Katheeri

"Zefran," began Bohdan, "I know a Katheeri when I have seen one. They were described to the letter in The Sacred Texts of my faith. I have seen multitudes of them in my travels. You are Katheeri." Bohdan sighed, stepping back. "You say you have no knowledge of Aiolius?"

The clone did her best to observe the creature the group surrounded, before taking note of how well the group was armed, sizing them up individually before as a whole... Obviously they had strength in numbers, and armed with her dingy little blaster she'd likely not even give the dragon in their crowd a blister. Perhaps it would be a good idea to make nice with the canine near her, for a bit of an... alliance by association as it were.

And to perhaps change any negative image the man had of her, yeah, that too.

"So, mister 'Johnny', was it?" The clone spoke up in a low voice to the dog she had seemingly got off on the wrong foot with. "If I were to guess, you're here for the cryptid."

Tom looked back to Shepherd, and then back to the ... cryptid? Not a bad name for the moment, he though. That thought still came with the "What the hell is going on here" face wipe that is experienced oh too often.

"Y'know. Between the weird weaponry, the base jumpers and, of course, the gun to my face, this ... this here takes the cake." He responded quietly.

He leaned back and thought to himself. Trying to be a little more casual in attempt to make the atmosphere a little more welcoming. "Do you think ... this sideshow..." giving a gesture to the cryptid "this cryptid could be related to the Katheeri news?" He hoped that it wasn't but given the events, who wouldn't believe it?

"I'd assume it'd be the case, though, he doesn't seem to know anything useful." Shepherd winced mentally when he brought up her rather extreme method of action from earlier, surely she should probably work on that. As the cerinian took a moment to think, she rubbed the back of her neck with one hand, while the other hooked itself on her belt (Visibly away from the holster, no need to make the same mistake twice.).

"Then again, I haven't had the opportunity to question i-... er, him." She corrected herself quickly, before turning her attention back to Tom.

"Do you plan on getting a few answers yourself?"

Zefran was in awe. "You've actually seen other people like me?" he blinked away the flood of questions bubbling up inside at this new information.

"Does it sound like he knows?" Antoine rolled his eyes impatiently.

"I'm sorry, I don't know anything." he shook his head, frowning at Antoine as he raised his voice to make himself clear moreso to his friend, "But I would really like to find out more!"

Sandor, not wanting to be outside the loop of information, shimmied up the drainpipe of a building, and upon reaching its rooftop, hopped along until he found himself above the alleyway itself. He eavesdropped in on the conversation.

"If you want to find out more," began Bohdan, "then you must find another like you. Perhaps they can have more information than yourself."

Tom looked back to the group around the corner, "Well I guess we can only learn so much from around the corner." speaking softly to Shepherd."

He gave his neck a little crack and fixed the ring on his finger. Waving his hands a bit and lightly bouncing on each foot, trying to obtain the vibe of confidence.

"Light feet, keep it casual..." muttering to himself fixing his wear. Only seven seconds to make first impressions. Better make them good. "Light feet, keep it casual..."

He turned and walked out paying no attention to the group at first, only starting a casual glance before acting "surprised." Focusing mostly on the ... deer ... he loosened up.

"No way. Nooo wayyy. Aiolius ... Are you ... one of those Katheeri?" He put a smile but kept his distance.

Zefran pondered this. If what he said was true, then he needed to find where the others were. Before he could answer, however, a new arrival diverted his attention.

Antoine, his trigger finger itching, whipped his blaster out and rounded on the pair. "None'a yer damn business. Why don't you turn right back around before my finger slips."

Bohdan, Elizabeth, and Korben turned to meet this new arrival. Elizabeth and Korben had their weapons drawn, while Bohdan stood motionless as he analyzed the newcomer. Sandor, meanwhile, unholstered his automatic blaster pistol and aimed it from above, seeing yet unseen.

Shepherd sighed as Tom walked off towards the group, she wanted to voice word of warning to the dog, but by this point she figured they would know she was there as well. Not wanting to leave the guy in a bad spot, the clone palmed her blaster, ready to draw it and provide at least a measure of cover fire in case things didn't go down all that well.

"Dammit... let this go smoothly." She mumbled as her free hand flicked on her PDS and waited for the familiar low hum of shields as it charged to full.

"nnNNNNNnnn..." Tom said aghast. Once more the hands go up and the tape is rewound. "Is this a casual greeting on Corneria or is everyone on this planet gun ho'? Jeez..." He thought about Macbeth and how everyone says "Hello."

"Now..." he said as he put two fingers up, "If I remember correctly, good edicate starts with names." He said giving a sarcastic toothy grin. A quick snap of his fingers and "Allow me to start, call me Johnny."

Renard stared placidly at the gathering of people at below him. His recent excitement after taking down a thief he chased here, he had taken a bit to wandering the low rooftops of the city's buildings. This wouldn't get him fair, but at at least be able to give him some momentary entertainment. Though he certainly didn't recognize... one of them in the group.

Then that word. Katheeri. that stopped his thoughts dead in their tracks. He listened intently, as this would be his best lead yet.

His Father's self appointed job was guarding objects, places or people of great power turning away all who could possibly seek to mus use them. he had a good knack for it as well, warding off any and all people until some earnest person beats him somehow and uses it to avert the crisis, before moving on to the next one. He sought the likes of his father for his own reasons, however.

"There it is..." he said to himself, under his breath. " My ticket to Aiolius.. Lucky day."

He'd only try to intervene if necessary, for now he sat, his legs dangling over the rim of the roof he was on and observing what is certainly a well-armed group.

  • 2 weeks later...

