Fedora
Casino grins at him as she takes a bite out of the honey bun she actually did swipe while he was frantically searching for his wallet. "A girl's gotta eat" She offers. Royale just sighs. "Oh by the way, did you hear about the exchange students?" She says. "According to the class rosters, we'll be seeing them in some of our's." Arminius H O Fiddywinks
"Ah, I am sorry," replied Bohdan, "but I fear that it is only me blushing." He chuckled and rubbed the back of his neck with his right hand, burying his left in his jacket pocket. "Oh, I did not even introduce myself!" Bohdan outstretched his hand. "My name is Bohdan. You may call me Theodore."
Kurt
Sven walked into the class room, there were a few people here and there. Continuing his search he found who he thought was the teacher. "Mr. Kalocsai?" he pronounced his words carefully, trying not to slur them. "I'm Sven, one of your exchange students. I have to use...." He couldn't think of the word in English for it so he pulled it out. It was a small computer, a translator "this, I'm not good with new language." He silently hoped he could understand him through his accent.
Arminius H O Fiddywinks
Sandor looked up from a wad of papers he was grading, and saw a new face. A canine student with a very heavy Semnone accent. He leaned back in his chair, with the article of furniture squeaking under his weight. "It's okay, kid," assured Sandor. "When I first came to this world, I couldn't speak a word of the language. Now look at me: I'm a teacher." Sandor stood up from his seat. "Yes, I'm the teacher. You may call me 'Mr. K'." Zaphyr Stone
She laughed at his remark, covering her mouth as it gaped open. "I'm Jolene. My friends call me Jo. Are you new? Or have I just not been paying attention?" ---- Zane watched the exchange casually between the familiar face and his teacher. What were the odds he would wind up here first thing? Arminius H O Fiddywinks
"Well, I am new for this year," explained Bohdan. "My parents wanted my brother and I to go to a private school, but we both wanted to see how most Cornerians were educated." Bohdan pointed to his brother. "There his right, right there. His name is Wladyslaw." Wladyslaw heard his name being uttered, and turned to the source of the sound. When he noticed it was his older brother, talking to that girl, reference him, Wladyslaw waved his hand meekly, and continued looking at the contents of his binder. "We both came here with our family from Ruthenia," continued Bohdan, "because our father works for our government as a diplomatic envoy. Our family will probably stay for a while." He grinned, showing his pearly white, sharp teeth. His face radiated the brilliant red hue, and if someone were to turn off the lights and pull down the shutters, his face might, perhaps, glow a crimson red. Bohdan was always the more charismatic and outgoing of the two Chmielnicki brothers. Wladyslaw did not mind living in the shadow of his brother, since he knew that he was far more clever and smarter than Bohdan. While Bohdan had the charm, Wladyslaw had the brains. Bohdan understood this, as he would frequently ask his little brother for help with homework and studying for tests. Wladyslaw had somewhat of a leash on Bohdan, careful to steer him clear of bad situations or advise him on what action to take if they were to find themselves in one. However, both brothers attempted, at times, to take each other out of their respective comfort zones and bring them into each other's shoes. Bohdan would take Wladyslaw to parties and try to give him the time of his life. This usually ended in Wladyslaw getting sick from drinking strong alcohol or being harassed by the rougher party goers. Wladyslaw sometimes subjected Bohdan to the rigors of academia by having him do extra homework or, God forbid, read an encyclopedia. Bohdan could cope, but the results were less than spectacular. Bohdan once had a nightmare about being kidnapped by Wladyslaw and held captive in a room, where the key would only be revealed by solving a quadratic equation with a real integer, but that resulted in an imaginary number if completed using the quadratic formula. "So, are you new?" asked Bohdan.
Zaphyr Stone
"Oh no, I've been here since my freshman year." She explained adjusting in her seat to face him as she shot the breeze, "My parents are both doctors for the Cornerian military. We're originally from Titania, but my dad was reassigned here as a permanent position. When I finished middle school, we moved, and I've been here since!" She smiled cheerfully, "How do you like it here?"
