Request suggestions for Starfox (SNES) Fansite

Hello fellow Starfox fans.

A few years back I made a fansite for the 1993 SNES Starfox game, which you can find here

It didn't get much attention at the time, and I went on to do other things. Now I'm seriously considering giving it a redesign, and adding allot of new content. I'd love any suggestions you folks might have to help me make the site worthy of the game.

Thanks for reading :-)

Somebody other than me give feedback on this

this has been sitting on the forums for the past several days and deserves more praise than what I can give.

I'm shit at praise, I'm so much better at insults

Regardless: Nicely done man, I wasnt much a fan of the SNES game, preferred 64 myself, but you do good service to it. Glad to see theres still interest

Thanks Scourge, I appreciate the praise.

I have so much stuff going on at the moment, the redesign is on hold. But It's great to hear from another fan. I also love Starfox 64. I think it was quite possibly the best game in the series, although I'm biased, considering the 64 is the newest console I have :)

I actually like the look of the site in its current incarnation; it has just the right amount of a "dated" appearance to match perfectly with the games. I'd rather have the background a darker color though, perhaps with some celestial elements [e.g. planets, stars].

On that note, however, great work on the content of the site! :)

Thanks OneUnder!

Originally I had a star field background, similar to the one on this site, with an Arwing flying. I thought it looked pretty good, but the folks at overclock.net said it was awful. I hadn't thought of adding planets, maybe I could add some like they had in-game on the horizon, or maybe change it back to being in space- over venom this time.

I think it would be cool if the Corneria music was playing in the background. It is one of the best video game themes ever, and it sounds amazing on SNES!

Background music these days is considered terrible design because it can be annoying.

Perhaps the gradient in place (from a lighter blue to darker blue) could be in reverse with the the very top going super-dark blue almost blackish. Sorry, I suck at color names

This way the bottom of the page could represent an atmospheric range while top reaches just out of the atmosphere..slightly into the grasps of space.

Thanks for the suggestion Gestalt. That sounds like a good idea.

Sorry it took me so long to reply, I seem to have missplaced my password and the password reset option wasn't working for me until a few minutes ago. Probably an error on my part.

Maybe the Page could be like an encyclopedia.

The main site could be the old Ingame Map & by clicking on each planet / stage, either a new site opens up or a menu pops open with information & screencaps of each stage.

The music could be optional for each stage in the background & should be muteable somewhere.
