Songs downloaded on Samsung Galaxy S4 not showing up in music app

Arashikage

Question

So I ripped a CD to my computer while at school, and much to my dismay realized I forgot my data cable at home.  No biggie, I just uploaded the album to my drive, and downloaded it on my phone.  It wasn't until after I unzipped it to my music folder, and I tried to find the album I realized there was an issue.

For whatever reason, nothing I play will detect the album.  Google Play Music, the Samsung music player, and Shuttle all fail to detect my album.  I've restarted already, and still nothing.  Any idea as to why this could be?

Alright.  So you uploaded the full album as Mp3s onto Gplay and it isn't seen on play music? I'd check if your phone is on DL only for music. Then sync the play app.  If both fail check the uploaded program google requires you to get for uploading. The program has a history of bugging out.

I don't know if the music player detects other sourced .mp3 files but if I could think of anything I would place the collection of songs under the music folder and sync the phone system to Play Music.

I'll try that.

I should also mention that all my other music is from CDs I ripped to my computer, so I just drag and drop to my SD card's music folder and they all show up fine.

Try redownloading the files again and put them with the rest of your music. You might have to reset your database too. I used to have to do that everytime my phone would show two of each album.

Did you extract the zip file? I doubt the music player will do that for you.

Yes.  I stated in my first post that I unzipped it into my music folder.

So when I got home last night, I just plugged my phone in with a data cable and moved the songs out and then back into the music folder, and my player started detecting it.  I have no idea why that's a requirement.
