Probably the best picture I could find at such quick notice.

They kind of look like Aviators, what do you all think?

Nope, that there is Harry Potter frames, sunshade edition. Common misconception.

I think that aviators would be the best guess.  Aviation and aviators practically go hand-in-hand.

Now let's play guess the movie!

They are definitely aviators, for both the historical basis in protecting the eyes of pilots, and for the Top Gun reference.

I never thought of that, especially the Top Gun reference!

James was also pretty good at homoerotic beach volleyball

and he had a tendency for his ego to write checks his body couldn't cash, which made him dangerous, so iceman didn't like him

I mentioned this in another post, but James's glasses in Assault have a very...well, let's call it a Gurren Lagann look.

  • 2 weeks later...

If you want to don on Tom Cruise's role of Maverick in Top Gun then I would say go with a pair of the original Rayban aviators that John MacCready issued his air force pilots to wear during 1929.
