CrypticQuery
There is a severe lack of E3 2015 threads (only one by OneUnder for Star Wars Battlefront), so I decided to take up this grand opportunity to make a thread where we can all put everything we saw in this year's E3 that is deemed as pretty cool. So, anything from videos to news articles to other things are welcome here. In fact, to make living a little bit more pleasant, this is also the place where we can put pretty cool E3 things in general, regardless of the year. Post away, everybody!(^ This thread was originally started by Arminius. Here's his OP.) -----I'm not going to lie, I found myself smiling like an idiot while watching this. Perhaps it's just the nostalgia train making its rounds, but color me enthused. Also, it's good to see both third and first person perspectives. Arminius H O Fiddywinks
Ah, I remember playing Battlefront 2 on the original Xbox: space battles, on-foot fighting, switching between first-person and third-person, using the Hero/Villain characters such as Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader, the Assault mode... I want this. No, I NEED this! (And apparently Greedo finally learned to shoot first.)
Owner/Technical Admin Sideways Posted June 16, 2015 Owner/Technical Admin Share Posted June 16, 2015 Xbox One finally getting 360 Backwards Compatbility this fall. I hoped they would do it.
CrypticQuery
Okay, so I royally fucked things up while trying to merge my Battlefront thread into yours. It's fixed, sort of. ---With that said, I finished up Ubisoft's conference a little while ago. Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: The Wildlands looks pretty good, but I hope that it doesn't suffer from the traditional Ubisoft open-world formula (i.e. climb this tower to unlock more of the map and open side quests, etc). CrypticQuery
No Man's Sky becomes more and more impressive every time that I see it; that part when he pulled back on the galaxy map and the audience went nuts pretty much summed it up! Media Molecule's Dreams is amazing in that I can't describe it and yet it looks like something beyond comprehension in the best way possible. I look forward to learning more about it in the future. I appreciate Firewatch's bright colors and mystique behind its storyline. The disembodied voice over the radio is a concept that I like as well, and I'm not just saying that as a fan of two-way radios. I was never that good at Hitman games, but I'm glad to see a new one is coming out. I never got around to playing an Assassin's Creed game, but Syndicate, or as I like to refer to it Assassin's Creed U WOT M8, has a setting that is oft underrepresented in contemporary games, which I can appreciate. CrypticQuery
That Batman teaser was fantastic. I loved the Checker taxicab at the beginning and the overall 1940/50s NYC/Gotham aesthetic. The GCPD officer's accent was accurate as all hell, and I did appreciate that you could hear his duty belt and cuffs jingling as he walked to the booth in the back. Clearwater
Two things I'm keeping my eyes open for this year at E3: Hyper Light Drifter and Kingdom Hearts 3. Both Heart Machine and Squenix promised there would be details of both games, so if any of you see anything about 'em, please post them here! Drasiana
Aside from the weird minigame-spinoff-thing obsession this time around there's a good chunk of games here I really want now: The Last Guardian (!!!), Horizon: Zero Dawn, Dishonored 2, Kingdom Hearts 3, all good deliveries (plus, y'know, STARFAC). A Good E3. Edited June 16, 2015 by Drasiana
