Arminius H O Fiddywinks
Korben saw how uncomfortable Zefran had become. His scans had shown no physical abnormalities to the Katheeri, so clearly there was something else amiss. When Zefran went outside, Korben followed. He unholstered his blaster pistol from a hidden holster in his leather jacket. "Something wrong?" asked Korben, looking around, and then at Zefran. Elizabeth noticed the two of them leave, and she followed them to the doorframe. Upon noticing Korben holding his blaster, she readied hers by holding onto the grip, but not unholstering it. Tiger Carson
Tiger and Zera had finished eating their sandwiches, and resumed their search. The change in weather didn't escape their notice though. "Huh, the weather report didn't say there would be any bad weather today..." Tiger said as he looked up. "We may need to get an umbrella." "Yeah, too bad we can't simply transport one to our location." Zera said with a chuckle. "Or have Mark send a crate our way." They both had a chuckle, and quickly looked around to see if there were any shops with umbrellas around.
Sylono
"Just a coincidence, huh?" The vixen mumbled under her breath, giving Renard an incredulous look. A likely story if she'd ever heard one, then again outside of their first impressions back on Corneria, Shepherd didn't have a solid enough reason to be suspicious beyond the earlier stated impressions she had of the fox. "Consider the matter dropped, then." Shepherd finally said as she raised her hands in a 'I'm-backing-off' gesture.
Zaphyr Stone
"I'm not sure." Zefran mumbled, looking out at the desolate dust bowl. It really was empty out here. No wonder so much crime occurred here. There was plenty of room where no one was watching you. A strange twinkle caught his eye, and in stunned silence, Zefran watched a thin beam of light pierce through the clouds and strike the earth behind a rise with a brilliant flashing crackle. While completely alarmed and startled by this, Zefran felt a compulsion to pursue this light. Something about it was oddly familiar. Without even thinking to alert anyone, he took off as fast as he could after the soft plume of dust rising from the strike point.
Arminius H O Fiddywinks
"Damn!" said Korben, as the beam of light speared the ground behind a small ridge line. He dashed when Zefran took off towards the impact site. "Goddamn!" "Woah woah woah!" exclaimed Elizabeth, running after the two of them. "People! Shep! Renard! Help!" Elizabeth gestured to the duo still in the station.
Renardfrost
Ren's other thoughts were pushed to the back burner as the light and sound took precedence. " Well.. I'm not sure in the way of leads, but I'd say whatever that is, would be a pretty good start." he said as he made his way towards its direction
Tiger Carson
Tiger and Zera heard the noise, and looked to see the dust and the tail end of the light hitting where it struck. "What in the?.." Zera said in shock. "MARK!" Tiger, without hesitation opened his comm channel, and shouted into it. "Ready the Sanctuary Tiger! Wait for Copper and Jeena to get onboard, and then launch!""Affirmative!" Mark replied over the comm. Tiger then called to Copper and Jeena, who were just getting into Hangar 12 themselves. ----- "Whoa, would you look at the size of that ship?" Jeena said upon seeing the Szabla. But she was cut-off by a loud call from her comm."Jeena! Copper!" Tiger's voice said over the comm. "Get back to the Sanctuary Tiger, NOW! Macbeth looks to have just been attacked, and we may be the only ones who can respond!" "Roger that, Jeena and Copper out." Jeena turned to Copper, "Looks like we just got our work cut out for us." With a nod from Copper, both of them headed back where they came at a full run. ----- Back at the town... "Let's move it Zera!" Tiger said as he took off at a run. "Right!" Zera said as she bolted after her brother. They both ran to the source of the light, not knowing what they would find.
