?"

"They're the older models, but General Dynamics is supposed to be outfitting us with the new Interceptor Class Arwings after this job," said Hackett. "This is basically our first contract until we start getting the nice toys."