"What business do you have here, strangers?" Bohdan inquired to the group of people that arrived. Elizabeth and Korben reached for their weapons, while Bohdan stood fast.

Sandor, meanwhile, eyed a man overlooking the whole group from a rooftop, and covertly made his way to the spy, staying in the shadows.

"Uh-huh," Antoine sniffed, his trigger hand steady, "So tell me, Johnny. What brings you to this particular secluded alley this fine day? And don't think I've overlooked your girlfriend. I've got my eye on the both of you."

Zefran took advantage of the dragon's broad stature and hid behind him. He really needed to fix his holo-emitter.

Bohdan, noting that Zefran wanted to hide behind him, outstretched his wings so that they nearly covered the breadth of the alley. He now looked very imposing. "I suggest you answer this man's question," he said, referencing to Antoine's inquiry. Elizabeth and Korben still had their weapons holstered, although they were more than ready to change that.

"Girlfriend?!" He adjusted his shirt collar. He laughed a bit to himself and responded "What? No no she's not my girlfriend. I mean ... I haven't even bought her a drink yet." He gave a wryly sigh and took a minute to compose himself. Trying to see all angles, and taking point that at all angles there were guns drawn.

"Well if you really must know..." he closed his hands and made a list on his fingers, "we were walking near by, there was gunfire, there was a strange green flashing light, there was a very unique individual we saw run in here, there was a crazed driver who smashed this young lady's car, and people jumped off a building.... take your pick. I've got more."

Antoine growled, lowering his weapon. This guy was harmless. If he planned on doing them harm, he wouldn't be fooling around like this.

"Well, that will do it. I'm tired of holding this gun, so I'm not going to shoot you. But you best be on your way before my arm rests up again."

"Yeah like killing someone in the middle of Urban Sprawl, Cornelia is a genius idea..." He made a phone out of his thumb and pinky "Hello! Clint Northwood calling, he want's his cowboy roll back." The sass was real.

"But you're no the one I'm interested in." He turned his focused from the gun wielding punk and focused on the being that he hoped was Katheeri. He clasped his hands together. "Oh no. You, my friend, are the one I'm interested in." Tom moved ever so slowly, like on greased ball bearings, immersed in the curiosity behind this new revelation that the Katheeri just might be back.

"Tell me, are you Katheeri? Or is it all some campfire story shit?" He brought his hands to his lips and raised the eyebrows in an anxious but calm stature.

(OOC: omg I'm sorry about all that sass but it felt so good.)

"Hey!" Antoine barked, "The fu–"

"Antoine, stop." Zefran sighed, stepping out of hiding from behind the dragon, "It's getting old at this point."

He looked the canine over curiously before shrugging, "Well, that seems to be the general consensus, anyways. It's becoming more and more likely that I am a Katheeri, though."

"Zef–"

"Antoine, if there's a real chance I can finally figure out who or what I am, I want to take it." his brow was set into a hard line, "I'm tired of running and hiding."

He returned his attention to the group around him. "So my question now is, what does my being a Katheeri mean to all of you?"

The clone fought back the urge to groan in frustration, so they did know she was there, damn. Well, she may as well set herself in a position where she could see all of them, since it seemed everyone was (at least) keeping a vaguely hostile trigger discipline. While cautious regard to the better armed and better numbered group, Shepherd stepped out into view of the group, just far enough that they could see her (and her, them), yet close enough to throw herself back to safety if the situation called for it. With a light cough, the fox woman needless announced her presence, all the while keeping her focus on the dragon and his two (As she hadn't yet picked up on the two on the roof yet.) lackeys.

Bohdan stood firm. Elizabeth went into a combat posture. Korben bent his neck left and right, cracking the bones there.

"Who is this?" inquired Bohdan.

Almost immediately Shepherd's nerves kicked in and she started regretting her decision, sure, she should have expected a less than pleasant reaction (And if she were to think on it, the visible holstered weapon on her hip probably didn't help.), then again, while she wouldn't admit it, the husky woman's reaction wasn't what was bothering her most. No, for some reason, the dragon speaking to her was making the fur on her neck stand on end, in a matter of speaking that is.

"Just an... interested vixen, investigating a curious band of misfits." The cerinian responded as evenly as she could to the lizard, while crossing her arms and giving the combat ready Husky a narrow look.

"Katheeri or not, I don't know." Tom started wonder, this wasn't the response he was expecting. "How do you not know? The Katheeri were old world gods. You just got to follow your history." Tom started becoming frustrated but kept his figure controlled. The lead to this Katheeri mystery is starting to fade.

"Alright..." he took a minute to breathe, nonetheless confused and frustrated. Asking more questions in a louder tone and with more vigor, "Ok then what about the flash? ... what about that fight?" He took a step back and brought his fingers to his lips to get back to a calm state.

"Ok let me try this again..." He said more quietly. "Hello, call me John." He let out his hand and gave a simple smirk, nothing that would cause concern but it was off a tad. "I'm just trying to figure out what's going on."

"I'm Zefran, and that's Antoine. Don't worry about him...or do. I don't know, he kind of does his own thing." Zefran shook his hand, "I'm sorry to disappoint so many people today, but I honestly had no idea what I was until now. My first memory is being picked up by thugs on Macbeth."

"This is getting ri-god-damn-diculous." Antoine groaned.

Zefran shot him a sideways glance. "Listen, this...Aiolius...I want to find it too. You all seem to want to go there. I don't know what we'll find, but I need to find out."

"Perhaps," prodded Bohdan, "we could all work together to solve this frustrating mystery? After all, we are all after the same thing: Aiolius."
