I've been thinking: how will Nintendo advertise the new Starfox game, especially with the jumbo-mumbo type of fans? Where will they do it? And how?

That aside, would it not be safe to assume that they'll market it conventionally, as they always have done? Look at the marketing campaigns for other, recent Nintendo games and you'll pretty much answer your question.

[Also, why is marital status even an option in the poll? Is there even correlation between that and video game purchases, let alone causation?]

Well, a big problem with the series (if we can even consider it a problem) is that the game seemed to be made for teenagers and young adults, but it ended up appealing preteens and even kids! To make a commercial, you've gotta aim it to an audience, and who the heck is the audience anyways, if there is over 9000 people of different tastes and ages?

Crazy, I feel you bro, but it's like a thing ... y'know?

I mean like on the third date or when it gets freaky on the honeymoon?

"Want to purchase a Starfox game."

No you didn't get it. Maybe seeing Fox and Krystal married will appeal to married couples, but not singles. Got the point?

He did get it, and was making a joke out of the statement. I doubt that the circumstance you are describing has any sway on the marketing strategy, but to each his own. I'd also like to add that the tone of the games were undoubtedly marketed toward children and preteens, much more so than the groups that you claimed they were marketed at.

I don't think Fox and Krystal being in a relationship appeals to literally anyone who has ever actually been in a relationship

also there is no problem with a children's game being marketed towards children and it will be advertised like any other Nintendo game is advertised

Nah Star Fox was always meant for kids and teens. It will always be for that demographic. Like with all nintendo games, teens and adults can appreciate and get just as much out of the games as children, but they're who the games are marketed for first and foremost.

OK, so Fox and Krystal kissing and such, the space dogfights and etc are for kids? ok.....

Have you ever actually seen anything that is actually marketed to kids or do you think that up until age 15 everyone just exclusively watches the Boohbahs or something?

Yes. But Ness and Paula is one thing, Fox and Krystal is another.

I dunno Dras, I've been in a couple relationships that can relate to Fox as in my girlfriend meeting my parents in loincloth and eventually running away with a band of Mercenaries.

Fox and Krystal do not kiss even once in the games, so that's irrelevant. Also there is plenty of kissing in things meant for children. Cartoon/abstracted violence is something that children also enjoy (see: old Tom and Jerry cartoons). Star Fox is for kids.

This in-house Nintendo game headed by Shigeru "Human Avatar of Innocence" Miyamoto will definitely be a festival of sex and gore.

When u make a topic

Ppl gon talk

If you can't handle someone disagreeing with you, then don't express an opinion. There are valid points in this topic and telling people to stop posting and just vote on your poll is really not how it's done. The art of discussion is not done alone.

Hum? The "squawking" is the only reason any of us are here.

Also, it's kinda of hard to put what everyone could possibly think in some polls. I would know, I've ran into it myself.

btw: Can we please start using more of SF boards for more of the SF stuff. I know it's a SF forum, buuut its kinda dusty over there:

Actually since this is a poll it can go here. DZ made the Polling Place especially for polls.

I think that they should focus more upon increasing the quality of the game(s) themselves as opposed to a massively irrelevant marketing campaign.

I'm trying to think of other massive marketing campaigns for Nintendo IPs and coming up blank. I mean most recently it's been Sm4sh with all the special character reveal trailers but that's a special circumstance that wouldn't necessarily make sense for Star Fox.

Really don't see the marketing being anything other than some commercials and your standard game store poster ads, with maybe a special WiiU bundle.

Exactly why they should innovate, Drasi! Ambient ads and Facebook ads don't cost much in comparation with TV and print ads, and still, they are good, since they cause a big hubaloo between citizens.
