AplabTheSamurai
In Star Fox 64/3D, the inside of the Great Fox's hangar was shown to be as wide as almost four Arwings side-by-side. When viewing it from the outside, however, it's shown to be as wide as only one Arwing. Also, if it was that small, how will four Arwings be able to fit into it, much less the really long path seen in the opening sequence? And according to an official document I found on the web, the length is almost one space kilometer (which could be represented as one Earth kilometer) And in Star Fox: Assault, we can see that the hangar bay's exit is slightly slants downward (Like this:) Top / / / Bottom Also, it even looks like that on the outside. So this confirms my theory that the ship is larger than shown in 64/3D. (Except for SSBB, where Sakurai was being plain lazy and used the exterior size from said game.) Scourge
This has been something that has bothered me for a while, and the simplest answer I can come up with is; Modeling a greatfox of its full scale is hard, and Nintendo is lazy... that, and hardware restrictions. Gestalt
Mainly what Scourge said. But if i were to BS it, In Star Fox 64/3D, the inside of the Great Fox's hangar was shown to be as wide as almost four Arwings side-by-side. When viewing it from the outside, however, it's shown to be as wide as only one Arwing. Also, if it was that small, how will four Arwings be able to fit into it, much less the really long path seen in the opening sequence? Inside the hanger the wings are folded [more-so in Assualt (they are almost touching) than in 64] Also, all four never quite come out at the same time. Even in Assault's rapid release one nose is ahead of the other which means they could be released in a compact formation which allows them to fit through an opening that may funnel just a bit. There, that shaves some of the confusion off.
Fedora
The Great Fox is about the size of 100 of your average clown cars.
