StarFox MMO - a interesting concept

Ever since I've seen this StarFox: Event Horizon on the web, it's got me to thinking, thinking of what it would be like, if Starfox had its own MMO game with a lot of features:

-Create your own custom character and starfighter.

-Have epic PVP dogfights with other players

-play Storyline mission with all the StarFox Characters (including Krystal, Miyu, Fay, and Fara, cause lets face it, even they need a chance to be in the spotlight too.)

-have special event to escort convoys, take down Venomian Remnants, and even have showdowns against Star Wolf.

and much more, but let me remind you, this is just concept, who knows if this ever becomes a reality.

Here are some of my suggestions for it:

  • You're custom character could be a member of the CDF. He could take part in what was suggested on the fourth point.
  • The game might include a Campaign, with Factions whose missions can intertwine.
  • The campaign could also incorporate your custom character in Planetary Defense Missions.
  • A soundtrack feature after you finish the campaign. Time to relax!

So Elite: Dangerous set in the Lylat System?

I'd be down for that.

Yeah, combat simulator, yes. Trading, not really, space adventure, probably not, but yes, Combat simulator, which might be similar to UndyingNephalym's Star Fox Event Horizon, but as differentiated as possible.

Its an idea that could work, especially with the Wii U (and future NX) they could make a fun multiplayer MMO work fairly well. The game could thrive too on bringing ships and missions from the different games, such as being able to buy either a Lylat Wars era Arwing or an Assault era Arwing. One of the few things I did love about command was the online multiplayer, was fun to get in a dogfight with a group of 3 other players.

Top kek.

Star Fox doesn't have enough back story to make an MMO from without having to add so much to it that why not just create a new IP?

Honestly, the only Nintendo IP at this point that should be considered for an MMO is Pokemon. It's really the only Nintendo franchise that makes sense for having one and it would sell a whole lot more than a Star Fox one.

Actually, a Pokemon MMO would make bank for Nintendo and I'm surprised they didn't roll-out Nintendo Network with one. :yuno: NINTENDO, Y U NO MAKE POKEMON MMO?!

...but, on the other hand, they could elaborate a story with an "occult" character as the main character(aka NESS...) (take Yaru as a clear example ;) ) and make an EarthBound-esque RPG, with the PK's and PSI's and laser guns and bombs and epic bosses and enemies and a sweet-sour story behing it all and those awkward people furries and Nintendo references and an ABSURDLY LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG (OR SPIRIT TRAIN, OR ARWING, OR WHATCHAMACALLIT) and an animal (possively a Dodora or Tricky) to make memes and bully around with and finally, last, but not least THAT EPIC THEME SONG AS THE CREDITS!!!!!!

Well, Junichi Masuda has always been very much scared of doing things online. In some of the latest interviews he claimed he doesn't want the game to have DLC or patches that adds content. And he came up with the excuse that, some people may not have internet.. (Yet trading pokemon is required to evolve some of them.. What kind of logic is that? If you don't have internet at all, and live in the woods, you probably won't see anyone with a 3ds and pokemon either.. )

And well.. Nintendo gave itself the mission to censor their web services for kids, and protect them from life. So that their parents can skip on raising their kids. So them coming up with an MMO that wouldn't be managed like one of those gloom books about the future, like Farenheit 451 and etc, is asking a little too much I think XD

But, I'd love a pokemon MMO ! (Especially a PMD one XD)

Like all other MMO's, it'd fall flat on it's face.

The only nintendo franchise that'd even make sense as an MMO would be Pokemon. If yer lookin for reasons why, look at DZ's post.

#Gimme that Zelda and PKM goods yo

But If Nintendo ever makes a MMO, it's gonna be one of those where they have an open world where all the franchises are accessible and every one is happy and merry and Mario engulfs the entire thing.

Makes sense, there is a pokemon online game now but I think it's just a shuffle game. A pokemon MMO has been in demand for years... But you know Nintendo it takes them a bit to recognize cash cows. Except maybe a few times...

It sounds fun in theory but you and I both know that a Star Fox MMO would like immediately just degenerate into Second Life's Furry Community 2 with 200% more guns

A Zelda MMO? How would that even work?

ITT we all know SF could use something to appeal in a online scale but it would need some serious world-building and there's not a lot to work upon. There's the comic universe but WELL, there is the torn-fanbase problem with the classics/post-64 dispute. And the gameplay format (Team deathmatch? Story-based campaign? Cooperative campaign?) is a whole other can of worms as people can get picky about that more often than not.

Hyrule is a huge expansive land of magic and fantasy and general cool weirdness with lots of dungeons and ideas and has a ton of playable races. Go the LotRO route where no true world PvP so everyone's on the same side and make the story about idk Ganondorf and Vaati and Majora's Mask all come through a time portal to fuck shit up but this isn't a time of prophecy so there's no HERO OF HYRULE so it falls on the masses to MAKE A STAND against EEEEVIL.

Or you could just do a WoWclone about the Imprisoning War but fuck that noise.

I personally see a LoZ or a Pokemon MMO more likely. However I do like the ideas you had and really wish they were put into a reality. The create-a-character caught my eye because I love creating characters in games (hell, it's why I play Saints Row so much) so I would love to do one that has to do with Star Fox.

I wanna see Fox, not Link. Link has enough perks from Big N, our Foxy-Woxy doesn't. They really could see the Fox poop money like in Platypus Evolution money coming if they invested more in the "abandonware" series (HELLOOOOO, CPT. FALCON!). F-Zero could earn in online arena in a future version (think SSBB or Splatoon), Metroid could earn extras like in the past (guys, what happened to Nintendo Easter eggs??? Stuff like UFO Kirby in the begining of the game, Justin Bailey, Out of this Dimension, and heaps and heaps and heaps of EarthBound Easter eggs. So much cool stuff in the past, what happened to the awesome stuff? JUST because NP ended doesn't mean this has to end, too!), and, as for Starfox, an RPG or even a life Sim (aka "make-your-own-furry") would be good. You could interact with other members using StreetPass and play missions with the main Starfox characters. So much to do, so little attention... :(

  • 1 month later...

is hard to see a posibility of a Star Fox MMO , even if i would love to see it

the only one Nintendo series that more likelly become a MMO is Pokémon and like most fans i want it so bad (no mather is a main series MMO or a Mystery Dungeon MMO)

but

like it say in a post before, Masuda is the director and is denying the posibility of a MMO showing a terror of the genre if you ask me  but anyway, it already say no

WAKE UP MASUDA, IS A BIG CHANCE FOR THE SERIES

thats all
