Renard's hands began to glow as he climbed up to the side of the fighter opposite Korben.

"Stone, Sea, and Sky. By Silvea's grace, thy hurts be undone."

To be honest this was the lowest form of healing magic only meant to be used to keep fighters barely intact due to harsh constraints, or low aether reserves. but when Coupled with the skills of a physical medic like Korben, it was indispensable.

His hands would move over spots that he would finished and the medic with his scanner could probably see his stitches holding that much tighter, bones already beginning to bridge fractures and  pooled blood beginning to circulate, as well as Her heart beginning to quicken only slightly

Mai didn't offer any resistance to being pulled out since she was unconscious.  Her helmet would obscure Korben's view of her face, though it was more of a protection from hitting her head on something thing than assisting breathing.  The blood continued to trickle from the inside of the helmet, and if Korben gave her a scan, he'd see exactly what was wrong, like the rib, stomach contusion, the head contusion, and the banged up left shoulder.

Antoine took on the desert one dune at a time. He had some experience biking along the hills of Macbeth, but sand wasn't nearly as stable and required some skill to maneuver without getting stuck or accidentally rolling over on the way down a slope. He eventually caught up with group, spotting the massive skeleton before he saw the cluster of ships.

"Damn," he breathed as he looked over the hulking thing and came to a stop with the others.

He hopped off the bike but kept his distance, not wanting to get in anyone's way while they tended to the pilot. He instead took the opportunity to get a better look at the skeleton. He had only ever read about these creatures, but he'd never seen one up close, even if it was dead.

Laika had a feeling this was going to be the tone of this tour, so she chose to give a simpler nod of appreciation in response to save on time. He certainly was a gentleman, and she was appreciative if a tad unaccustomed to this level of attention.

----

After some stretches and a couple of leg exercises, the pair shook themselves loose.

"All right," Aura took a breath, "Let's practice launches. Like I said, your wings are useless to you if you can't launch yourself high up enough. You need a strong jump with a well-timed boost from your wings. It takes some coordination, so let me show you."

Zefran watched her crouch slightly, the muscles in her legs bunching right before she sprang into the air, her wings already outstretched. At the peak of her jump, they flapped down hard and pushed her higher up with a whoosh of wind beneath her. She descended back down to the ground with smaller controlled flaps to slow her drop.

"Okay? Now you try. Remember, you want one continuous fluid motion upwards."

Zefran steeled himself before leaping up into the air, wings flapping furiously to get him up higher.

"Don't curl up like that!" she called from the ground, "Keep your weight even throughout your body. Straighten out."

Zefran grunted with the effort as he tried several launches. Despite the struggle, he was learning fast.

"This isn't so bad." he grinned.

"I suspect you've flown before, though you may not remember it." Aura laughed, "Your muscles are remembering."

The injuries on Mai were healing up thanks to the combination of Korben's technique, and Ren's healing incantation.  She was soon stabilized, and even began to slightly stir from her heart beating slightly faster.

Tiger followed Laika into the lift, with the doors closing.  He then spoke the command to the lift, "Bridge." And with that, the lift headed to the bridge.  Though it was going to take a few minutes, the Sanctuary Tiger was a big ship. "This is one of many lifts on the ship." Tiger said, "To get from one part of the ship to another, quickly, you need only speak the location like I just did, or the deck number.  We still have stairs, ladders and access tubes for emergency access, and in case the lifts happen to malfunction.  Nothing really special, just thought I'd mention it while we wait."

Hearing only silence on Sandor's end, Shepherd simply placed the comm-unit on her hip and climbed up onto the crashed ship. For one reason or another, the fur on the back of her neck stood on end.

The hatch was already open, so whatever else was in there was either already gone... or daring her to enter. Circling the opening Shepherd reached under her BDU, activated her shields, waited for the hum to sound it's full charge, retrieved her blaster from her holster along with a flashlight, then dropped in.

Hitting the floor she quickly shined the light over the interior of the ship, after a moment to confirm no contacts, the vixen holstered her weapon and pressed a button on her comm.

"There isn't anything here," She said over the radio, shining the over the center of the room. "Nothing... dangerous, anyway."

This ship wasn't meant to be flown by something alive, she concluded, the air felt stale and there wasn't anything that looked remotely like a ventilation system. There wasn't even a window one could look out of, with out the aid of some serious tech as well as a EVA suit to boot.

Centered in the ship there was a handle that looked as though it could be pulled out of the chamber it was placed in, so she did that. The second the handle and what it connected to was freed the SOS she was picking up with her comm-unit stopped transmitting.

The vixen looked the thing over curiously, tilting her head at every odd little button or thing she found, ears flicking at every sound it made as she moved it around in her hands. It looked like a long range communications device, something a spy from the old holo-vids she watched in her earlier years would use.