Sylono
"Wha-?!" Shepherd turned the moment she heard Elizabeth, though she herself only kicking off to a sprint after Renard rushed past her. Seeing that Zefran taken off at full speed towards, well, she figured at this point she'd already missed it, Shepherd figured she'd have to find out as soon as she reached it. Arminius H O Fiddywinks
Ilya was speeding down the broken avenue when suddenly a bright light illuminating the urban area like a flare caught his and others' attention. He, while still going down the street, stared at the light falling from the sky. Unfortunately for him, Ilya ran a red light. Even more unfortunate, the driver of a beat up jalopy was caught unawares when Ilya ran that red light, and slammed into the dragon mounted on his motorbike. Ilya was pushed over the jalopy as his bike was thrown under the old car. He tumbled over the car's roof and landed several meters away from the scene of the accident. Thankfully, no bones of his were broken, although he had received several nasty scrapes to his face, arms, and hands, as well as multiple bruises. Ilya lay there on his back, reluctant to get up. "Oww.... that hurt...." uttered Ilya, struggling to sit up. He eventually did get on his feet, and limped to his damaged motorbike. The driver of the jalopy, a middle-aged deer, got out and affixed his glasses to an approaching Ilya. "Oh my gosh, I am so sorry!" said the deer. Ilya disregarded every word from the driver's mouth, and instead punched him in the stomach, which caused the driver deer to recoil in pain. He stumbled onto his car, and slid down to the ground, grasping his stomach. Ilya picked up his bike, still staring at the light, and continued on to the BHK Spaceport. He puttered away on his bike, which was now in desperate need of repair.
Zaphyr Stone
Zefran was in the midst of a disconnect. Everything around him disappeared, sounds, sights. He was on a singular path, unaware of his own growing fatigue as he ran without falter. Something there was calling to him, beckoning closer. He could feel it down on his core. His wings ached with an instinctual desire to be freed. He slowed up only as the inclined grew steep on the rise, his climb still without falter. On the other side of the rise was a singular plume of rising smoke and dust, obscuring his vision. A dark figure emerged from the misty column, and with a great gust of wind from a pair of black and silver wings, it peeled back to reveal a familiar creature. It was clad in sleek lightweight silver armor and a peculiar helmet shaped like a gaunt horned animal. It looked up at him and froze. The face of the helmet collapsed and peeled away, and Zefran was staring into a pair of equally surprised unearthly violet eyes. The fur on her face was as rich a black as her wings. She didn't appear to be much older than he was. Zefran knew why this seemed familiar. He had found another Katheeri.
Arminius H O Fiddywinks
Korben ran up to Zefran, who was standing on the ridge. He stopped next to the boy, who was staring at a figure from the mist, with eerie, violet eyes. Korben scanned this figure, and noticed the same energy readings coming off of this figure as came off of Zefran. Then came the wings. Korben knew what this was. "Another one," he thought. Korben raised his pistol at the Katheeri in a weaver stance. "Who! Are! You!" yelled Korben. Elizabeth clawed her way up the ridge and staggered to her feet, noticing the mysterious Katheeri. She was panting, and lethargically pulled out her pistol. "Who's that?" she asked.
Renardfrost
Renard Had finally Reached the top, Taking some time to huff and pant a bit before looking at the other katheeri. He wasn't really sure what to make of it, but here merely raised his hands in a manner of " I won't draw my weapons unless I have reason to" " Well... This is cool.... and a little awkward." he stated, a smirk crossing his face
Kurt
He was already tense. Another one, or more, had been hiding in the building. His plan was to clear them out. Silently he crept up to the door, weapon at the ready, when he was hit with a blinding light. 'What was that?' what ever it wasnow had his full attention. Rushing back to the red Benz he pushed the body off the hood, tossed in his rifle and got in himself. Sylono
After having finally caught up with the group, Shepherd paused to catch her breath and draw her weapon like the others though she kept her aim on the ground. Though recognizing (well, more assuming when she got a good look at it) the creature the others were staring at, the vixen didn't allow the new Katheerian to keep her attention for much more than it took to confirm what it... er, she was. "I thoroughly doubt we're the only ones to have noticed all of this." Shepherd voiced aloud as she reached for a her personal multi-tool, as well as turning on her PDS for safety reasons. Zaphyr Stone
"Wait, no!" Zefran panicked when he saw weapons drawn, but before he could do or say anything more, another streak of light made contact between the new Katheeri and the group. The blinding flash made him reel back. Out of the disipating mist sprang a larger figure, armor clad like the other with sleek cloudy gray wings. He charged towards the group, wings curled around him like a shield.

