Review of Star Fox Wii U?

Hey. Out of curiosity, is anyone planning to review the upcoming Star Fox Wii U game once it comes out?

I would if I had a Wii U. However that said, I don't believe in reviewing games as soon as they come out. The first impressions of a game are usually not synonymous with how you end up feeling about the game in the long run. I wish it was industry standard for game review sites to not "review" a game until 6 months go by at least, but they gotta rake in that bribe money right?

I think a big issue with game reviewing in general is that oftentimes writers will start to talk about what they expected from the game before even starting to play it in the first place, instead of simply talking about the game and ONLY the game they are reviewing. They start to go on about how Game X and Game Z already have "innovated" in certain ways that the game being reviewed has "failed" to do so. But that's another topic altogether.

My mini rant aside, I would be weary of reviewing a game early because your first impressions could be overly positive or overly negative, and by the time you reach the end of the game, you may come to have different opinions about certain aspects of the game than you first did.

I think that when we all get the game, we will all review it as we play it to see if we lIke it. Usually comes with playing the game.

I'd be interested in SomeCallMeJohnny doing a review of it on YouTube when he can get around to it.

Not like it has anything to do with getting the review out while the game is relevant and plenty of people haven't purchased, played, and formed their own opinions already and what not.

The game probably can't be reviewed till E3 2015 as supposedly they will be showing some footage of the game at the upcoming event. The only thing known was during that april fools nintendo direct they secretly uploaded this website: http://www.starfox-horizons.com/

All we know is it comes out Winter 2015, it's called Star Fox Horizons, and is co developed by Platinum Games (Bayonetta 2 team)

Pretty sure that was proven fake a while ago. Pretty sure they also wouldn't use up the P-bomb on a silently-launched website.

Fake as hell. The domain is not owned by Nintendo. Some guy in France owns it and it is hosted on the same server as "mybodyisreggie.com." Yeah, it's fake.

Anyways, I'll do it...

Actually, I can probably already give it a review based on what's been shown and told about it. Flying in one direction, shooting in another? Co-op play? That's two solutions to problems in other flying games such as even Project Sylpheed for Xbox 360, where you have to fly directly toward a warship with guns blazing at you to defeat it.

Hmm too bad it's fake. Well supposedly they'll show the next Star Fox at E3 2015 soon. I am curious to see what the plan is, but am kind of hoping it sticks to the more shoot-em up style way, the Wii U is capable of a lot with Nintendo games, let's hope they don't screw it up... As for a review we can only hope it looks well to the players. I wouldn't mind doing a play through on my youtube myself when the game comes out, may consider it.

Completely unrelated but how is this topic here and in Ask-SFO at the same time? It's creeping me out.

Redirect link. It was posted there originally and I moved it here. I leave links when I move threads so staff don't get our inboxes full of "OMG! Why was muh thread deleted?!" PMs.

It wasn't a normal redirect thing, like every time someone posted in the topic it would pop up as the most recent post for both forums (like, the posts you can see from the main forum index). It isn't doing it anymore now though, but it was super weird when it was happening. Possibly was just a quirk of the new system's redirect topics.

When I updated to 4.0.5 it had to do a post rebuild. Maybe you were online before that got reconciled.

Maybe, it conveniently stopped doing it after I questioned it so there's probably some kind of forum ghost trying to make me look crazy.

e: actually, I don't know how much sense this makes but I think it got stuck somehow and it took someone replying to a different topic in Ask SF-O for it to break the cycle of weirdness. Like it was still trying to pull from that topic despite it being moved because there'd been no other activity in that forum since doing the whatevers, or something

Waaaay ahead of you. I'm even going to have a series of review of the previous games. Except Star Fox Command and Star Fox 64 3DS for obvious reasons.

Star Fox 64 3DS? You don't like it? Well, I guess I can understand if it feels like you're paying twice for the same product.

Its not a matter of me not liking it, it's a matter of me not being able to record the video footage. See there's this thing called money... I don't have it.
