DZComposer
So, I have started the new theme! This theme will be largely based on the IPB3 theme. After playing with some other ideas, I think I liked that look the best so I will be basing the new theme on it.I believe I have it mostly usable right now, but it doesn't look great yet as I still have a bunch of changes to make to it. For instance, getting the responsive background image and logos going. If you wish to use this theme, you may, but please understand that you are using a WIP theme and there WILL be CSS bugs! And it looks kind of like crap right now, but that will change as I build and tweak things. Also it is possible that things may break while I am working on them. You can select the theme from the "Theme" menu at the bottom of the page. It is called "SFOIPS4." Of course, any and all suggestions are welcome.NOTE: I do not recommend using the new theme if you primarily use SF-O on a mobile device. While most of the responsive elements will work, the image load will be heavier until I get the responsive background and logo working.Things I am going to change:Nav menu colorDark CKEditor skinAdd logospositioning of menus and the rules link Edited June 9, 2015 by DZComposer
Dr. Orange
ooooghhhhhhhgggghghgggggggg dark colllooooerrererrrrrsdsssssssIf I had one comment though, it's really dark and details like notifications are barely standing out. Might try a dark grey in place of black or a brighter grey and red for the accessories.

DZComposer
That's odd. I didn't change anything related to that.
CrypticQuery
I can't even begin to describe how great it is to see the custom theme working, albeit in a preliminary state. It's practically breathtaking as compared to the default one. Is there any possibility of inverting the colors of the thread reply box to match with the dark aesthetic of the theme (i.e. instead of a white background with black text, could it have a gray/black background with white text)? DZComposer
How quick a black text box happens will greatly depend on whether or not I can find an existing dark-bg CKEditor theme. If I can't find one, I will need to code it from scratch.
CrypticQuery
I see, and by that I mean that I have a relative grasp of the matter with my limited knowledge of the forum's software, ha. Don't sink all of that effort into it if it proves to be a convoluted or otherwise unfathomably complex process then; it's a minor gripe after all. DZComposer
I think I cracked this nut finally. Damn CKEditor is a pain in the ass to customize....
Dr. Orange
I got one question/error to report. I'm usually login in 24/7 but the theme change logs me out. Now I get to the site and have to log into the default theme and then log onto the new site theme. Just pointing it out.

CrypticQuery
Thanks for inverting the reply box at practically a moment's notice as well. I do like how the background remains stationary when the foreground scrolls - it looks especially interesting in relation to the arwing at the top. DZComposer
Fixed a usability issue.I noticed that simply bolding unread items like the default theme does doesn't differentiate them enough with this theme's colors. So I made a major color usage change.Links to unread items now show in the same red as the unread items indicator on the forum list. Because link hovers were that color, those are now amber which pops a lot more than the red did. This change might be temporary, though, as different colored links generally mean "visited link," but until I can come up with a better way you can at least obviously tell which threads have new posts now. CrypticQuery
You're right about the colored link =/= visited taking some getting used to, but it's a good workaround for the time being. I think that the yellow/amber link hover is a bit off-putting though. Do you think that a shade of green would be a better fit? The sticky logo is green, as is the bit of sector Y at the top of the page, giving it some precedent.
DZComposer
The sticky logo is not going to stay green. It will probably become blue or red.EDIT: It will be moved to the left of the thread title, too. It doesn't differentiate stickies good enough on the right. Arashikage
The new theme is looking great! It's so nice to have dark colors on all the sites I visit now! The bright white and blue was a bit glaring.

Only weeks after my introduction thread, the upgrade began, and suddenly I found the site looking... quite different. I lowered my activity here for a few weeks upon that, until I asked if it was ok to continue posting. Special Thanks to OneUnder for re-assuring me. I am so glad that this site is back to its original colors and then more. I love it.

DZComposer
Remember, everyone, that the theme is a work-in-progress. There ARE things that are unreadable or don't look just right. These things will be fixed as I get to them.
DZComposer
OK, I think the theme is to the point where I can push it out to everyone. It's still in development, so please offer suggestions and report CSS bugs!

CrypticQuery
This is great; the red hover highlight looks especially good. There seems to be an issue with thread titles that are stickied though. See the image below.