Tiger Carson
"Another one?!" Tiger roared as he saw another light strike the ground. "This is definitely not good." He then called Jeena and Copper again. "Where the **** are you two?!" ------- "Tiger, watch the swearing!" Jeena said into her comm as she and Copper made it into Hangar 7."You're telling me to watch the swearing?" Tiger replied, "Another beam just came in, this is an all out assault!" "We're about to the Sanctuary Tiger!" Jeena said, "Should be there in five minutes by air after the launch countdown finishes. Jeena and Copper out." She then cut him off. "Come on old man!" Jeena said as she bounced up the boarding ramp, and landed gracefully inside the ship. Copper himself scurried up the ramp so fast he went airborne for a second. He then chest planted on the ground, and let out a gasp. "I'm getting too old for this..." Copper said as he picked himself up, and inputted the command to raise the ramp, and close the door. "We better get to the Arwings, and prepare to launch." "Now you're talking my speed." Jeena said with a smirk, and the two went for the launch bay. Meanwhile, the Sanctuary Tiger's engines roared to life, and the ship began the countdown to launch. In three minutes it would be airborne again. ------- Meanwhile, Tiger and Zera continued on their way, noticing some police cars roaring to the scene, and passing them. "Think we could flag one down to get ourselves there faster?" Zera asked. "We'd have to flash our IDs." Tiger said, "Unless one happens to pull in front of us, and tell us to get in that is. We're still having to run!" And so the two did continue to run, but Tiger had to note that Zera had a point. If they only had their Arwings, they could get there faster. Heck, even the Landmaster could move faster than they could on foot.

Dr. Orange
5 hours ago, Arminius H O Fiddywinks said: Bohdan nodded as he heard Antoine's notice. He then took attention to the rottweiler amongst them. "So, Johnny, is it?" he asked. "What is your story, if you have one that is?" "My story is like anyone else's," Tom said looking straight. He didn't wish to elaborate too much on his past but at least provide enough to the story to lead on. "Grew up here. Had a good couple fun years before I ditched the place." he said slowly trailing off. "It was fun while it lasted." He had a distant look, like a rebirth of old memories but he pushed those into the back of his mind. What were they they doing? Oh yes about to shake someone down. He looked to Bohdan. "What about you?" he said raising an eyebrow. "What's the real story?"
Sylono
The sudden blinding light was more than enough to convince Shepherd that perhaps drawing her blaster was not a bright idea. Luckily for her, she'd been fiddling with her gear and had one eye that wasn't temporarily blinded, issue was, it was her left. And with her one good eye, the vixen spotted the large armored Katheerian (assumed once again) charging the group, and made a quick decision to prioritize Zefran's safety. "Zefran!" In a few quick motions, Shepherd dropped her multitool, reached for a pocket on her belt and retrieved an explosive device, then threw it in the direction of the of the aggressive armored creature. Her aim was a bit off, yet to her it didn't matter since the grenade activated and rocketed towards the nearest metal object, which was now the big bad. A magnetic grenade. She then ran towards the Katheerian in question and put herself between him and 'it'. With luck, any attack that may hit would be stalled by her PDS, she simply had to hope Zefran would leg it... Or maybe the stars would align and this would all turn out to be some big misunderstanding. A misunderstanding that she just tossed a grenade at. Arminius H O Fiddywinks