This wasn't something Shepherd could hide when she climbed her way out, it was much to big.

Looking at the flight controls she spotted it came with an external flat disk hard drive, either there were a few budget cuts or someone got lazy when blueprinting the ship. Likely, it was junk data that didn't have any use, but the vixen needed something from the excursion to show the others. She snatched the item and put it in a pocket on the innermost side of her BDU, before drawing her blaster once again, turning on her comm-unit and making a show of what she was doing.

Nine consecutive shots sounded through the ship, her blaster sounding an overheating beep after the final shot... Suddenly the cerinian wanted another blaster for an even eight-teen shots. Or at the very least an upgraded cooling system.

"Alright, we're done here." She stated, turning back and one arm climbed her way out of the ship, her other heaving the odd device in tow. Shepherd step out of the hatch open hatch, waved with her free hand at the tykeriel before making her way to her own ship and climbing in (turning off her PDS once she got in). Securing the odd device behind her pilot seat, then turning and closing the canopy, the vixen started up her ship once more.

Looking back to the abandoned space craft she noted there was still the issue of the smoke to deal with and it would take to long to shovel sand onto it... not that she'd want to work like a dog in the hot sun.

"We're going to have to bury this thing, are there any explosives you can spare?" Shepherd asked a backed her ship off once she had enough lift. Perhaps they could end this particular excursion with a bang, Sandor being quiet was starting to become unsettling.

After some traveling the synthetic spotted a ship in the distance, the platform's swarm intelligence did some logic testing and concluded it was likely the ship it found itself fleeing from originated from here, resolved to go around it in a wide ark.

'The best way to avoid that ship and the organic inside, is to keep tabs on it's mother mother ship, wouldn't you agree?' That was logical, the programs concluded before changing it's original plan to a smaller yet still distant curve.

Once it was close enough and could reach the ship's network, a quick scan found the registry as the 'Szabla', captained by a dragon named "Bohdan Chmielnicki", though without a connection to lylat's extranet and the rest of the synth's own networked intellegence it only had what little information it could gain without attracting attention to itself.

'See, now that wasn't so bad now was it?' Teasing? That was a strange approach given synthetics do not react as an organic would to such stimuli.

A sudden anomaly entered the synth's field of vision, two in fact. They were hybrid with a lot of features of other organic lylatian species, namely deer, birds and canine. It couldn't find any listed species that resembled the deer-bird-canine anywhere in its archived memory, capturing photos of the two creatures, the synth saved those pictures for later evaluation.

'You could always speak to the creatures.' Almost all of the programs that made the synth rejected the idea outright, until it could confirm its safety the couldn't afford further distractions.

'How boring.' Survival took priority over this matter, the topic was no longer up for debate. There was a high percentage chance that this vessel was where the signal receiving ship would return, to ensure it's continued functionality it would have to vacate the area.

So it did, continuing the at the pace it had came here at.

Korben, while scanning the coyote's injuries, noted their sudden and rapid dissipation. Baffled, he stared at her mending body. He then caught sight of Renard's glowing hands, and put two and two together. Renard was somehow healing the crash survivor of her wounds.

"How... How?" asked Korben, too befuddled to iterate his question more clearly.

"Magic, Korben," said Bohdan. "What more do you want?"

"This... isn't possible..." continued Korben, after a few moments of silence. He then, not knowing what else to do, took of the coyote's helmet.

Sandor was confused as to why Shepherd wanted to bury any evidence of the ship. He looked to her fighter as he asked the question: "Why?"

~

Pawel observed Zefran learning how to fly, rather quickly it seems. A smile peeked out of the corner of his snout, but then he turned his attention to the ruins in the distance, which much of the others seemed to ignore. Not wanting to end up travelling on foot if weather conditions were against his ease of flying, Pawel landed in front of the docking bay. He looked around briefly before finding a hover jeep, very well suited for the harsh terrain of the sand dunes. As he approached it to begin hotwiring it, Pawel remembered something bleak: he had forgotten both his bike and fighter on Macbeth.

"Well, sh-t," he said. However, Pawel shrugged his shoulders, and began hotwiring the bike. After a few moments, the jeep was turned on, and he entered it. Pawel drove out of the bay, and stopped short of Zefran and Aura. "Hey!" said Pawel, trying to get their attention. "I'm going to check out some ruins. Would you two like to come with me?"

Mai's helmet came off easy enough, showing her beautiful face, and thanks to the work of both, Mai's head contusion was healed, but the blood was still there.  It would take a while to clean, since the heat of the desert was causing the blood to dry faster than normal, but at least it wouldn't get worse.  She was still in the process of beginning to stir, and let out a slight groan to signify this.

Korben, noticing the healed fractures and cuts, as well as the coyote's slow regaining of consciousness, Korben decided to clean her face. He took out a rag from his kit, and moistened it with water from his canteen. He wiped away the drying blood. Bohdan, meanwhile, went beside Korben, and crouched down.

