Crash-happy Firefox since update

Redeemer

Question

Inb4 OMG FIREFOX SUCKS GET SOMETHING ELSE go suck on IE you poops

Okay, so ever since the latest Firefox update, I crash. A few times a day. It freezes, and I have to go to task manager to close it. I've googled around but can't really find anything relating to this specific update. Does anyone else have this issue or know of it, and what can be done? The Firefox support site is pretty crap.

It's likely there's a bug in the update. You probably don't wanna hear this but I'd recommend using another browser just until Firefox gets a new build. Try Tor or AlienForce

Try completly uninstalling Firefox, then redownload it and reinstall? When I used firefox, it would give me issues constantly after I closed. The threads would never close correctly and it would tell me it was still open and to go into task manager to kill it. After a while, I got sick of having to deal with that, so I switched to Chrome.

I do hope you get your problem fixed though.

Okay, I got a fix for this.

Step 1. Uninstall Firefox completely (This is important, it has registry things that may conflict with stuff and could possibly be a problem.

Step 2. Go to Google's home page

Step 3. On the top right should be a message telling you to download Google Chrome (This button is quite important)

Step 4. Click "Download Google Chrome"

Step 5. Follow the on screen instructions

Step 6. Enjoy your new super fast and amazing browser! :D :D :D

Or if you INSIST on having firefox, then the only thing I can really think of is uninstall completely. IObit uninstaller uninstalls things completely, even down to the registry things. Then re-install it and see if it was some kind of conflicting thing in that.

 go suck on IE

And I hope you choke on it.

I don't want to avoid the problem, I want to fix the problem. As I already said.

I'm going to wait and see if the bug gets fixed because I'm normally very happy with Firefox and want to continue using it. If all else fails I'll do as Sideways said and try reinstalling it from scratch.

If Firefox continues to give you trouble after the re-install, might I suggest Pale Moon? It's a Firefox fork so it's pretty much the same save for not implementing that horrible Australis UI. Just make sure you spoof your useragent, though (about:config, gereral.useragent.override), because as of version 25 it doesn't tell websites it's Firefox anymore and that makes sites shunt you into lite versions.

That is quite interesting, yes I'd consider that if all else fails. Thanks for informing me, I'll look into that.
