New gameplay video with full audio

This confirms that the trailer theme is indeed the game's theme. Also, if you listen closely, you can hear hints of the SNES theme music in the Corneria BGM. Nice touch!

Oh Lord that perspective focus locking looks horrible. Hate when games do that with a passion. Alternate camera options and aim modes, please.

The sound design is shaping up to be quite nice.  I hope that the radio sound from SF643D isn't reused though - for whatever reason I found it unbearable.

I also still maintain my criticism of the game feeling/looking empty.  If Corneria is supposed to be a bustling city, albeit a heavily damaged one, I'd like to see more than just a few buildings and structures in a field.  Not much is occurring in the backgrounds during the on-rails segments to suggest that you're facing a large-scale conflict either.

This is quite clearly the E3 build.

Are you talking about during the fight with Pigma? If so, that view is toggleable.

The audio quality is pretty in this vid though. But I heard that part ! :D

Also, the boss intro music for the androssa sounds a little like an homage to the choir intro to the boss battle on corneria on SF SNES, doesn't it ?

I hope they'll make more cameos and direct references to the SNES games ! That's something I wish they had done since SF64..

No, where he's flying around the tower and the mothership thing, how it locks it's view to a certain direction and he ends up crashing into random things because the camera is being a Looky-Lou and he can't see where he's going, granted you could use the cockpit view on the controller but that's more akin to a work around for a problem, to me. The problem being the camera being forced to look a random direction.

I don't understand why we aren't talking more about the implications of what we see here.

Maybe i'm behind the ball because I don't follow SF anymore, but we've seen the re-appearance of the andross's forces, and Pigma is alive. That means that unless this video is only premiering a prologue or some sort of stage setting for the a larger conflict, we're going to re-live the Andross conflict. Its a virtual re-boot. At least, it'll be enhanced and from what we can see the narrative isn't an exact replica. But it strikes me a little odd since they released a new 64 game not so long ago...

Because we already talked a lot about it being a reboot, and also because in the E3 treehouse videos they explicitely said it was a reboot(re-imagining) of the series.

Here are a couple vids so you can catch up :)

Day 1, Part 1  (Corneria, Miyamoto):

Day 1 : part 2 (Zoness, Miyamoto and Platinum guy (forgot his name again) ):

Day 2 (Treehouse guy, in custom made arwing cockpit):

Day 3 (Actually good Treehouse guy going through Corneria, Area3, and Titania. He actually unlocks a few little different dialogs and events. Like pigma actually tell him he did good XD):

Explains quiet a bit. At least it gets a feel for he narrative then. Thanks psy, always saving my butt.

They're going to have re-image quiet a bit then i'd imagine too. Its my opinion a lot more then rail and area shooters will be necessary to have the game sale a decent amount of units. The land form of the arwing, although interesting, isn't all that original as we all know. I'm interested to see what they have to make this game really pop! The gameplay looked fun and all but I'm not sure if it was "re-imagined" enough to deviate far enough away from Starfox 64. If anything it appeared to be more of a tweaking.

That guy was probably using that target-view on that tower, to make sure no of those robot-insect-things got stuck on it. Normally you can look around that area freely, as far as I have seen and know.

Shit indeed ! :D

And no problems ! :)

There have been "hints" here and there that the story might diverge a bit from SF64. But, yeah, we'll see. They probably just showed mostly familiar levels not to scare existing fans.

I thought it was Z-targeting too for a while. But, if you watch this video, you'll notice that it seems the perspective is actually really locked that way when flying around the adrossa..

Oh, and that annoying sound is back D:
