Just... wow.

This recent content is awesome as heck. I'll be honest, it's actually looking better than a some standalone large-brand games around. o.o

I especially like this Krystal redesign. The face paint is a neat detail! :3

Just downloaded the demo, and despite not knowing what the hell I'm doing (haven't played freespace 2 in a couple of months so I forgot all the important controls) I'm really impressed with how everything looks. Now I just gotta set it up to work with my flight stick.

I cannot believe that only now I have learned about this game's existence. This is absolutely tremendous! Just looking at the videos showcasing the differences between the different ship classes shows what kind of effort was put into this game.

I have a question. Is there an estimation for system specifications at this point? I understand that FreeSpace2 is a 15 year old game, so I am assuming there were massive overhauls in graphical and sound output capabilities for this mod, as well as optimization for Windows 7 and 8 OS's.

The game is technically standalone and does not need Freespace 2 to run, there's a demo at ModDB to try out if you'd like: http://www.moddb.com/mods/star-fox-event-horizon/downloads/star-fox-event-horizon-first-demo

There are a lot of overhauls to the engine vs when FS2 was released.

So the Blue Marine will be in space levels as well as "underwater" ones? And did I see the submarine pop off to turn it into an interceptor? NICE

Not sure how I feel about Slippy technically "not being a member" of Star Fox though.

God dammit, I downloaded the demo installer from Mod-DB, tried to install it on my computer, and said 'The Window Installer package could

not be accessed.''. I think there's something wrong with how my computer tries to open .MSI installers.

This is shaping up to be one hell of a game. Can't wait for the full version to come out.

But you know, even this is only a demo right now, for me, it feels like a beta rather than a demo, mainly because
there's no time limits before the demo times out, no only-one-or-two-missions, no 'Sorry, this option is not
available in the demo' messages.

Just downloaded it and played it, and oh wow, THAT MUSIC. Those Cornerian and Saurian themes... I love fully orchestral pieces of BGM that just pound away in your ear, making you more and more tense.

Well... the first level is just about ready:

If anyone would like to voice James, Peppy, Pigma, Andross, or General Pepper let me know.

I just now found out about this and I can't wait to play through that story. (I was thinking that Kate was Wolf's sister but supposedly is Wolf's daughter... Wonder who the mother possibly could be o.o) Like everything about this story so far shouts new and different and AWESOME!

The gameplay/levels are looking pretty nice too. There seems to be a good number of background stuff going on which makes the level look more alive (Although do those stray bullets from the space stations/big ships actually damage you? Or is it there for looks?

That music, so POWERFUL! I am very impressed with what I have seen in your latest video. Even though it is the first mission, it honestly looks like it would be quite a challenge. I don't know if you can still make changes to how the text from character dialogue is presented, but if I may suggest something, perhaps you can have text appear on top of a "text box" background? I found that sometimes the environment background made it harder to read the text in the video. Either that or many have different levels display the text in different colors to avoid clashing?

Hey, I'd be interested in doing some voicing. I have a British accent about my voice though, but when I do a deep, growly voice, it does sound quite sinister. Perfect for doing Andross's voice I'd say.

I've done many a voice acting and not just for SFO. My voices are more comical, I would say, but I can do a list of serious tones.

It's not looking too bad but it needs a bit of polishing.

  • The cut-scene translations from gameplay seem janky. I know Freespace 1 nor 2 had in game cut scenes, and  including them now is probably new territory, but it needs some polish. Wouldn't it be easier to make some sort of fade into a new scene, rather then have the game reorient the craft like that?
  • The Peppy Warp sequence just went on for way too long and approached comical levels with how much fire he was taking. Is it even possible to fail that part and have Peppy blow up from enemy fire, because from the looks of it you could just sit back, let the enemy fighters wail on him, and it would still progress. I hope there's a plan to maybe fix that or make it a bit more of an actual challenge.
  • The combat seems slow, even slower than Freespace combat. I feel like that's because it's in 3rd person rather than cockpit view, but it feels like the 3rd person view's field of vision is way too wide and is contributing to that slowness. If there's a way to limit the FOV maybe try it out and see how the visual speed of combat changes?