Yet another light came careening from the sky. By now, Ilya had forgone going to the spaceport, and instead elected to go to the rail yard. He made a hard right down a small street that led to a dead end, where a fence that separated the town proper from the rail yard was full of holes. Ilya stopped his bike, got off, and limped through one, taking cover inside a nondescript rail car. He took out his binoculars and observed what was going on. Through the obscuring mist, he could make out three distinct and odd shapes: canine-like cervines with wings. "The damn stories are true," said Ilya in slight disbelief. He then noticed one of them charging at a group gathered on a ridge. ~ The second light temporarily blinded Elizabeth, who fell back, rolling down the ridge. Korben's sunglasses, however, filtered out the blinding rays, and he instead began to fire several plasma rounds at the charging Katheeri. ~ "My story?" Bohdan asked rhetorically. He was of course going to answer Johnny's question. "My story is this: I was born in a far away place a long time ago. I grew up with my brother. Then we joined the army. Fought together. Killed together. Protected each other." Bohdan then grew a more pensive look on his face. "Then, he died in my arms on the battlefield. My father, mother, even my sister-in-law, they died on the same day too." Bohdan looked at the ground. "Then I came to your Lylat System. And that is that, I suppose." Renardfrost
Damn... So much for diplomacy, Renard drew the blaster from his hip and immediately began firing, focusing on center mass, hoping his shots would eventually pierce the wings. He hoped it would drop quickly, he'd rather not have to draw his sword.
Zaphyr Stone
Zefran watched in shock as Shepherd moved between them. Hesitant at first, he made to get away as she had ordered, but he was rooted to his place as he saw the new Katheeri move in response to the attacks. A wing swiped at the incoming rounds and deflected them with a glowing green barrier, much like the one Zefran had produced to protect Antoine on Corneria. The grenade affixed itself to his breastplate, and he curled his wings back around himself tightly, the barrier growing brighter and more vibrant. Something erupted in the center, and with a massive unfurling of his wings, he unleashed the force of the explosion outwards on his attackers. He moved in for another attack when a forceful cry froze him in his tracks. "ENOUGH!" Zefran, who had been knocked down by the blow, looked up in shock as the girl from earlier walked up with surprising calm. Her air was cool and stern, and the man dropped a knee and bowed reverently before her. "A thousand apologies." she bowed her head to the group, "This is my..." she glared back at him, "overzealous...bodyguard. He must have seen your drawn weapons and assumed the worst. Is everyone all right?" "You...you're like me!" Zefran scrambled to his feet, "O-or I'm like you!" He fumbled with his emitter and switched it off, the wolf disguise melting away to his natural state. ---- Antoine looked hard back at the sudden commotion and urged the two along. "Come on, we better hurry." He hurried them along down the alley to a bar tucked away in the corner. The entrance sat at the bottom of a small set of stairs that snaked below the street level. "Remember, tough and scary. This place can get pretty rough." he warned them both before leading them down into the dimly-lit establishment. The bar reeked of cigarette smoke that soaked into the walls and hung in the air like a thick curtain. Surly characters sat at the bar with mugs of beer and ale. Others chatted at tables, and a select few were in the midst of a game of billiards. They all looked up as Antoine walked in with Bohdan and Johnny. "Well look who it is!" came a dusty cough of a laugh, a husky scraggly-furred cat getting off his barstool to approach the new group. "Annie, you smug prick, how the hell are ya?" "Oh geez, oh darn, Sal." Antoine grinned at the cat, "You got fat." "That's 'cause I get to pay the skinny ones to do all the dirty work now. I can afford to be a little soggy around the midsection." he laughed, looking back at Bohdan and Johnny, "These, uh...friends of yours?" "Some colleagues of mine." Antoine corrected him, "They don't say much. I need to talk to you, Sal. Privately." Sal eyed the three carefully and nodded. "Sure, pal. There's a room in the back." He lead the three behind the counter to a supply room in the back. Edited May 23, 2016 by Zaphyr Stone Forgot about Antoine!
Renardfrost
Renard whistled as he put his gun away. " As I live and breathe... Looks like you guys weren't so lost after all!"
