geoprimedonna
I’ve been thinking lately of how a Starfox RPG would look like, mainly based on the Nintendo RPG’s (Legend of Zelda, Fire Emblem and especially Pokémon and EarthBound/Mother) If Starfox was a MOTHER-based RPG, I think this would be what it would be like. Fox McCloud: plays Ness’/Ninten’s roll in MOTHER 1 and 2, respectively, just with a bit less of the PSI attacks. Krystal: plays Paula’s roll. What else can I say about these to telepath protagonists? Falco Lombardi: plays Loid’s/Jeff’s roll. Why? Do I have to say anything else??? Slippy Toad: Boney Toad King Porky Poo. Aaaand pronto. The plot? The plot can be the same, I guess… Maybe we have to modify some stuff… Temporary party members and etc: Peppy: The Annoying Old Party Man. DO THE BARREL ROLL! DO THE BARREL ROLL! Tricky: Plays King’s roll. Literally. Bill: Plays William Henry Gates’ roll the camera guy roll. Katt: Awkward for the MOTHER series, but plays Kumatora’s roll (Falco is Lucas…) Monarch Dodora: Plays the Booka roll. Pigma: (sic) Does Porky’s roll. So? What else, guys? geoprimedonna
I'm just gonna give this a solid nope. Well, I don't think it's a bad idea. Many Starfox players play RPG's as well, so I imagine it's something welcome... But, then again, opinions are opinions...
DZComposer
I think the point is that if they were to make a Star Fox RPG, it should be made as a Star Fox RPG and not taking another game and swapping the characters out.You know what happens when they just swap characters? You get Star Fox Adventures: A product that did neither Star Fox nor Dinosaur Planet any justice.
Patch93
Yeah let's just focus on getting another major Star Fox game please? No spin offs right now, we want the series to get back on its feet.
Ori
I mean no offense, but I think the idea is a bit out of the window. I'm not really well-lettered into the world of MOTHER/EarthBound, but the way you specify it, it sounds too much like a literal copycat/fox/bird/animal version of the games - just as the others said. Extra: the RPG format would not fit StarFox. Now, we've already seen endless discussions and debates about the on-rails/free flight format of the game, and there's still no accord, though one thing is for sure: I think it's a general consensus that the RPG format such as from Fire Emblem or Wakfu or Pokémon would not work for a game whose highlight is fast-paced space combat. I don't believe it's proper to be cutting the 'Star' part of StarFox in a StarFox game. To put it simply, it's like trying to teach a kid how Hawking radiation works in FTL fields and expect he grows pointy ears and decides to be fascinated at everything. And as DZ noted, just as Adventures did a bad job crediting Dinosaur Planet and SF itself, StarFoxBound would not only be putting the two games into a blender and pouring the sludge that comes out without a thought, but that would also make fans rage from the simple fact that it's making a character swap of two games that didn't get anything significant besides cosplay costume cameos and swedish youtuber references in, at least, the last 5 years. It's pretty easier and less risky to just make separate games. And no, a crossover doesn't sound a passable suggestion either. [...] mainly based on the Nintendo RPG’s (Legend of Zelda, Fire Emblem and especially Pokémon and EarthBound/Mother) [...] Also, LoZ is not a RPG. Peppy: The Annoying Old Party Man. DO THE BARREL ROLL! DO THE BARREL ROLL! Styling and aesthetics note; the text loops after the first half.

Drasiana
The only currently-existing RPG format that might work with Star Fox is something along the lines of Mass Effect/Dragon Age. Customizing the behavior and equipment of your teammates might be a pretty cool element to add to Star Fox, and it's real-time combat. It wouldn't have to necessarily be on-foot shenanigans either, those attributes and party selection could also apply to teammates who are in an Arwing/Landmaster/etc. ...so I say the Bioware format could work, but it'd need some stretching to work as a Star Fox installment anyway.

But we can make a sub-game with this guy: After all, what in the world happened to him??? Oh! And DZ, the 8 melodies are "The 8" from your album!
