Layout Changes: Suggestions

The new default is a modified version of Black Rain by Crip. The icons were made by Lilacs, and I just threw together that logo up top.

I've actually already created a custom theme (by making a very slight modification to a another). It's the Enterprise theme, which normally displays different versions of the Star Trek Enterprise in the top right corner. However, I switched out the images for Krystal on the KLA. Since you can select different pictures with a drop-down, we could potentially have one theme with MANY subthemes. There could be a Krystal version, a Renamon version, and whatever else.

One thing I think would be good when we eventually add more smilies, is to get a smilie for every character in Star Fox. So instead of saying "Andross" we could just have a little Andross head. And so on.

That sounds pretty awesome.

Now I got two more suggestions:

Being able to see when you have got new PM('s) without needing to open the message-tab first (or maybe you do, I dont really know but it's not showing how many messages you have as on the other theme)

And making it easier to see new posts in one of the child-boards, the texts looks very simmilar. (not that importaint but)

By the way.. when I tried(just tested) to post a spolier-tag, it said that I did not have any permission for doing that.

And also.. the ":krystal:" emote is supposed to be a "shock emote" there should be an other emoticon for "eyepopping".

Has anyone noticed that our smilies named "hehe" and "oops" are both :hehe:? Likewise with "colon-D" and "cool" (:krystal:).

I had to entirely redo the smilies. I was surprised that there were, initially now it turns out, no mistakes.

I fixed the cool and twisted smilies.

The "hehe" and "oops" are both listed as being embarrassed emotions. If I change it, "hehe" will become a clone of "lol."

Okay, here's where the suggestion part comes in. I think you ought to, in fact, change "hehe" to , and change "lol" to :D. Then ask Lilacs to see if they can animagif up a "lol" that's actually laughing. I've seen it in other schemes. I think it would work. If nothing else, is more embarrassed than :hehe:.

Instead of black writing on black background (CAPCHA) and white writing on white background (Avatar location) wouldn't it be better to have black writing on white background, and white writing on black background?

You may have found a CSS bug.

What page is this happening on?

Oh, sorry, I kind of forgot about this after I wrote it.

If its still applicable; there's a white box with white writing under forum profile

What OS and browser (with version) are you using? OS meaning like Windows XP or Mac OSX. Browser version as in IE 8 or Firefox 3.6. (Help -> About will tell you browser version)

All text boxes show as white text on dark gray for me (Firefox 3.6 on Windows 7).

If you're using IE 6, either live with it or upgrade.

This isn't really a layout change; more or less a suggested addition for the RP section of the site.  anyway, I was just browsing around in there and everything is pretty much nicely set up, though I would maybe suggest a small adjustment; and that is to make a subforum for character profiles. this way people can post them in individual topics instead of one huge, long topic that has a mixture of profiles and also criticism at the same time.  I've done this on my site and it's very effective; but then again its entirely up to the Admins here, and not me. xD

That's something to think about.

I agree with Shinigami. It would help make things a lot more organized in the roleplay section.

It's your decision, Sideways. If you want it, I'll put it in.
