Nintendo Direct 11/12/15

That Ain't Falco

Recommended Posts

So as I write this, today's Nintendo Direct has just moved on from SF0, and is onto a Mario and Luigi/Paper Mario crossover.

Here's what we learned about SF0

-The release date, April 22nd, 2016

-There's a Venomian with a really think Bostonian accent

-An official name for the Landmaster's transformation (may have been released earlier)

-Not a ton more, but it was a really great trailer.

-The FB feed really hates Slippy

From Joseph.:

- Nova Bombs are back!

- Arwing Walker can walk on Battleships in space

- Number Fonts changed a bit & now they turn red-ish just like in Star Fox 64

After watching the Japanese trailer, it seems that the Landmaster will be able to utilize the Multi-Lock introduced in Command. In my opinion, that was the best part of the game.

Nice spot, Joseph. This photo can be seen on the wall of the Landmaster tucked behind a display when the camera in the trainer zooms in on Peppy in the Landmaster. It depicts James, Peppy, and maybe Pepper. The image does not include Pigma.

If I missed anything, or anyone would like to add, then go ahead! The stream is still going, and my memory is less than excellent.

Where are the Nova Bombs? I didn't see any.

They were in the game play shots shown after the trailer. They can be seen above the bar at the bottom.

Its in the Direct; after the trailer is shown you see gameplay

BTW when it shows Peppy in the Landmaster you can see a picture hanging on the wall showing him & James

Nice spot. I'll add a blown up screenshot of it to the post. If anyone can get a higher res one, send away.

Well, the delay means that they're getting more time to work on the game. This means more polished gameplay, more content, and fewer bugs. I think the delay is going to do the game good.

Of course, even I knew that. Just kind of bothers me a little that it lands on a Friday, a day I have to go to work.

But then you go home, and have three days to kill Andross and his scum.

Oh, you're right! I missed that completely!

Interesting. Miyamoto had said during E3 that they were out. I wonder why he changed his mind,

The Japanese trailer has some slightly different footage:

The quoting was on accident, couldn't figure out how to get rid of it. But, I've noticed that far more positive reaction this time around with new gameplay footage and the latest trailer which is a good sign. But, have you guys noticed that before the communications between characters in the first trailer continued on without matching what the characters are saying but now with the latest trailer (especially evident in the japanese trailer) they're synced up with the voices? I quite like it.

For future reference, click in the upper left corner of a quote and hit delete to kill it. I noticed the sync, as well. However, the low framerate speaking animations do need a fix...

The E3 build was an early build. There were several obvious placeholder assets in use. Given that this build is much later in the cycle, seeing things like better animation/audio sync are to be expected.

You're f*****g kidding me!They're making another Pokémon Mystery Dungeon?!?! *spasms and intensifies*

EDIT: And make sure that Chunsoft don't screw it up and make it a wreckfest like Gates To Infinity... Please let it have a story that was as every bit as good as Explorers Of Sky...

The Japanese trailer looks so much more bad***! I did hear of people in early news complaining before, sorely missing the explosions! Just like me, actually. They did end up forgetting about it eventually, but I guess the complaints were heard.
