Menu Structure

How do you guys like the menu structure so far? Is it easy to find things or did it make it more complicated?

I'm a fan of it, but it has had its moments of slight annoyance.

Care to elaborate? I can't make it less annoying if I don't know why it is annoying.

The only thing I miss about the old layouts was the View New Content page's organization of new posts by thread.  Other than that, the new menu system is intuitive and straightforward.

Wait, scratch my only criticism.  The current new content system does work fine.  But I did like how the other menu would keep a thread that you've viewed on the new content list, as opposed to removing it once viewed as it does now.

I think I just need to get used to it. Like how the forums button on mobile was on the first page of the menu thing, and now I have to go to community. It's more organized, though. That's something that I like a lot.

You can create a custom activity stream that does that, though if enough people want that, I can make a global on that will appear on the list of streams. It's a really nice feature as you can now set it up to show you what you want.

Community -> My Activity Streams -> Create new Stream

The new layout is good but it could be simplified.

Desktop version is alright. I don't know if the Rules needs it's own tab but whatever if it helps.

The mobile is a different story. I think the look before the directions were categorized was more efficient and time saving as well as less annoying.

Do you have a better idea for where the rules could go?

The phone version puts it under community.

I've made some changes to it last night.

I have a dilemma right now. I don't really know how to involve fewer clicks on mobile without cluttering the top menu on desktop.

Are the desktop and mobile layouts the same code?

Yes and no. It's called Responsive Design. Different properties are applied to CSS classes depending on screen size. It's the same code, but different if you get my drift.

Open the site on a desktop. Minimize the window and start making it narrower. You will see it "turn into" the mobile site as you make it narrower and into the desktop site as you make it wider.

In the case of the menus, it's all Admin CP settings. I could monkey with the code a bit if I wanted to, but I really don't.
