I'm sure you guys are familiar with electrostatic Discharge. It manages to build up in my headphone cord. When I plug it in to my iPod or tablet, everything is fine, but my PC is ultrasensitive to static. I have tried tapping the end of the cord onto something metal to discharge it before I plug it in, but it still gives a little shock to my PC half the time. For a while, the shock would just knock my mouse offline for 5 seconds. It actually burned out the USB port the mouse was plugged into, and the mouse is in a new Port. For the longest time, this was the only noticeable effect of static. However, today it knocked my graphics card offline for a few seconds. This concerns me. Does anyone know a good way to solve this static issue? I don't want to burn out my GPU whenever I plug in my headphones.
