As Elizabeth called over her teammates Sven had walked over to the pile of crates next to it. After a moment of digging he found the one he was looking for. Flipping the lid off it revealed 4 Semi Automatic 8 shot grenade launchers. Turning twords the rest of the mercs he waved. "Hey come over here and help your selves!" Pulling one out he continued. "Just don't break my toys!"

Sandor, with a pep in his step, skipped gleefully towards Sven, grabbing one of the grenade launchers in the crate. He raised it in the air. "The Pagans shall quake...!" he said with an ominous joy. Elizabeth and Korben walked towards the crate more calmly, and each of them took a grenade launcher. They both carefully examined their fine-tuned and devastating weaponry.

"Bulky... But decent," critiqued Korben, looking down the iron sights.

"Nah, not for me," said Elizabeth, putting her grenade launcher back in the crate. She un-slung her rifle off of her shoulder, holding it in her hands. "I prefer this bad boy. Gets the job done with no mess."

"Aw, you're no fun!" Sandor berated Elizabeth.

The Venomian trio finally made their way to the crate in an effort to get reasonably acquainted with the respective mercs. Kosovo looks at the grenade launchers and chuckles. "The last time I saw those, they were being shot at me." He turns to Kimber. "Remember those?"

"Wait, were those the ones the Venomian commandos shot at us as we climbed onto your ship?" Kimber asked.

"The exact ones." Kosovo replied.

Kosovo then looks at Sven.

"Kosovo Zendovsi,  Venomian by birth, but we are not enemies. Cornerian Foreign Legion." He says, showing his documentation.

Sven examined Liz's rifle. "Another Marksman. That's respectable." Holding up his rifle he continued "This here is my preferred weapon. A modified SM 21." Turning towards the Venomian Mercs he addressed them. "Sven Schutz, Ex Cornerian ACI. So you ran into the Commandos huh? The same bastards nearly wiped out my unit a few years ago." pulling out his tags he continued "But we gave em hell, and they paid for every inch of ground."

"So, are we gonna get this job done?" asked Elizabeth, eager to work for her pay. "Come on: those who wanna do this, pile in Sven's truck. Those that don't stay in the village, yeah?" Korben and Sandor climbed into the back of the deuce and a half, while Elizabeth went into the passenger seat of the cab.

"Alrighty, let's get going!" said Sandor enthusiastically.

"Yea you got a point there." Sven said as he watched Elizabeth Climb in the passenger side. "If your coming load up in the back," Pausing for a moment he climbed in the drivers side "and feel free to grab one of those grenade launchers if you want." Turning the key the truck rumbled to life. "So Black Guard?" He asked as he looked over at Elizabeth "Where did you fight?"

"The Battle for CC (Corneria City), during the Lylat Wars," said Elizabeth, staring blankly in front of her. "I took 517 lives in that battle. Most of them didn't even see me." She shook her head. "That's a horrifying thought, to know that one person can single-handedly kill that many people. War is a bunch of horrific statistics." After a brief moment of silence, she continued to speak.

"I also fought in the Aparoid Invasion. Korben, that beaver, was under my command. He and myself were the only two survivors in our squad after the bugs hit us hard. But even before the dust settled and the bugs were squashed, he and I had formed a special bond. You know, that relationship between two buddies in a foxhole. From then on, I knew that he and I had each other's back. No matter what, we'll stick through it, Korben and I."

Korben could faintly hear Elizabeth tell her tales of her time in the CDF, and smiled a bit when she talked about him. Sandor, staring at Korben, raised his eyebrow inquisitively. "What is it?" he asked. Korben shook his head.

"Oh, nothing," he said, continuing to smile slightly.

"Hm..." pondered Sandor.

Meanwhile, Bohdan left the village hall and spotted the rest of his team entering a deuce and a half. He nodded, and headed towards the tavern. The village square was moderately busy, with groups of 2 or 3 people talking among themselves here or there. Various stalls inhabited the square, although almost every stall owner was bored out of his or her mind. Not many villagers were buying their wares. Today was a slow day in general. Bohdan entered the tavern, where he noticed one of his teammates drinking at the bar. Bohdan approached the disheveled man with a guitar slung around his shoulder, and sat down beside him. He nudged the guitarist with his right wing.

"I did not see you in the village hall, Roy," Bohdan said. "Why?"

"I was busy," replied Roy before sipping on his pint glass full of beer.

"With what?" asked Bohdan.

"Drinking alcohol," answered Roy bluntly. Bohdan chuckled.

"Emil wants us to kill an Uhhun lieutenant in a few hours. Elizabeth, Korben, and Sandor are already heading out with some other mercenaries. Will you go?"