"Hello?" he asked. "Can you hear me?"

"Mmmmm..." Mai let out another small groan as she came to, "Yeah..." She said as her eyes opened up, and she saw both Korben and Bohdan's faces. "Mmmm... I have to say... you two are a far sight better than what I've been seeing lately." She then began to try and stand up, wanting to get her bearings, and see if these two were joined by anyone else.

Ren kept his eyes closed, he had to maintain his focus as he amped up his magic a bit to heal her more superfluous injuries.

" Oh Mother Earth, balm and poultice to form and soul alike, guide my hands"

Renard Would only cease once the last of her bones had been sufficiently mended and any surface injuries such as cuts and bruises dissipated.

Only then did he come to attention, blushing faintly that he had been caught in such a deep state of hyperfocus. Although Mai would find herself slightly energized, but calm, as she had drunk some rather potent Mint tea.

" oh... uhm.. Hello. Sorry, I wasn't expecting you to awake so quickly."

Bohdan and Korben helped the coyote up, grabbing her by the arms and pulling her frame up.

"Are you okay?" asked Korben.

"Do not worry, we will not hurt you," said Bohdan.

"It's okay." Mai said as she continued to get up, letting Bohdan and Korben help her up, taking note of the dog who was a bit over to the side as well.  She noticed the strength of the Sclav Dragon and Beaver, though the Dragon's strength was obvious, Korben's was unexpected. "Yeah, I think I can see that." She replied when Bohdan told her they weren't going to hurt her. "You're both very strong, not like I could stop you in this position if you wanted to cause me harm." She then noticed the female husky over at the hovercraft, and the male Coyote up further away who was watching them. "Thank you for coming to my aid, and you two helping me out, I assume you pulled me out of my ship?" She said to Korben and Bohdan.

"Yes, we did," answered Bohdan. He and Korben allowed the coyote to stand on her own.

"My name is Bohdan," said Bohdan, placing his hand on his chest. "You may call me Theo." He then placed his hand on Korben's shoulder. "This is my doctor, Korben." Bohdan then gestured to Elizabeth. "There is Elizabeth." Bohdan then gestured to Renard and Antoine, who stood in the distance. "There is Renard, and over there is Antoine."

"Who are you?" asked Bohdan.

Mai nodded to each of them as Bohdan introduced them.  Those three names and their owners, Bohdan, Korben, and Elizabeth, she wondered... "Mai, Mai Coyote." Mai replied, "I'm a medicine woman and former CDF soldier who was on her way to Titania for a little mercy mission to help with the Archaeologists on site, as well as to learn a bit from the medical professionals here." She chose to leave out the fact she was a bounty hunter though, just in case this was the group that was being searched for in regards to the Napalming of Macbeth.  But it could be a good way to get further on Star Tiger's good side if they were the ones searching for the group. "I was shot down by this very brutish Venomian who just has this big grudge against anyone with the CDF, even if it's only a minimal association." It wasn't exactly a lie, that was what happened more or less, in addition to her deciding to collect a bounty on that Venomian's head, though she had underestimated his skill. "I don't know what would have happened if you guys hadn't shown up when you did."

Elizabeth and Korben looked to one another, intrigued by Mai's affiliations with the CDF. Bohdan, meanwhile, continued speaking to her.

"Well," he began, "you are much safer in a group of people, which is us. Would you like to come with us, or go recuperate on my ship? I will have people there."

The gathering would be cut short by the clinking of metal and the unmistakable sound of hands being clapped.

" A fantastic rescue, brother."

Ren's ears instantly pinned back as he stood to his feet. He didn't even turn around. his teeth beginning to grit. He really was hoping Trigger had been lying.

"Bohdan.. I need you go get your crew and Mai to Safety." He didn't like giving the captain orders. But for the sake of all here he Hoped he didn't offend.

"This one's different. You can watch... but do not be afraid to leave me behind. he words closely with various governments in addition to his duties as well, so if I don't come out on top of this, he might gun for you guys too."

He sighed as he slowly turned around and hopped off the fighter.

"Hello, Caulder."

Mai was about to say something when Caulder showed up.  She looked, and could tell this guy looked tough, she had no idea what she was in the middle of now, though she was getting an idea from how Renard was looking.  She had figured he had used some kind of magic to help heal her earlier, so the fact that Renard was acting fearful, made her think Caulder was bad news, in addition to the feelings she was getting from how he looked.  Her mind raced to her Energy Tomahawk and Bow and Arrows which were still on her ship, it couldn't fly after that kind of a crash she was sure either.  The auto-repair had been knocked offline when she was shot down, but she simply couldn't leave her ship here.  Especially since it had some important tools of her trades stored inside, along with what she had been bringing with her for the mercy mission she had been on originally, and she didn't even have anymore on her freighter.  What was in her ship was it.  But from how Renard and Caulder were talking, there would be little chance of stopping the fight that was looking to break out. "Bohdan, Korben, you two are crazy strong to have pulled my ship out I assume, can you help me get my ship back to yours?" She asked the two men, "Or at least help me quickly gather my affects?"

She frowned, for a guy who casually napalmed a stretch of dirt on Macbeth, he certainly asked a lot o questions.

"Sandor, if you're not going to make yourself useful," Shepherd said as she angled her ship to aim at a patch of the sand near the part of the ship it was emanating from, "go back to the Szabla."

With a press of the trigger on her joystick, bolts of plasma streaked from her ship's guns and impacted with the sand, kicking it everywhere. When enough sand was on the source to snuff out the smoke, the vixen maneuvered her ship around, activated her thrusters and sped off toward her estimation of where the others were.

"Bohdan, I've squared away things on my end," Shepherd said after switching into the dargon's frequency, "what about yours, did the rescue go cleanly?"

Sandor grumbled to himself as he followed Shepherd back to the Goras skeleton.

~

Bohdan, Elizabeth, and Korben readied themselves immediately for a fight. "Elizabeth, get Mai to safety," Bohdan ordered.

"Got it, Boss," said Elizabeth. She then took Mai by the arm. "Come on, we're gonna fall back."

Suddenly, he heard Shepherd's communications over the comms. He looked up to find her and Sandor's fighters approaching from a distance.

"Yes," answered Bohdan. "The rescue went smoothly, but we need support immediately, over."

Caulder sighed. " Let's get to the point."

he struck his sword with the back of his gauntlet, the silvery crystal resonating and sending a peculiar note through the air. Renard shook his head as he felt his type of focus shift from half aware to full acuity. He gulped. he knew this feeling.

" Bohdan... That sword... It's vibrations nullify magic... Even personal shields that let axians take huge amounts of punishment."

"Correct... I'm sorry brother, But i must put an end to you here.. not only is your meddling endangering the lives of an entire people, but your magicks are just too dangerous to have you wandering freely"

" So it's True.... you are hunting mages!"

" No Renard... Just you. Look around you.. even if your magic returned to you. There is no water for you to manipulate, and this sword is made from Corrupted Starseed. It could cut right through any petty earth or Wind magic you tried to send my way. Sumbit your life now, There's no way for you to win."

The captain Would probably know panic when he saw it, and that was definitely the look across Renard's face, the hound forcing himself not to shake.

" That leaves my only option to be swordplay." he said under his breath, bohdan being able to hear it.

"While this family crisis is all very dramatic and worthy of being in a soap opera..." began Bohdan, "...I believe it is time for an intervention. Renard, what is this talk, 'There is no water'?" Bohdan took out his own canteen and handed it to Renard.

"Rule number one of travelling in a desert: always have water." Korben also gave Renard his personal canteen.

"Don't waste it," said Korben.

Bohdan then looked to Renard's impressive sword. "Rule number two: always have a knife." He then stepped to Renard's side. Korben stepped to the other unoccupied side of Renard. Bohdan unsheathed his bastard sword, while Korben took out a machete from his pack.

"Rule number three: it is good to have company."

" Leave it to you to ask brigands for help."

" That's Not me anymore!"

" Reformation Does not absolve you from what you are!"

" These are my friends!"

" have they even told you What they plan for the Katheeri?! They could be conducting a preemtive purge for all you know!"

" They're good people at heart! Misguided, but good!"

" You always were too foolish brother, i imageine it was because Mother coddled you when you retur-"

Caulder stopped his beratement a moment.. he felt something from his brother...  Bloodlust.. apparently  he had touched a nerve.

Renard slowly bared his weapon. He knew what needed to be done.

" I need my magic back... Corrupted crystal Dosen't have the lattice strength that normal crystal does.. it'll take some effort, but we need to break that sword."

She said checking her radar, then her surroundings to see if the need for support was due to a problem aerial in nature. When she found no trouble there, Shepherd angled her ship for a better view; at her distance there were only a few details she could make out by the gora, though as her ship drew nearer, the vixen found it easier to get a read on the situation.

Seemed as though Renard's sibling now turned up, or at least that's who she assumed this new face was. A single person ground level would be a troublesome target to hit at such close proximity to her comrades. Since the bird-canine was still following her, instead of following her earlier request to RTB, she figured Sandor could still be useful here.

Switching the device to contact her wingman, Shepherd informed him of what the two of them were doing.

"We're providing the ground team with fire support, Sandor." She found herself hoping the tykeriel had experience with what the vixen was planning.

"When there's enough distance between them, focus your fire on magic man's shiny sibling." She ordered before changing contact back to Bohdan.

"Sir, try to get us room for a clean strafing run."
