DZComposer
One of the plans is to develop a custom theme for the forums. I noticed that some of you don't like things about SMF's default theme. I am not a fan of it either. There are 2 alternatives for now. See the announcements forum for details. Anyhows, the purpose for this thread is for you guys to put down what you do and do not like about the current SMF setup. This is the suggestion box for the custom theme. Mr. Krystal
At it will likely be at least 8 weeks until I can actually do the customization.
Lilacs
Some more smileys would be nice, I canĀ make some sprites of them and animate them too. On the board side just let every one get use to the new layout, you got to remember aleast some one will not like the change. [move]The scrolling text is awsome![/move]
Ludvig11
Right now im using pitch_black, it's good but I wish some things could be fixed. (It seems like im nagging about theese complaints.. but I'm not so used to this forum rigth now) Avatars, Profile-texts, some emoticons looks wierd with the grey background, forum newpost"ligths", and It's not so easy to see whitch posts are new, unread.. and I don't understand why the forum gets me out from the topic when I posts something. TakeWalker
I think, if it's possible, just moving the 'new' buttons to the front of the text instead of the end would be useful. Because every other forum I go to has them like that. <.< Why be different? And oh yes. While I can't say I miss the screen asking me if I want to go back to my post after a reply, I would prefer it if the board actually took me back to my post without my asking. DZComposer
Yeah, that not returning to the thread this has been getting on my nerves too. I'll poke areound in the admin CP and see if I can change that.
Mr. Krystal
I actually liked that feature... "Okay, I just wrote something. Now I'm going to go back and read what I just read...?"
Guest Fox235
Man, I know this is a StarFox forum, but I would LOVE a Renamon layout....That's me though *sighs*

There is a setting in the account page that changes that, is that a SMF feature or is that new?
DZComposer
It should return you to the topic when replying now. For some reason, this is a theme-specific setting. You may have to manualy change it in your "look and layout preferences" in your profile.
Leo K. Lighthouse
Did you just repeat what I said , well actually you were more specific so I don't mind...
brotheroffalco
I don't peronally like the layout that much, but if you could convert the layout to the old theme I think this could be a great move for the website, until thin I will use pitch black [move]I also love the scrolling text[/move] oh and btw I call the first new colored post of the new boards *I think*
Ludvig11
Pitch_black looks better and JaBB works better. For the most parts. JaBB is too white, and Pitch_black is alittle too dark.

I'll poke areound in the admin CP and see if I can change that. I figered that out, go to your profile and look for Look and Layout Preferences. I there you can change the returning to the thread of forum feature and others. Also has any one notce that Lilacs (My avatar) looks brighter here? Leo K. Lighthouse
Actually I come here to enjoy conversations, not just the layout or the colour scheme...
XG Fox
Pitch_black's ok, but it's too narrow for me.Ā I'm actually running the default theme right now.

TakeWalker
If this reply takes me back to the thread as you've said, then I'll be finished complaining and just settle in. EDIT: HAH. Had to change it in my profile. Also, if I had looked in "Additional Options" beneath the text window, I'd have seen the box there, too. So what, exactly, does attaching files to posts do?
DZComposer
This: Great for the art boards (takes JPEGs, GIFs, and PNGs). You can also attach txt files. [attachment deleted due to age]
Guest Fox235
Is there anyway to kinda...Make...your own theme? I want a Renamon one....badly....*pouts*
DZComposer
While, yes, you can make your own theme, it requires knowledge of XHTML and CSS. Also, it would mean that if I installed a theme for you, I would have to do it for everybody. Tht would cause database and file storage bloat. The three themes, and I may add a fourth, will stay for now. When we get the custom one made, I will probably drop all but the YaBB classic and the SMF default, but make the custom one the forum default. I've actually already created a custom theme (by making a very slight modification to a another). It's the Enterprise theme, which normally displays different versions of the Star Trek Enterprise in the top right corner. However, I switched out the images for Krystal on the KLA. Since you can select different pictures with a drop-down, we could potentially have one theme with MANY subthemes. There could be a Krystal version, a Renamon version, and whatever else. One thing I think would be good when we eventually add more smilies, is to get a smilie for every character in Star Fox. So instead of saying "Andross" we could just have a little Andross head. And so on.
Lilacs
^ I could try to make some starfox smilies, I start on some now just to see how they come out.