Arminius H O Fiddywinks
Bohdan nodded in understanding when Jolene told him she was not a new student. "Your city is beautiful," Bohdan said, stealing a glimpse from outside the window of the classroom. In the distance, the impossibly tall, bright, shiny skyscrapers dotted the city skyline. Various ships zipped between buildings, and in the streets, hover cars hummed along, going from here to there. Animated advertisements adorned various commercial and retail establishments. However, the school itself was nestled in a rather quiet suburb not far from several students' homes in La Catalina, the Chmielnickis' being one of them. "It is shiny, and bright, and everything feels sleek," Bohdan added. "On Ruthenia, the capital is massive compared to yours. Everything is big, since we are big. Most of the buildings are red, yellow, or blue. It also feels a bit... Eh, what is the word?" He pondered the Cornerian equivalent to the phrase, looking down onto the ground. "Uh... The word in my language is 'staroświecki'. I am sorry I do not know it in Cornerian."
Zaphyr Stone
"Sleek and shiny pretty much fits us too a tee here." She nodded I amusement. She paused for a moment to try and pronounce the word to herself, "Hmm, maybe I can help? What does it describe?"
Arminius H O Fiddywinks
"it is umm..." Bohdan made strange gestures with his hands, trying to stir up the word. "Something from a long time ago. Something... old!" He had an excited look on his face, like he had just won the lottery. "Old-fashioned," answered Wladyslaw, unable to withstand their guessing game. Bohdan's face soured, and glared at Wladyslaw. "We had the answer!" complained Bohdan. "Uh, no you didn't," replied Wladyslaw in a sassy manner. "Tchh..." uttered Bohdan. Naza Sutera
"I saw this gargantuan-ass... frigging..." Amelia combed her lexicon for the word to describe or define who she saw. "A dragon?" Amber offered as she put her math homework in her binder. "Your mom!" Amelia said, affronted at Amber's obscene language. "What--?" Amber rolled her eyes. "No, stoopid. I mean, a dragon. Like, those lizard things. Reptilian. Like Eragon." "Oh." Amelia sipped her orange juice, feeling stupid. "...So, yeah, I saw these Reptilian guys. Super tall. Where do you think they are from?" "I'ono," Amber said as she took out her English homework to look over it. "Don't you have a class with them? Why don't you ask them when you see 'em?" "I hope they speak our language. It will be a hot mess if they only speak Klingon." Amelia thought about what she just said. "...Yeah, that was kinda effed up of me to say." Arminius H O Fiddywinks
Korben and Elizabeth entered Mr. K's history class, passing by a young canine student with a thick accent. Neither of them quite knew what accent that was at the time. They took their usual spots towards the middle of the room, among the archipelago of chairs and desks. Now at this time, there came two more students, both originally from Zoness. One was a tiger shark with dark brown hair and chestnut eyes, whose name was Michael, as remembered by Korben. The other was a toucan, whose brilliantly colored beak shone in hues of green, yellow, red, and orange, who was named Lorenzo. Michael was taller than Lorenzo, yet Lorenzo had a more stocky build. They sat at desks closest to the wall, as there were no other adequate seats in front of the class.

"Sit there, Sven. By the window." Arminius H O Fiddywinks
Sandor paced around the front of the classroom, swinging his arms back and forth, his hands clapping as they met. He hummed and scatted an unintelligible tune stuck in his head, and glanced at the clock. There was still time to spare before the bell rang. Sandor's burnt orange shirt was clean and neatly ironed, thanks to his wife, and his jet black tie had a small gold clip. The Ogniemite religious amulet he had since he was a small child glowed every time sunlight struck its jeweled center. The few students that were in the classroom were mesmerized by its glow. Zaphyr Stone
Jolene laughed at the exchange between the two brothers. "It's okay. Ancient is another good word for it too." ----- Lily huffed and puffed all the way to the locker room. Having had just enough time to spend a few minutes catching up with friends after setting Faline up with her interpreter, she had to hurry off to her first class. Having gym first thing in the morning was tiring, but it did wake her up for the rest of the day. Changing into her shirt and shorts, she walked into the large gymnasium and took a seat on the bleacher.