Roy shook his head.

"Ah, well, I am not going either." Bohdan then looked at the bartender, who was rubbing a glass with a towel. "Give me a beer, Dimka" he requested.

"You got it," replied the bartender. Within a few moments, a pint of Dimka brand beer appeared in front of Bohdan, courtesy of the bartender.

"Thank you," said Bohdan, grabbing the glass. Roy glanced at it, and together, the two of them clinked their glasses before drinking.

Sven listened to her story with intrigue. "Apparoid invasion was some hard combat. I personally wasn't in it, I was too young. But our CO took one on with only a handgun. Tore him up real bad." He paused for a moment. "My unit was sent to investigate a Venomian carrier that had landed on Titana, that's when we got hit. Out of the 40 of us that left the day before, 9 of us made it back. And that's when I met that numbskull." He leaned out the window and pointed at Tony. "Hurry up!" he shouted before returning to his seat. "We also had the Sauria mop up operation. We had to weed out the remaining enemy forces, somehow an entire battalion escaped the Cornerian Military. That's where I got most of my kills." Stopping to take a breath he added. "If you ever need to talk to someone, I'm all ears."

"Right away!" Tony called as he spun around and jumped in the back of the truck. "So where are we headed and who's the target?"

"Well, thank goodness I've got you by my side," said Elizabeth, patting him on the shoulder. "And I'll take you up on that 'all-ears' thing. Anyway, bring your man up to speed, o.k.?"

"All right." Sven said as he turned around "You missed a lot Tony. The target is an Uhhun  lieutenant. And where I don't know, she has the GPS." he said pointing at Elizabeth. "Oh, this is Tony." Sven added introducing him to the rest of the group.

"Alright, Svenny, here's the coordinates," said Elizabeth, giving Sven a good look at the device which stated where the meeting would take place. "So, I've got a plan. I'll tell you guys on the way there. Let's just get moving."

"Demo?" said Elizabeth. "We need that. I'm Elizabeth. Korben's the beaver, and Alex is the bird-dog thing."

"Tykeriel!" yelled Sandor, reminding Elizabeth of what he was.

"Whatever the f--k you are!" shouted Elizabeth. Sandor pouted in a strangely adorable manner, and crossed his arms.

(You people need to rp at a more convenient time. lol)

Kosovo and his group piled into the truck. All of them checking their weapons. The moment of truth. Time to prove themselves. Kosovo lay back and ran possibilities through his head to prepare him for whatever may lie ahead.

Kimber sat thinking about the battle that would probably ensue. He excitedly anticipated what was to come.

Lerman stayed quiet but moved his mouth as he muttered a prayer of protection I've them.

Once everyone was in Sven took off down the road. Keeping his eyes on the road but turning his head he spoke to Elizabeth. "So what's this plan of yours?"

The almost non-existent road which led out of the village made for a very bumpy ride. Elizabeth, however, was determined to spell out the plan very carefully.

"Sven, you and I find a vantage point and watch over the deal. I'm gonna take the shot that brings down the target. Korben, Alex, your man, and the Venomians meet the dude and act as the muscle for this. We're gonna provide covering fire, they're gonna do the heavy hitting. We make sure none of them lives: Emil would love that."

Then, a particularly nasty pothole caused a great bump in the truck. Most of the passengers were jostled clear out of their seats, including Korben and Sandor.

"Ragh!" yelled Sandor as he got back up. "They don't have the common sense to pave these roads?!"

"They're busy," answered Korben, dusting dirt off his combat vest.

"Of course, they're caught up with farming and killing each other."

After a few more minutes of driving Sven had found a good vantage point near the target. Pulling over he turned off the truck and stepped out. "This spot good enough?" He asked turning his head.

Elizabeth jumped out of the truck, gracious that the journey was over. "Ah, s--t!" she yelled, grasping her rear end. "Ah, my ass hurts! Anyway, yeah, this is a good place... Ah dammit..." She fell to one knee, leaning on her rifle and groaning. Korben and Sandor also stumbled out of the truck, happy that the drive ended. Sandor bounced around, trying to get his stiff muscles working again. Korben stretched his legs and arms, yawning.

"Woo, that was rigorous," commented Sandor.

"Uh-huh," uttered Korben.

"Now, let's go meet our Uhhun friends," said Sandor. Korben nodded, and followed the teen tykeriel to the meeting place on foot, just a klick west of their position.

By now, Elizabeth had recuperated much of her strength. "Tell you man to follow my guys," she said to Sven. Then, she turned to the Venomians. "Hide the truck guys. I don't want any baddies to sabotage it." Elizabeth then eyed a ridge with some rocky outcroppings adorning it. "That looks like a decent vantage point," she said, eyeing and pointing at it.

