WolfOD64
I've noticed a lot of people hate the design of the Star Fox Assault Arwings. Why is that? I think they bear a slight resemblance to the original SNES Arwings, especially when comparing the way both ships look on their respective box art. They certainly look better than the clunky, misshapen atrocities in Star Fox Adventures, but that's my own humble opinion.
Icy
Always loved them, myself.I do prefer the 64 design, though, over Assault's. They look more compact. Assault's Arwings did look really cool, though, I do agree. Very intricate. However, I prefer the Adventures design over all of them. You can shoot me, I know I deserve it. Just something about the SFAd design is so cool to me. Can't even really put my finger on it, either...
Jimmy Darnell
The assault arwing is pretty cool, though much like Icy's choice; the Adventures arwing has the best look. I think its due to the fact though that it reminds me of an X-wing and Y-wing somehow fused together and thats the result.
CrypticQuery
I have no qualms with the Assault arwings; I prefer them over Adventures' but not 64's.
russiandog38
Oh thank god im not the only one. I liked the arwing design for Assault, thought it looked a little better then the n64's arwing. But I think the Adventures arwing was best design overall.
Scourge
I differ from most people in that I actually enjoyed Assault's art direction and vessel design. Assault's arwing is my favourite model of them. Followed closely by Adventures with a new paint job and less-dented armor
Drasiana
I think the Assault Arwing looks okay, it's just a little...pointy? It's not quite as organic looking as the 64 or Adventures Arwings imo.
Icy
I thought everyone hated the Adventures Arwing wtf
Drasiana
If you thought that was weird, my favourite Arwings are actually the Command versions :V except for the CloudRunner
CrypticQuery
If you thought that was weird, my favourite Arwings are actually the Command versions :V except for the CloudRunner Though I will say that Panther's ship in Command, with it's single-gigantic laser, was pretty sweet. xD
Drasiana
Either your reaction image broke or my internet did D: I'm serious though. Look: I feel like this design combines the best aspects of Adventures and Assault's. While it has some of the sharp, sleeker elements that people enjoyed from Assault, it also has the longer, more--er, shapely--fuselage and hints of colour that we liked in Adventures. Ships like the Skyclaw and the Bullfrog were also good in conveying the personalities and traits of their pilots while still clearly being Arwings. I thought this was a good route to take in that, while they might not be the most realistic or practical of vehicles, they had the right degree of fun and personality for a cartoonier series like Star Fox, and emphasized the slightly more rpg-esque elements that I think the series should draw upon more (and in better ways than Command did). Command's artstyle was pretty awful in basically every other regard, but the ships were one of the only things from that game that I'd like to actually see again.
Ori
Assault's style was rather nice with the overall-sleeker concept. I'll side with Dras when to say Command design is my favorite one though. Albeit the vodka+LSD-trip induced style on everything else the Arwing was rather nice. Somewhat reminiscent of the R-series (R-311 specifically) of aircraft from Ace Combat 3, but that may be just me.

No specific reasons come to me... I think the 643D Arwings look awesome. They have a nice blend of the compact style of the original's, while adding small, technical details to their design...like manufacturer's warnings, and stuff. If you thought that was weird, my favourite Arwings are actually the Command versions :V except for the CloudRunner I liked the fact that the Command ships had unique names. Arwing II, SkyClaw, Bullfrog...even Wolf donned his Wolfen with the badass title, the Red Fang. Reminds me of how each racing machine in F-Zero had its own name. I hope they preserve that feature in a future Star Fox game.
Scourge
I'm tempted to make replicas of all the arwings in Kerbal Space program and see which ones fail most spectacularly All of them seem to have an issue with their wing placement (waaaaaaay too far back* regarding lift and whatnot but that could probably be fixed with a bit of RCS control... ThatOneSonicBro
I've never heard any hate from the Assault models? However, I would support the hate for the ugly Command models. ^^" I liked the Assault models, however, like most I would prefer the 64 models. Not that I didn't like the 64 models! The Assault Arwings just seemed a little...(what's the word?) bulky? I think it was something more to do with how tall and then the G-Diffusers were, I'm not sure. Just my opinion! ^^
Zukaro
I prefer the Star Fox 64 arwings, and I actually did quite like the Star Fox Adventures arwings too. As for Star Fox Assault, I do like them too, but I would have preferred to see the Star Fox 64 style arwings. Basically I like how they had the smooth bottom, whereas in assault they were just too pointy. As for Star Fox Adventures, I think I liked the arwing in that a lot because it had a ton of detail to it. But my favourite are definitely the Star Fox 64 arwings. Although the Star Fox Adventure's arwing is very close too. It just feels more like a proper aircraft due to it's size and the fact you can actually walk up beside it. And I actually do like how it looks a lot too. So really I think it's just as my fave as the 64 version. As for Star Fox Command; I never played it. The main reason why I never played it was I looked at the box art and saw what they made Fox McCloud look like I DO NOT like that design. Also, I'm angry at Nintendo for putting that design in Brawl and then carrying it over to the next SSB game. I loved the model from SSBM, that one was perfect. The way Fox looks in Star Fox Adventures and Assault are the best models; personally I prefer how he looks in Assault. Although looking at pictures of Fox's Arwing from Command, I think that one looks pretty good. :v In fact that might actually be my favourite arwing design because it really looks like a proper aircraft. But I will never forgive how they made Fox look in that game. :v
