How freaking awesome are those?

...Too bad I can't save the picture. :) Can't screencap it because it's too big.

You can't right-click and save the image, or simply drag the image onto your desktop? There are far easier ways to save images than screencaptures.

Screencapping is a secondary solution. Save As gives me a "blank.png", which I assume is so that people can't save pictures off of DA. I have never heard of desktop dragging.

Well there is a way you can get the direct source of media on Firefox, just "right-click"  click "view page info" switch to the "media" tab and just scroll thru the content it should be there... (I used to do this with Flash files (.smf) when I still had dial-up, I could save them on my computer and open them without going online.)

That sounds like an attempt to keep people from copying the images. But that technique is like 5 years old and easy to get around.

*does some tests*

I can't duplicate that behavior on Firefox, Opera, or Safari. Are you using Internet Explorer? Try clicking and dragging the picture from the webpage into a folder or the desktop. If that doesn't work, tell me. I can find a solution for you.

On dA.. When I want to save something, I use to right-click, press "settings/options", and then copy the adress-link to a new window, and then save it from there.