Turning to Tony Sven gave a stern order. "Stick to them like glue. The last thing we need is you getting killed off." Removing the rifle from his shoulder he offered Elizabeth a hand up. "Looks like I'm spotting today." He couldent help but chuckle. "I guess you aren't too used to not having a  good suspension system."

Elizabeth, with the help of Sven, managed to get back on her feet. "Yeah, my team has vehicles with great suspensions: feels like you're riding on a cloud. Anyway, yeah, you're gonna be my spotter/fellow marksman. Just don't shoot until I take out the target. I don't want this guy to get spooked. Okay, let's go." Elizabeth then began walking towards the rocky ridge in the distance.

Sven tossed the key to the Venomian jokingly he added "Don't scratch my ride." He picked up his pace to catch up with Elizabeth. "So my guess is you've done this before." Pausing for a moment he took a sip from his bottled water. " I thought the black Guards specialized in Urban combat."

"We do," replied Elizabeth, walking a moderately steep incline. "We also do jungle and forest warfare, desert and plains combat... Hell, we could fight in a volcano if we wanted to. But we don't, because that's stupid, and we're short on evil geniuses who want world domination." Elizabeth then reached a tiny plateau in the incline, and observed her surroundings: slight variations in the terrain, but otherwise a completely flat landscape of short grasses. A herd of Hyrcanian bison could be seen in the far distance, drinking water from a small stream. This made Elizabeth thirst. She grabbed her canteen, which hung from her pack on her back, and unscrewed the cap. She took a gulp of water before screwing the cap back on and placing the canteen back in its place. Elizabeth looked up to see the rocky outcropping much closer than before.

"Come on, Sven, a few more meters..." Elizabeth continued her walk upward.

Kosovo and Kimber stayed with the others while giving Lerman the key. After driving the vehicle to a safe location, he props himself up and takes his sniper rifle from over his shoulder and magnifies his scope. He sees the man they were supposed to kill and hit a button on his communicator that overid everyone else's

"Our POI is in the back." He says. "If no one wants it, I'm taking the glory shot."

As Elizabeth got into her position on a rock, she heard Lerman's voice crackle over the radio, stating tha the would shoot. "Uh," she began, in total disbelief that absolutely none of the Venomians even heard a word of the plan she had, not moments ago, told everyone in the truck. "How about you don't take the shot, and let me kill the target?"

Meanwhile, Korben and Sandor were walking with Tony, Kosovo, and Kimber, when a grey jeep rolled up in the distance. "Here they are..." warned Korben, cocking his assault blaster. Sandor then threw his grenade launcher on the ground and ran towards the jeep, which had just stopped a few meters in front of them. Its four occupants, the target included, stepped out of the jeep. Sandor aimed his Sz. 17 compact automatic blaster and shot the target's three gunmen, killing them. The Uhhun lieutenant then ran to the driver's seat, hoping to get away. Sandor, however, was too swift for the lieutenant to make it, and he unsheathed a small kukri-like blade from his pack. He stabbed the Uhhun lieutenant, killing him. Sandor then desecrated the body by beheading it with the blade. He raised the head in the air.

"Done!" he yelled. Sandor threw the head to Korben, who reluctantly caught it. Korben looked in the dead lieutenant's eyes.

"What's up?" asked Korben to the head, his dark sense of humor bubbling to the surface. However, now was not the time to celebrate: a horde of Pecheneg militiamen appeared over a distant ridge! They dismounted numerous pickups and trucks, and charged at the mercenaries, armed with everything from ancient firearms and coilguns to advanced automatic blasters. Sandor ran back towards his automatic grenade launcher and fired wildly at the charging sea of men and women. The first shot impacted the ground near a cluster of Pechenegs, killing them. The second impacted next to a Pecheneg. The force of the explosion flung that Pecheneg a considerable distance, and severed his leg. The fourth shot hit the engine block of a pickup truck, causing it to explode.

"Woo!" yelled Sandor, admiring the spectacular pyrotechnics show he put up. He then attempted to fire more grenades, but the launcher jammed abruptly: it was unable to handle the harsh dust of the Steppes. "What?!" he screamed. Sandor then reequipped his Sz. 17, reloaded, and began to spray the incoming crowd with death. Most of the Pechenegs hit the dirt, and began firing back.

Elizabeth watched in horror as a seemingly endless sea of Pechenegs rose up from the ridge and attacked the mercenary group. "Holy s--t..." she said as she began shooting down one Pecheneg at a time. "Come on Sven!" We've got kills to tally!"
