If you mean things like Mario Baseball and stuff, then yes, it's strayed FAR, but things like Sunshine still keep up with it, mostly. If they came up with a regular baseball game, then it probably wouldn't get very far, even if it included all the twists they usually add in. However, MARIO baseball would appeal immediately to an audience and thus generate moe cash for them.
