Pokken Tournament, what are your thoughts?

I was just browsing Youtube when I found this

As you can see, it's a "traditional" fighting game created from both The Pokemon Company and Bandai Namco. The game is in it's early stages of development, as it is easy to see some of the choppiness.

 

Do you think this concept could turn out to be a good game, or just a quick cash grab and a forgettable game?

I read it was being developed by the team that did Tekken - that's a good sign. I'd love to see it get ported to the Wii U and localized in the future. The fact that there hasn't been an HD Pokemon RPG on the Wii U yet is astounding; I'm sure that an announcement along those lines would increase the Wii U's profitability immensely. Hell, they might just get me to buy one.

Agreed. They should know what there doing and one would assume they will be able to pull it off. I would assume Nintendo has high expectations for the quality of the game.

 

I would also assume that it will be ported to Wii U in the future, as outside of Japan arcades aren't really a thing.

Large part of it will be determined by the roster, but I imagine even if every pokemon was playable, it'd be a fun, but niche game that is overlooked largely.
