ArwingFan
The e-shop exists, so why is it still unreleased?
hoo
Wouldn't it make more sense to release the original Star Fox before releasing the never released before SF2 game on the eshop? They never released it on the SNES, so why would they put it on the eshop? Edited April 25, 2015 by HOOBANANA
Dr. Orange
Because it was never finished. Close to completion but never finished.
Arashikage
I believe Starfox 2 and Starfox 64 are really close together. If I'm recalling correctly, by the time they got around to making Starfox 2, the SNES had become old, and the Nintendo 64 was either new on the market or just being finished up or something, but when Starfox 64 came out I'm pretty sure it had a lot of the features and story they wanted to put into Starfox
DZComposer
Several reasons:1: The game wasn't finished, though it was close.2: The developer, Argonaut, went under. The code may not be available any more,3: Nintendo's VC Emulator does not support Super FX games4: The game was essentially deprecated in favor of SF64. Elements of SF2 ended up in SF64 and SFC. ArwingFan
Thanks for the answers. Though it's sad to see this game get tossed when it was so close to completion. Edited April 26, 2015 by ArwingFan
geoprimedonna
Thanks for the answers. Though it's sad to see this game get tossed when it was so close to completion.Did you see Big N's anouncement on Facebook? There will be an app which each Amiibo will unlock an NES or SNES game with him or her. Could be a chance to see a remake of SFX1 or SFX2 happen (as if the WarioWare game didn't have a SFX1 cameo...).

geoprimedonna
Guess so... But in that case @DZComposer, how did they get a mini-game of the 1st level in SFX1 in WarioWare (http://starfox.wikia.com/wiki/Star_Fox_(WarioWare:_Smooth_Moves))??? Although the bosses are R.O.B.'s, I still think it could be a step forward to the launch of the game (or a level, like in WW) for the app.
DZComposer
how did they get a mini-game of the 1st level in SFX1 in WarioWareThey coded it from scratch like every other mini-game in WarioWare. It was native Wii code, no need for Super FX emulation. Edited May 8, 2015 by DZComposer

The VGM Lover
Ugh... so why won't they just do that, then? Lose preservation, or something? I wouldn't care! If it's the same, or even close to being, I'd get it! I'll race to the 7Eleven and get myself a points card thingie, slam my money on the counter, add it to my points... THINGIES, and get that game on my N3DS XL!!! IT"S PERFECT FOR IT!!! IT WOULD PROMOTE THE 3D EFFECT, BEING ONE OF THE FIRST TO INCUDE 3D GRAPHICS! IT WOULD... IT WOULD..."Are you ok, Fox?" - Slippy Toad, Star Fox Assault(Exhausted)... Yeah. I'm ok now...
Hope(N Forever)
So, it was recently confirmed by Dylan Cuthbert in an interview with Nintendo Life that it is possible to technically release the game today via digital distribution, but the ordeal is highly unlikely due to serious legal problems, which is apparently a ghost of the past that Nintendo does not know how to rid of.
Jeroscope
Oh cool. They used Layeyes art in the article.Anyway... Yeah. Legal issues could ensue and we already know that Nintendo is TERRIBLE with law practices outside of Japan. I could see Star Fox 1 being released though when Star Fox Zero hits the shelves.