Arminius H O Fiddywinks
"Ahh..." uttered both brothers, nodding and glancing at each other. Wladyslaw retreated into his binder full of notes. Zaphyr Stone
"I can't say I have." She shook her head, "A lot of reptiles live on Titania for obvious reasons, but none of them have wings. Can you really fly?" ---- Coach Antoine Chevalier stepped into the gymnasium, dressed in a black t-shirt, gym shorts and sneakers. The tall, wiry coyote looked like he was hardly up to physical par, but his students all knew what he was capable of. He breathed in deep and stretched, not being much of a morning person. "Those of you coming in, start walking laps around the basketball court." He made a whirling gesture with his hand. The handful of students sitting on the bleachers groaned and half-heartedly began their walk. Lily didn't mind as much. Grabbing her iPod, she plugged in, letting the steady techno beat dictate her steps.
Arminius H O Fiddywinks
Bohdan chuckled at the question. "Yes, yes I can fly. My brother can fly, my parents, all of my people. It is like swimming in the air: it gets exhausting after a while. It is easier, however, if one is athletic." Joe and Diana wondered to themselves where the math teacher was. It was so unlike of her to be absent on any day. Perhaps, she had a very serious illness? Or maybe a family emergency? They were puzzled, yet capitalized on this opportunity. Joe turned to Diana, who was behind him. "Hey, Di," began the sneaky lizard, "did you do the math homework?" "Yeah, you want it?" asked the furry dragon, taking out her math binder. "Yes I do," answered Joe. "Okay, here it is," said Diana, pulling out a sheet of paper from her binder. Joe took a quick glance at it and gave it back to her. "Thanks," he said. Joe then began to write down all the answers and the work needed to find them on a sheet of lined paper.

Arminius H O Fiddywinks
Swimming. To both brothers, that is a word that conjures up a bad memory. A memory about chlorine-enriched water filling one's lungs. A memory about a liquid suffocating a toddler. A memory where one little boy boldly attempted to go where he had never gone before. The word echoed in Bohdan's mind, and petrified him, although his face remained stoic. Wladyslaw ceased looking at his work, and his piercing stare switched between his brother and Jolene. "Do you want her to know?" Wladyslaw asked. Bohdan did not respond.
Shmibli7
It was almost mid-day before a beat-up Durango pulled off of the interstate toward Crestmere Highschool. The passengers, three Venomian teens. Three young people lucky enough to be sent through before anything happened between their homeworld and the worldthey now found themselves in. Vlady Meyrnok, a seventeen year old jackals, drove the vehicle, listening to "Free the Animal", a song he had discovered shortly after arriving on Corneria. "How late are we, Vlady?" His nephew, Jasper asked from the backseat. "Too late." He replied. "You should've set your clock." The younger jackal said. "Shut up, Jasper." Vlady shot, turning around in his seat. "He was only pointing out a fact." Another voice said, the voice of Sev Mi'kresh, a leopard gecko. "You, too, Sev." Vlady said, turned back now, as they drove on, shaking his head as he pulled forward. Sev had agreed to take in his older sister's son after he had fled Venom under the radar after the second Lylat War. Finding a social worker who didn't turn him away, he applied for Cornerian citizenship. Jasper came six months later. He picked him up at spaceport and was surprised to see that his sister hadn't told him that he and Sev were both coming. It didn't matter to Vlady, though. Sev was a family friend. His job, though, barely paid for the rent and food for the three of him. Still, to them, it was better than Venom. Eventually, they pulled into school. "Go, go, go!" He said as he shooed Sev and Jasper out of the SUV. All three of them ran inside, only to see that most of the classes were in session. Vlady swears in Venomian.
